the dreaded 3rd week stall
ItzKat replied to TBodmer71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hang in there, you are doing all the right things, you just have to give your body time to catch up. -
I have been telling people that I am working with a nutritionist and exercising... which is true. Once I got my surgery date, I just told them that I needed time off work for medical reasons. I don't plan to tell them anything. I work in a large office with mostly techy guys. They won't be in my business much.

Approved hospital stay question!
ItzKat replied to Kelsnikol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read somewhere today that women should be prepared for their period. Evidently it is not uncommon for the surgery to bring it on out of cycle. -
Can I have milk on pre-op diet?
ItzKat replied to jlw1324's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For my diet, three times a day I drink one meal replacement shake (must be at least 15g of protein but no more than 7g of sugar) plus one 8 oz glass of skim milk with a cup of broth or yogurt for snack. -
Finally got a surgery date! But how was your liquid diet
ItzKat replied to RedyRed's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was seriously surprised how easy the pre-op diet has been for me. Of course, not the first couple of days... that was the hardest part. But after that I realized I wasn't really physically hungry, I just wanted to grab stuff and eat it which is really the type of habits I need to break. So once I got past that, the diet was really easy. I am on day 6 of a 14 day program. I am using the time to try out all the different protein drinks. I really like the EAS low carb Chocoate Royale ready made shakes and the Unjury Vanilla shake. -
Yes!! When I get fine I am going to finally buy a little black dress!
-
wow that is such a difference. Great job so far.

Yiles is right. I hadn't heard this part yet. Adding this to the list of questions for the doctor.

Hi all, I am Kat. I live in Texas but work in IT for a computer storage device company in California so I get to travel constantly (which I love). I have two grown kids and a wonderful guy that keeps me sane. I have always been on the heavy side of life and I am not expecting to be a skinny minny from all this, but I am looking for the solution to my up and down history of weight loss.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
ItzKat replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have to travel a great deal for work and I was sitting in the airport one day and realized that I was the largest person in the waiting area. It depressed me because I have tried so many different programs before and always gained the weight back. Then about two weeks later my cardiologist (treating me for a genetic heart disease) told me that even though my heart disease is the number one cause of sudden cardiac arrest, my weight was the biggest threat to my health. That did it for me.
