washinginwa replied to ladybird's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Ladybird, I kinda get stuck in ruts of eating the same meals a lot. Breakfast 1 egg scrambled or hand boiled eaten slowly and a fruit. Lunch-Small salad 2oz chicken, feta, and 3 bean salad, low calorie dressing and a small fruit or SF pudding. dinner 3-4 oz Protein, 1/4 carb (potatoe or WW noodles) whatever my DH is having and small salad or portion of veggies). My afternoon break at work I have a protein and carb (string cheese/celery or cheese and 8 ww wheat thins. In the evening I usually have a couple of small peppermint patties or SF ice bar or SF fudge sicle. Now weekend I'm not that good. Did you have a good eating weekend? TTYL- -

Who Should I Pick In Mexico?
washinginwa replied to queenie's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi- I'm a fan of Dr. Ortiz and the OCC. My DH and I felt total comfort with the experience and I'm sure you will too. I've had two fills at the OCC and I live in Washington State so it's an expense to get to the clinic but I think it's well work it. Good Luck ;D -
Calling all "apples"
washinginwa replied to Foofy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
FOOFY- I had long leg, no butt and a muffin top. Two weeks ago had extended tummy tuck, butt lift and fat lipo from my back added to my butt. I also had a breast lift with small implants. I feel great and for the first time in 20 years I have a flat belly!! Even when you lose all your weight sometimes you still not fit your skin any more. Good Luck -
Hey- I agree with the other you look great. If your unsure if you could/should lose more weight you might have your body fat tested. Good way to see what's under the skin. Create a great day!

Hi all you fourty-somethings, I'm 46 year old Connie from Washington State, I'm coming to fun part of WLS. I'm scheduled for a TT and Breast work on February 14, 2008. The best Valentines ever!! My end goal weight now is 160; when I had WLS I thought my goal weight was 150, but I think that's a little light for me, I'm 5'9 and larger bone structure. Have any of you changed the end goal weight? Create a great day!! Connie

Beating the ODDS 100% Goal. Help needed
washinginwa replied to beth122's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi There, You can see the stats, my goal is also 110 pounds. I'm 80 down now and I'm plugging away. I think the most important ingredient is exercise. Most folks that aren't to successful admitt they aren't getting enough exercise. Going into it with eyes wide open and goal in mind, I 'm sure you'll do great!! -
Just a question. Is everyone exercising (really sweating). Remember the band is a tool only. In my pre-fill stage and even sometimes now I always measure and weigh my food, and when I eat slow, chewing, and eat the Protein first I can usually feel satisfied. Just stick with it we'll there!!
-
I was under the understanding I was to eat my 4 oz of Protein first and then my veggies and fruit as I had room. That how I generally eat my lunch and dinner. Good Luck-Hope the unfill does the trick for you.
-
I totally understand what your saying!!! I still don't have a lot of self-control when I comes to fast food, so I never eat fast food by myself. I have more control when I'm w/ a friend or my DH. You might try eating at home if your not with a buddy (supportive buddy). Keep up the good fight! Connie

Please share your tips for battling head hunger.
washinginwa replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My too bits, I tend to crave sweets at night, I think because I'll off work and kinda bored. So, I started working out at night instead of the morning and I brush my teeth after eating. These things help me. -
I did it! I did it! Wore a bikini in public!!
washinginwa replied to Jachut's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
YOU LOOK SOOOOO GOOD! It's so nice to read and see a success story, sometimes these lap-band site can be pretty depressing. You cause me to really believe all the hard work and money will be worth it. Thanks so much for sharing, it's just what I needed today. Connie -
Just wondering, Have you re-evaluation the basic lap band rules? Are you eating your Protein first? Exercising? Avoiding drink with meals and up to one hour later? I'm only guessing I'm certainly not a pro at this. Hope this helps? Connie
-
I had a fill at 8 weeks and I'm schedule for another one Oct 8, so that's 5 months between fills. I've talked to a lady on-line who lost 100+ pounds and only had one fill. I think the secret is to try to practice good eating habits early, as soon possible to use the band as one of the tools of weight lose not the ONLY tool. OMHO Good Luck! Connie

This is a tough time, but it passes really quickly! I stopped watching TV for about month because I couldn't stand all the food advertisments(everything looked so good). Instead, I walked twice a day and went to work and I went to bed early. Nights were the hardest/lonest time. Pretty soon you'll see and feel your weigh loss and food isn't the most important thing in your life. GIVE IT TIME-I PROMISE IT WILL GET BETTER. Connie
-
SCANJ05, I'm sorry your family isn't behind you. But, remember the choice of lap-band surgery is your!! I think most family member are scared of the up the coming surgery. Also, unless your over weigh or been over weigh I don't think anyone can fully understand our struggles. The pursuit of a health weight has to come from within. I'm very happy with the band.
-
Jack- GREAT JOB!! I bet you look fantastic. By the way I really enjoy reading your advice on these threads, you seems to know just what to say to make a point or give support. Thanks-Connie

ccollins511, If your like me you'll come home really excited/scared. After I went the the introduction siminar I had my surgery 3 weeks later, I was self-pay so no insurance approvals. I've been so pleased with my band and my weight loss so far. Good Luck to you!! Keep us posted.
