    Can I smack someone?

Bright, that sucks! Just what you need, extra stress while going through this. So not fun. I feel bad for them being overwhelmed like that. But if they are that busy, maybe the doctor's office should hire more people, since that is how they get their money.

You are in my prayers. I understand. I have been doing this since May. It is very stressful. I was approved a few days ago, but still do not have my date. grrrr. I still think this is the most emotionally stressful period of the process, the not knowing.
  3. Hidden, We started out on our journey about the same time. My info session was mid May. And though in the Cincinnati area, I think your first insurance coordinator and mime are the same person. I have had more problems with her. She is nice, but doesn't call back when she said she would, etc. Also, the reason it took longer to approve is that my insurance company didn't have my FREAKING height. Grrr. My nerves before yesterday felt like someone had used a cheese grater on them. And now I am waiting for her to set up a date. We are going out of town end of this month to see our great niece who was just born, so I am delaying the surgery until the second week of November, so I won't be on a liquid diet on the road. My husband is from NJ and his family still live there so we visit often. It is a beautiful state. We live in Northern KY near Cincinnati and I have Aetna insurance.
  4. Prayers sent your way that you will recover quickly and get the results that you hope for. Good luck today!
  5. Congrats! I got the news about the same time that I was approved. It is like a weight lifted off my chest. I still do not have a date, but should get one today. I can't believe you got in so soon after approval! Good luck on your surgery and your journey!
  6. I was approved! Yeah!! I just got off the phone with my insurance company and they said I was approved. Next, is trying to get a hold of my insurance coordinator to set up a date. lol I know... good luck with that one. But I think eventually she will get back to me. I hope. In the meantime, I am both nervous and very happy! A load has been lifted off my chest. And this feels more real now. Thanks all who have listened to me...er...let's say lament, instead of the B word. You have been great and I do appreciate the support. I think this part was the hardest. (I will probably revise my thinking when going through the two weeks of liquid diet before surgery.)
  7. Have you ever been diagnosed with Raynaud's disease or bad circulation? I have Raynaud's Syndrome and occasionally get something like you described, especially if my hands get cold or body gets cold. I heard of others that got Raynaud's after the surgery. Sorry you are feeling this way. I hope it improves soon.

I am so sorry. That is just stressful. Have you tried calling them?
  9. Congrats Skinny Scarlett on getting approved! That is half the battle. I too was approved today and am waiting to hear from my surgeon's office to see when I can get the operation. Also, welcome to the forum. These are some very good people that are supportive and can get you some good information. Good luck on your journey!

    Can I smack someone?

Hmm, Mouse, that is a tough one. I have had experience with teenage girls. I have two older daughters, they were MUCH easier than my son. Besides, I have noticed, at least with my daughters, girls handle teenage years by crying, while boys punch walls. But I do like golden retrievers. Toss up. lol

    Can I smack someone?

chef, thanks for the encouragement. I found I actually enjoy the gym, which came as a total shock to me. I go there most days and it has helped me lose weight. And I am with you on the crap. I tried all different kinds of whey Protein. I thought the last one who really enjoyed whey was lil Miss Muffett. I then tried Syntrax nectar and found it tastes pretty good in milk. So, been doing two of them a day.

    Can I smack someone?

Boy. My only one and youngest. There is a reason that the last one is the LAST one. Interested? I will throw in a 18 year old wardrobe consisting of levis and t-shirts, and that's not all! Call now and you will also get get one obnoxious cat that he belongs to as well. Limited time offer since he will do something nice and I will forgive him for being a jerkface.

    Can I smack someone?

But I just used my smack for the doctor's insurance coordinator! I don't get another one. Seriously, thanks for the encouragement. It is nice to know I am not the only one that have the been through the depths of insurance hell and that a few have gotten out of it.

Awww. You can be my friend any day! I would even split my Double Stuffed Cookie nectar Syntrax with you! Now that is a true friend.
  16. That is so funny that you ask that. Today I heard the song, "Your Body is a Wonderland," and now all I can think of is how we refer to it on here. And congrats on almost having your body be a Onederland!

    A Funny

I have been discussing with my husband, who is anti-tattoo, about me getting a small tattoo after I lost my weight. Today, I saw a cartoon where an elderly lady is getting a flag tattoo put on her arm and underneath it said something like, "Madge figured her upper arm was going to flap. She may as well be patriotic about it." Yes! My new tattoo!

Grrr..get it straight! Its Vertical Gastrectomy NOT bypass!

You are doing great! Congrats on the weight loss. Your doctors not knowing about the surgery would concern me. However, others are idiots at times. It sounds like your friend was trying to make you feel inferior. It is hard being surrounded by people who do not want you to succeed. Mentally, put her face on a dartboard and thrown darts at it. Then, go on and smile knowing you are doing great and will soon reach your goal and she can be even more jealous of you! Seriously, grats on doing great! You rock!

    Alcohol

My NUT suggested that you don't drink at least for the first year after being sleeved. And then to try a little to see if you can tolerate it. Check with your doctor, of course, first. Some people can tolerate it okay, while others cannot.

    Pre-Op Diet

I am jealous of you for being able to eat veggies. I get 14 days of full liquid, with sugar free Jello being the "crunchiest" thing on the menu. That being said, you seem to have it under control. Good job!
