I was one day. I actually wanted to stay another day but doc said i was fine to go since leak test was fine and I was able to hold liquid and jello down.

I am in Houston and Dr. Ferrari is at Memorial Hosipital. Look him up. Carlos Ferrari. He has been around a long time and has done a ton of surgery. I had my sleeve done with him in July. No problems. I know that the Surgery was around 8,900. My insurance covered 80% . At that price that is close to what you are paying for lap band. I go to many support groups and there is so many people that have had the lap band removed and now have done the Sleeve. I would talk to him first before paying for the lap band. Good luck.

I eat Tofu Shirataki. You have to try it. You can find it next to the tofu in the produce area in Krogers and Safeway. It is so good. It is like spagetti and you can even stir fri it with veggies. My husband and son love it too. I really stay away from the high carbs like pasta so this has been a savor.

I totally understand. I am 3 months post sleeve op. I had the jitters too and actually most everyone seems to have some kind of anxiety. If you talk to your doctor you will see that the statistics are very low. They do so many of these sleeve operations these days. I had to look at where I was with my health and weigh the pros and cons. I have an 8 year old that I wanted to be around for and my health was really taking a beating. I have to say it was the best decision of my life and would do it again in a heart beat. Like you that was the only thing I was scared of. Not waking up. One thing I did was make sure I had things in place like our Will and What if something happened and I felt much more releaved walking into Surgery. You will do fine and keep positive thoughts. I am 2.5 months post sleeve op. I was told that I was to grind my medicine I take daily right after my surgery. My question is for how long do I have to grind them up. Can I take a solid pill now that I am 2.5 almost 3 months out? Tired of having to swallow the power instead of it being solid.

Chap stick. You will have very dry lips when you get out!! Someone wrote that before I went in and I could not believe how true!!

I am 2.5 months post op. I had a very large hiatal hernia. I also had acid reflux. I had sleeve surgery and my doctor here in Houston said nothing about that being an issue. The surgery and the removal of the hiatal hernia has made all my acid go away. It is amazing it is like it was a cure. I am super happy and doing well. I bet you will be just fine. Good luck.

I am 2. 5 months post op. I had the same thing when I was about 2 weeks out. I was thinking that the hunger was very shocking because I thought there would be no hunger.I was quite worried. I read a lot about how it is gas and the gas feels like hunger. I swear it was hunger pains. I can say it goes away. I am now 2.5 months out and I eat every 3 hours. I now do not have hunger until right before the 3 hour mark and sometimes 4 hours. I then eat a 3 to 4 oz of protein or healthy snack and I am just fine. No more hunger pains.

I am 6 weeks post op. I have had no problem with any foods.Knock on wood but I am very careful to always eat 3 the ounces and not over eat. I will say that rice is a no no. So if I was to eat out at Chinese I would have meat and a veggie. Also maybe sauce on side due to the sugar content in the sauce. Eating out is really not as hard as I thought. Ann
