Frigid morning. Doorbell rings and it is a neighbor Stopping by to say hello. Lovely! She also has brought coffee and a donut for both of us. I declined the donut, feeling all virtuous while enjoying the coffee which I don't have often. About half way through, she says she is glad I like regular coffee. Well no wonder I loved it. Sugar and whole milk - who wouldn't. Of course,I finished every last drop and had more carbs than I usually have all day, much less at 9 AM. Set the carb monster loose but I got through without too much more damage.

Best and worst "compliments"
onsummit replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Saw an old acquaintance at a party. As she passed our table, I got up to greet her and she kept walking. As I said her name, she looked at me blankly and then jumped in shock. She said she had seen my husband and had imagined the worst that he was accompanied by another woman. What a thrill. I've become the other woman in just better than 6 months. -
Couldn't see all the fat before and can't see that so much of it is gone
onsummit posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I mean, I knew I was big. How big I had no idea until 84 pounds went missing. Six months out, and I feel exactly the same. People tell me I don't look the same and I take their word for it. Just went shopping for the Christmas roast. 7 pounds. A large piece. Shocking to realize I've lost 12 such large pieces with at least 4 more to go. -
Christmas - New Year Challenge

First a gain; now a stall. 203 this morning. -
A week out seems too early to be worried about 3 solid meals. Work on the water, the protein ( shakes would be the way to go at this point ) Much more than that will be difficult. Perhaps pudding, a little mashed potato.

Tastes Of Food? Better Or Worse?
onsummit replied to Borders3's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I find that food tastes a little flat. Not distasteful, just disappointing. Maybe just as well. -

What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
onsummit replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanksgiving was amazing. Sat between my little grandsons which was great by itself. But by the time I finished cutting up their food, the platter passing was over and everyone was eating so my smaller portion of turkey seemed ok even to me. And then, the drama! My wedding and engagement rings just slipped off my finger. Found fortunately but everyone be careful. Also know the hotel robe that never fit. Well it does now. Since I can't see the weight loss In the mirror or in my head, I love these NSVs. -

Is Starbucks Bad And Evil?
onsummit replied to VSGNeophyte's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A daily trip to Sbux has been part of our daily routine for years. It would be unfair to my husband not to go. They sell bottled cold water and I occasionally will have a tall coffee with Splenda and ft free milk. Then I discovered another option. Buy the water, get a cup of ice and fill it with a Pure Protein shake. Sip and enjoy. Bring the water home. Win-Win. -
Down to 212. Creeping along to Thanksgiving. I want to meet that goal.

Im at the jiggly belly stage. You?
onsummit replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jiggly barely describes it. I have lost 70 pounds, am down several sizes. I can't really see the difference and feel fatter than before the surgery. My jello-ness and excess skin is daunting. This surgery is the best thing I have ever done and I regret not doing it sooner, but I wonder how long it will take to feel freer of the fat. I still am 30 or so pounds from goal .
