Once the weight comes off your health and confidence will improve! It doesn't matter about the excess skin. Once you fall in love with the right person they will look past those imperfections! Just take it one day at a time.

Tuesday I will be three weeks post- op! I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning. It was a little nerve wracking but once you get in your gown and they get the anesthesia in you...you'll be feeling relaxed!!I'm feeling like my old self again. The first few days were rough but you'll do fine. Make sure you have a buddy or two to help in and out of the hospital. Good luck and God bless.

No, I lost 56 pounds total...actually 60 now that I'm almost three weeks post-op. That combined my pre and post efforts. I have lost 25 since my surgery and the rest was pre-op. Yea, I'm starting to really notice the change in my middle. Very exciting. This week I'm going to step up the exercise...I'm finally meeting my nutritional goals and things are looking up. :-)

On Tuesday I will be three weeks post-op. Luckily I get six weeks to recoup. At the minimum I would suggest two weeks. The first week was rough. I spent most of my days in pain, resting and tryin to eat and get some walking in to keep my body moving. The second week I was still in pain but it was greatly reduced. My incision started leaking too..it does that in the healing process. Each day you get stronger and better...but I definitely think two weeks is best. Everyone's journey is different though. Good luck.

You will need two weeks minimum! After surgery you'll be weak and in lots of pain. You'll need time to rest and recoup. Not to mention you'll need time to learn how to eat and use your new stomach.

Thanks ladies! My highest size was a 30/32 and I was "stuffed" into it. Now they fit me better but just thought Id be out of it by now. I know I didn't put on this weight over night so I shouldn't expect to drop sizes over night. :-) it's encouraging to know I'm not the only one. All of you are inspirational!! Keep up the awesome work.

I'm officially two weeks post-op today and have lost 56 pounds with pre and post op combined. My frustration is I haven't dropped a clothing size yet. Very upsetting :'( it really puts a negative spin on things.

I haven't been out to eat yet as I'm only 2 weeks post- op tomorrow but I always keep Cracker Barrell in mind because they have lots of veggies like carrots and meshed potatoes that cash be easily mushed with a fork. Also their rainbow trout is delish and could probably be easily flaked and mushed.

You should be honest and let them know. It will give them time to adjust their schedules while you're gone. If they aren't understanding then look for a job while you recoup after surgery.

I had this same issue today! :'( I can barely sit down. From now on I'm using fiber supplements A.K.A Meta-Mucil and pureed fruits and veggies.

Congrats! I had my breast reduction in January 2007. I do not regret it! I went from a DDD to a D. I'm much happier now. I was in pain for a good week or so but overall I had no issues. Good luck with your surgery and God Bless.

Check with your dietician. I was three days post-op and spoke with my dietician because I was hungrey for something savory, warm and filling. She suggested Tomato Soup and or any Soup blended into a baby food consistency. Campbell's Healthy request Tomato with one can of 1% milk worked like a charm for me. One can will make three meals or so. I also like Progresso split pea with bacon. It blends up fine and curbs cravings. Good luck

After trying lots of Protein shakes and wasting money...I've found Premier Protien shakes. I purchased them at Sams Club. A box of twelve was $16.29 which comes to about $1.35 per shake. I've only seen chocolate and vanilla. I like them because theyre already mixed. Just store in the fridge or pour over ice and enjoy! They are very smooth and mild. The chocolate is my favorite. It tastes like Yoo-Hoo.
Each 11oz serving has 30 grams Protein and 160 calories.

Hey Tanya! I am less than two weeks post-op and have lost 20 pounds. Altogether I've lost 56 pounds since January 2013. It's been a rough road so far but so worth it! Make sure you have a strong support system before surgery. My sister is my bestie and I thank God she was there for me with every step.
I still get strong food cravings and I have to tell myself NO! I remind myself why I've come this far and that I'm not even half way there to my goal yet. The surgery will help control your physical eating but not your mental eating habits. Start finding activities that you can occupy yourself with before and after surgery. I never realized how strong of a hold food had on me until I couldn't eat it when I craved it. I was so emotionally attached to it...really sad. I just remind myself that this time next year I will be healthier and happier riding all the fun rides I've been missing, swimming, biking, hiking and yes good will still be there but it won't control me any more! I will eat but balance the food with all of my new activities.
You're headed in the right direction. You will have your ups and downs but stay strong and keep pulling thru. Remember why you're doing this. :-)
Good luck and God Bless.

I had to do an 8 day pre-op liquid diet. The first few days were really rough for me and I broke down and ate a can of green Beans only two days in. Then I talked to my dietician and she said I could eat yogurt and no sugar added applesauce. Check with your dietician to see if you can eat something when those cravings attack. It's no burger but it does the trick. Good luck with your surgery and God Bless!
