You look fantastic, are you glad you had it the same time as your friend ? How is she doing ? My husband and I are also 4 mths out we had ours the same day.
-
Sorry I sent that before I read all of the updates. Glad you went down a size and also grabbed another pr in blue. Hard for our heads to get around the fact we continually need to down size.
-
Colour is fine but the top and the pants look like you could still go down a size in both. You are looking fantastic

Yes we took the Supradyn for the first 2 weeks after surgery as advised by our Dr

Eas advantedge carb control protein shakes
ausmith replied to gettinMeBack's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I do this also but I use the plain protein powder, 1shot of espresso and then top up the espresso by adding ice cold water to make 240ml. Then blend it up in the ninja yum -
Thanks Misty I was worried about the increase of 400 in one go so we will try 200 over 3 weeks and see how that goes for him and then another 200 after that if he is still losing. There will be no ice cream or chocolate in the house until I'm as close to maintenance as he is which I'm thinking will be another 4 mths if things continue to go the way they have.

You look amazing
-
Wow you look amazing. Funny I looked at your full length photo and thought the photo of you in jeans was me. That was my typical dress style summer the only change would have been 3/4 leggings instead of the jeans. Then I looked at your now photo and it made me sooooooo excited to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel to get into a dress like that. I'm at 4mths and down 62 and working on losing another 60. So thanks for showing me how great it can look.

How many calories a day at 3 months?
ausmith replied to CrissyRing77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I'm between 800 and 900 I try not to be in the upper to often. I am at 4mths and have lost about 62lb. I also walk for an hr each day. -
Thanks I will, just waiting to hear from the nut. I have been back through all the info we got from her and from what I can see it says at about 9 mths we should go to about 1200 cal. I'm guessing this would have been when the expectation would have been for us to get to goal or close to it. So if we don't hear back from her by the time he hits 80kg. Which I think will be the end of this week at the rate he is losing. He will increase to 1200 from 800 by including an extra snack and then see how that goes. Ahh I just have to make sure that I don't slip into the extra snack behavior as I am just over 1/2 way and still plenty lose. Will let you know how he goes.

Hi everyone we are now at about 4 mths and I am 1/2 way to my goal and my husband is less than 2kg from goal. I have lost 28.5kg and he has lost just over 43kg. We are both a bit worried about how he will maintain at his goal weight as he doesn't want to go any lower than 80kg. Anyone have any ideas, I'm waiting to hear back from the nutritionist.

accessories for a formal cocktail party - the little black dress
ausmith replied to CowgirlJane's topic in The Gals' Room
Hi Jane when wearing the dress on another occasion try it with a really skinny colored belt. Red or silver would look great, bare legs, black shoes, silver earrings and silver bracelet. It would look amazing. -
Is there anything more depressing...
ausmith replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah I have mine colored every month ( full tint ) I am 4mths out and had it done 3 weeks after surgery. Yes my hair is falling out and yes it's dry but I think it would still be like that regardless of having it colored due to the surgery. I have thin (diameter) hair but lots of it. So hoping it doesn't get to bad before it decides to stop. I have an asymmetric bob so longer at the front and shorter at the back. I'm hoping I can keep this style without it being so obvious that I'm losing my hair. -
Hi I would have a BM after every meal pre surgery and have struggled with at least 1 decent one a week since surgery. Sometimes I have had to take something just to have the 1. This week for my afternoon snack I have juiced 1/2 apple, teaspoon ginger, spinach leaves, 1/2 carrot, 1/2 bok Choy. This has done the trick ! I will stick with this for the week but may add plain protein powder next week.

ausmith replied to longtimecoming7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah he is lucky. WE WILL GET THERE, just might take a little longer. I'm so glad the phsycologist prepared us both for the fact he would lose faster than I would. Keep at it ! -

I know where your coming from. My husband and I were both sleeved on 22/10/13 he has lost almost 85lb and I have lost 55lb. We eat exactly the same food, drink etc the only difference is that he has had to go out for meals with work so some of his choices haven't been as great, yet he is motoring along like a steam train while I am slowly but surely losing. I try to not compare myself to him and be happy and proud of where I'm at but it is hard when I think of all those times I have said no to something. Keep at it you have done an amazing job -
Very funny my husband volunteered me to go first as we were sleeved about 3 hrs apart.

Hi my husband and I were sleeved in Oct 2013 and travelled to London and Paris for a family holiday 6 weeks latter. Make sure you wear your compression socks and drink lots of fluids throughout the flight. Also lots of walking around and moving your legs and arms whilst in your seat. Take your own snacks for the flight that you have already tried so that you are not restricted to what ever they are serving on the plane. For the first time ever we didn't lock in breakfast with our accommodation because it would have been a waste of money. What we did was take shakes and protein bars with us plus we would buy a whole meal toasty with cheese and ham for breakfast remove the crust and share that. Lunch would generally be a soup that we would share and dinner would be a shake or we would order entree size cheese platter or anti pasta plate and share that. It wasn't always easy and that is where the protein bars would come in handy as a replacement if we were out and about and could not find a meal that was suitable. We also had a pit of cruskit's in our room ( not sure what you call them a very light wheat cracker that practically melts in your mouth) and a tub of light Philadelphia cream cheese that was also great in the morning or at night. Also take your own drinking bottle and have it full at all times and drink drink drink during the trip. Hope you have a great time.

Married Couple getting sleeved together?
ausmith replied to MizzouFan1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi my husband and I were done about 3hrs apart. It has been fantastic and has made life so much easier. Same food situations at the same time, exercise you name it. We were done on Oct 22nd 2013, if you can get a family member to help out with you child for a week or 2 long term it makes life easier. Including Dr's appointments and blood test's. -
Also make sure you get any prescriptions that the Dr gives you filled at the hospital pharmacy. Having everything you need at home will make life so much easier for you.
-
Just make sure you have everything you need at home. Panadol, Broth alternative drinks In case you can't tolerate water because you won't feel like going out for a few days. Everything will take twice as long so just take it easy and remember to stay hydrated.

My husband and I were sleeved a couple of hrs apart and we are so glad we did. It's been 13 weeks and we are doing fine. He has lost the weight a lot faster than me he has lost 77 and I have lost 50.5 but it is so much easier having someone who totally understands what you are going through. Good Luck to you both
