I'm in KC. Sleeved 12/3 by Dr. Hoehn. My only regret is that I didn't do this 10 years ago! -
December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
ChangingMichelle replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey December Sleevers! I'm so excited I had to share! First stats - Sleeved 12/3 - Starting weight 271 - Surgery weight 239 - Today's weight 219. You know those couple of expensive, classic dresses/pants etc you've kept in your closet for 10+ years -just in case you ever get back to a smaller size? (Or perhaps you've subconsciously kept them for mental torture reminding you of what you no longer are?) I tried them on this morning... And THEY FIT!!!! ( With some room to spare!) I've gone from a tight size 20 to a... 14. Amazing! My reaction is odd tho... Excited but very teary at the same time. I've got to look into what this emotion is I guess! I should also mention, I'm starting to get a lot of the "OMG you look great" comments from coworkers and them asking me to share what I've been doing. So far I've just been saying I've assembled a WL team of doctor, nutritionist and trainer and working hard. It's not a lie... Just not the whole truth. we'll see how long I can get away with that! To those of you just sleeved or still struggling hang in there! I'm cheering for ya! This journey is amazing! -
2lb gain at 10 days post op?
ChangingMichelle posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was sleeved on 12/3 and other than some crazy nausea at the hospital, I've had no issues. I've been walking everyday, no pain or pain meds needed. At my one week pre-op appt I had lost 13lbs. Today I got on the scale and GAINED 2lbs. How is that even possible at this stage? I'm bummed. Can it be a stall already? :-( [stats: SW:271 PreOp:239 1wkPostOp: 226 Today:228] -

Thanks all! It does help to know I'm not alone. I am a perfectionist by nature (literally) so I find this maddening! Good thing I see my therapist tomorrow. LOL -

I'm a December 3rd sleever and I probably could have easily went back to work today, but I took two weeks off and plan to use it. Although I feel great I do think I would be exhausted working all day at this point. Good luck to those going back to the grind this week! -

Hi all! Was sleeved yesterday and getting ready to be discharged from the hospital any minute now. Everything went well, but I did have some wicked nausea. I'm a little surprised that I can move around so well. Ready for my own bed and get some uninterrupted rest. -

Let's stay in touch for sure! ???? I met with my surgeon on Monday for the final pre-op meeting and now I'm even more excited. I'm not so excited about the shakes. I'm starting to get very very sick of them - blech. I keep telling myself this is temporary so I need to just "Suck It Up". I hope you are doing well with your pre-op. December 3rd will be here soon! -

Man, this 6th day on the liquid diet is tough. I made it through but I've been thinking about food ALL DAY! I ended up cleaning out my closet and going to Goodwill. I've lost almost 27 lbs pre-op now and I'm getting rid of all the "fat clothes". It kept my mind off eating and was somewhat liberating. How am I going to do this another week with Thanksgiving??? Ugh! -

Liquid Diet Diarrhea
ChangingMichelle replied to Smooth_Sleever229's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, thanks for posting! I'm on day 5 for the liquid diet and all of a sudden... These posts are so helpful! -
Surgery date of December 3rd! Excited, terrified, relieved, nervous, happy, scared, thrilled, freaked out..... ahhhhh! I've never had anything more serious than a sprained ankle so far. Several risk factors are on the high end though. It would really just be a matter of time until some of the health issues surface if I stayed on this track. Hi. I'm Michelle. I'm 42 years old, 5"6 and was at 271 lbs. when I started this journey in April. I'm now at 247 lbs. (trying to establish some good habits now before surgery). I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone. My family is in another state and I don't want too many to know about this procedure. I'm going to need the support here. I travel a lot for work so going to group meetings won't be likely. Nice to meet you all!
