its not a lumbar pillow its a back rest for the bed. As for everything else you look like your set. The wheelchair thing is a bit excessive. I have heard that one person had a walker and I think that it would have helped out alot. But I did ok without it. Just wanted everyone to know that I made Dinner tonight and even did the dishes. And no pain meds x3 days

I had kidney stones last year and was vomiting for a week . So now before any surgery I get an unfill ,just in case of nausea after surgery. MY doc's ok with it he says that after 2 years you get to know your body and what you can and cannot do. TO get unfilled was MY idea.

Pacomomma replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I bought myself a new Ford Escape 4WD when I hit my 100 pound mark. -
I have 1.5 in my band . been up to 2 but did not like the restriction. ok at 1.75 now due to surgery I am totally unfilled, wil getrefilled this coming week. Fills are a personal thing and really should not be compared with each other.

oh sweetie, You are going to need some help for the first few days even if a friend comes over seeral times a day to help. I am sleeping on a incline .You know those backrest pillows for you bed,The kind with arms ? Thats what I am sleeping up on along with 3 pillows on the one side and a rolled up pillow under my knees. Please take an old pillow and wrap in up in a roll then place in a pillow case. works wonders at relieving stress on your incision and also helps you from falling down in the bed when you are sleeping.I also have a large bedside table so everything can go there and I placed a plastic storage bin by the side on my bed to use as a step to help getting in and out of bed with,(This I learned at the hospitalafter surgery)Also my PS told me that whenever I am sitting down to try to keep my legs bent,to keep tension off the incision. Today,5/27 I want to go out and do something but I am under orders from my children not to do anything. I am getting very bored here today I plan to sit in my chair for as long as I can. The bed is starting to get annoying. I starting to get prepped 4 days prior to surgery.

HI Tztmama I just had surgery on 5/21 went home later that evening . on percocet and antibiotics. had my drains removed on 5/25 but I will not lie the first morning was awful. I stayed in bed and just got up to go to the bathroom. But on Fridy I went to the doc and then went to Walmart and rode around in the motorized cart. please take this advice. For the first few days take the pain med as directed. I was to take 1-2 every 6 hours .I took 1 every 6 hours and it was a big help. When I did get dressed on Friday I put on a pair of yoga capri pants and they were very large on me . I just tried on my uniform pants and they are roomer than normal but then again I am still swollen. My PS told me to take it slow and he said that I should be seeing improvement in the way my clothes fit soon. As for school go out and get MED stretch cotton pants. You do not want anything tight or binding due to the nerves as Spider said. Just remember that this is a MAJOR surgery and it take time to heal. IF I can help you at all please feel free to contact me. best of luck.

had surgery on the 21st . Lost 6 lbs from the removal of extra skin. since then kinda doing the lying around in bed. I did do the pill pop every 6 hours. yesterday I went to walmart ,5 days out of surgery and made it from the parking lot to a motorized shopping cart. then went home and did a 3 hour happy nappy. 5/26 got to take a shower and just about fainted getting dressed. I though exercise would help with recovery. This sitting around thing is for the birds.

Carnataion Instant Breakfast Carb Conscious

I used whateer brand I could find . I added 1/4 cup of nonfat powder milk and made it with skim milk to keep the calories down are you buying the one in the blue box(sugar free) . If you mix w/powder milk and make w/skim the protein count is about 15 per serving. With the vanilla one try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to it . delish! -
today I had my drains removed and of my.... My stomach is flat I never, ever had a flat belly before. I do have to tell ya that when the doc pulled out the drains.. It felt like giving birth ,except it was over in a second. And then I made the mistake to go and pick up a few things at Walmart. Thank goodness they have those little motorized carts to run around in . My belly button is cute now ,I have to go to the PS again on Tuesday but so far so good and Today was the first day that I did not take any pain medication. below is a pic of my extra skin fell free to look

How long to return to work?
Pacomomma replied to SuperKawaii's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work in a doctors office and went back to work in 10 days. But I was cutting my living room carpet up 3 days out from surgery. Please take it slow and don't force yourself to return -
I am very happy to have had the band placed. As to your disappointment about not losing weight with out a band .The band is a tool it is not a cure all, believe me I have lost weight and have gained some back even with the band. If you don't change your eating habits and food choices you might not lose weight with the band. Please remember that the band is a tool to HELP you . And keep up with the exercise and water intake and I think you will be happy that you made the choice to take action to a happy and healthy new you. Good Luck

I am addicated to the Lipton white tea Tangerine mmmmm very tasty. also The apple chips are great too. I am looking for the raspberry tea . I think I will go to Sams tomorrow.

I did not do any of that I even used cornstarch powder to help keep it dry. REally if your skin is always in contact with other skin in a warm, moist place ,yes an infection will occur. but you really don't need to harm yourself by not rinsing soap or no showering,(just think of your friends and family )9 days until everything from the belly button down is gone

I started my documentation very early on with my surgeon ,every month I went in to get a fill I told him about the redness and rash that was under my Right side of my belly. My PS told me that he will tighten the muscles as during the consult he felt a separation in my stomach muscles. I do know that I am getting a incision from hipbone to hipbone and will have 3 jackson-pratt drains . also when I had my PS consult the surgeon took pictures of my abdomen, the rashy area and sent them with the letter to insurance company. hope this helps.

Did you tell anyone before surgery, and do you tell people now?
Pacomomma replied to Sedonagirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Now after a year has gone by and ilost 100lbs. I am willing to talk about my surgery. If they ask how I lost the weight I tell them. you may be suprised at how many people are thinking about surgery. If you are not a very outgoing person this may be uncomfortable for you. In my case, 3 people are now starting the process for surgery because they saw my progress . I work in a doctors office and one of the doctors will only send people for banding . Think about it , you can actually help people.
