CONGRATS ON THE WEIGHT LOSS. 35 lbs in 2 months is HUGE!!!!!!! Be proud of yourself!!!!! If you just had surgery you should not be eating pizza or chicken wings. Usually in a sleeve your indicator of OVEREATING - is when you feel nauseated and uncomfortable. Most times you should be able to vomit easily. Run a little Water, rinse your mouth out - swallowing a little that will further overflow the pouch and make it easy to release. This should not be a normal occur acne but I do know how uncomfortable it feels when you need to vomit and can't. Know your limits. Measure your food. Chart your food plan for the day. PROTECT YOUR POUCH!!!! Your sleeve can take you anywhere you want to go if you trust it and let it, but you have to be committed to the changes it will require you to make. Stay away from bread and greasy foods it makes you feel and react awful!!!
  2. No worries - MY BAND TO SLEEVE was the best thing that ever happened to me. I loss the remainder weight so fast. The only thing to consider is - DO YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER YOUR EATING HABITS. Do you realize these are just tools and that you have to modify your your eating habits and commit to the change for the remainder of your life. If all this is ago, the risk should be just as minimal as the lap band. I hated my band. The feeling if food being stuck, the panics of thinking I was having a heart attack with no matter what I ate and the constant dumping.......GO FOR IT, I promise you it will take you into a realm you may never have thought possible. I weighed 240 pre band and 215 pre sleeve. I have maintained 135 to 140 for 4 years focusing on making sure I didn't get too small. WHAT AN ISSUE TO HAVE, right?????? Let me know how it goes!!!!!

10/11/2013 Will be my Two years out from Surgery

No, I don't want to smack you but I would have preferred it in the beginning while I was still in drastic weight loss mode - now I think I am at my plateau so my body doesn't seem to be responding. I am considering a 609 calorie a day diet. It will be difficult because I know I probably eat about 1200 calories a day at 4 years out....

    Leave My Food ALONE!

I stopped the medicine and I thought the weight gain might stop but it has continued.

My surgeon relocated from my area but I am working closely with my primary care doctor. She seems to believe the thyroid medicine caused the weight gain my stopping my metabolism. However I stopped the medicine two months ago and still have been gaining.

  7. I am desperate so here it goes........I am approx 4 years out from my sleeve surgery. I thought I was doing good and my biggest issues was how to gain weight. My original weight PreOp was 240 lbs - 4 months ago I had maintained 135 to 145 lbs for 3 1/2 years. Friday i will be 44 years old. Although I thought I was dealing with anxiety for all of 2012 this year I was finally diagnosed with an over active thyroid. In 4 months I have gained 50lbs and now weigh 191 as of doctors visit yesterday. I am devastated am desperate to get the weight off but I have no idea what to do. I was wearing a size 2-4 and now I need all new clothes including my undies.......I am embarrassed and have been spending a large amount of time inside. Everyone keeps saying the extra weight looks good but I know better. My health is at risk and I feel like I have somehow failed. Anybody have a similar experience or care to provide some advice?
  8. Yes - they are the ones that gave me the medicine that I think made me gain the weight. I stopped taking it after I gained 30lbs. I guess it was too late because the weight gain continued. I tried to lower my calories as I use to - 700 calories for me in a day use to be no problem but after that medication I now seem to be hungry all the time. While I still it small quantities and small amounts with each setting, I eat more now that I use to and my pouch - most times has no issue. I eat about 6/8 ounces maybe depending on what it is - however the body craves items that are easily liquified and I am conscientious of that aspect.

    Leave My Food ALONE!

I think so, it's the only logical explanation I have. I am still eating the same way as I have been for 4 years.....

    I hate eating.

Whatever you do PROTECT YOUR SLEEVE!!!!! I use to think it couldn't be stretched, but now I am convinced. I use to be able to eat 1/2 egg and part if a sausage for Breakfast now I can eat two of each. The more get in the hungrier you can get the more you can gain due to I creased amounts if calories. BE CAREFUL - I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. I wish I could go back and change some if the decisions I made early on. Change your eating habits while you are still not that interested in eating. Protect the pouch to ensure limited stretching. Develop a process that will work for you longterm. DON'T TAKE THE SLEEVES CAPABILITIES FIR GRANTED!!!! I did and now I can't stop the weight gain. Be proud of how far you have come and know where you want to go and what you need to sacrifice to stay there when you arrive..........BECAUSE YOU WILL ARRIVE!! Bbn
