washinginwa replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Rain- Great job you should be proud of yourself! Feeling good about yourself and your progress will take you a long ways towards your goal. It's also wonderful that exercise is going to be an important part of you WL future. You'll find the exercise really helps keep you on track as well as making your body tone up fast. Anyway-thats been my experience. Keep It Up!!!:clap2: Connie -

It was truly onederful and rewarding all in one. I laughed and cried both. I haven't seen under 200 for sooooo long. The lap band has been great for me!!!

I told DH and family before surgery. But, since then I've been so happy with my results and weight loss is very noticable when people asked how I lost so much weight I feels like it's a lie to say "I just got self-control". I've struggled with my weight for years and if you'd know earlier how wonder the lapband was from a friend, I maybe could have started the LB journery years sooner. If I can help one overweight person with my experience I'll be pleased. But, I also let people know it still takes a ton of hard work, LB IS A TOOL not a cure. That's my two-cents-Connie

Hi, I'm very sorry your having a rough time. I'd seek help from your doctor as well as stop eating earlier in the evening and maybe rinsing your pouch with Water before bed. I personally haven't had this problem but I did read that sometime people for gotten some relief trying these things. Good Luck-Connie

Do whatever you need to do. I was afraid to tell DH because I (we) were self-pay and it was soooo much money I felt so selfish. But, I got over that and thought whats co-pay on a heart attack or stoke. I then asked my whole family for support!! I'm glad I need. Best Wishes, Connie

washinginwa replied to amethystlady's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello, My insurance company wouldn't help with my surgary or anything else to do with obesity. But, obesity is recognized by the IRS so I was able to get a tax break by using my flex spend account for surgery. Good luck to you. Connie -

Hi- I only walked for 6 weeks. But, after that I've done crunches and other strenghtening exercises 3-5 times a week with no problems. Good luck-I'm glad you hear your interested in exercising. I read a lot of post complaining of slow and stalled weight loss but often they admitt exercising hasn't been a priorty. Connie -
How many days before going back to work?
washinginwa replied to Pam in MI's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on a Thursday and took the entire next week off. I could have went back to work on Tuesday had, no pain or ill side effects other then being hungery. Being off for a week gave me some time to start walking, which I started twice a day and some extra time to focus on me. Not much help am I?? -
