Will Hair color/highlights make hair loss worse?
ausmith replied to squeaker31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 11 months out and have my hair colored every 4 weeks and have done so since 2weeks after surgery. It has not increased or decreased hair loss. I guess all you can do is try it and if you feel it has created more hair loss then stop. There was never going to be a reason to stop me coloring my hair, within 4 weeks I'm starting to wear a grey halo -
Kudos to the people doing a two week liquid diet
ausmith replied to mentalistfan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read it and felt the same for you. I wish nothing but success and happiness for you. Don't be a stranger -
I am so happy for you, I was a little worried because we hadn't heard from you. I struggle with the fact your Dr's knew how bad things were for you why didn't they know about your stomach moving so frustrating that they could have fixed that part of it and given you some relief instead of making you deal with the issues you have had for the last 2 yrs. so very glad that life is back on track for you. Good Luck time to make up for those 2 lost years

Becky hoping you are ok and the revision went well

Get your protein through your very low cal high protein drinks like the Syntrex I suggested. It is easier and better for you than eating extra food
-
Buy the Syntrex Nectar and add it to water no carbs and high protein. I count it towards water and Protein. I am totally exceeding my protein quota and stick to 800 cal. ( I like the fuzzy navel the best it's a combination of orange and peach and taste great

Travelling after vsg?
ausmith replied to auntiemel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi my husband and I both flew from Australia to Singapore 2 weeks after we had our surgery. We did have to take blood thinners and wear compression socks. Along with drinking lots of water and getting up and walking around the plane. I suggest you make your Dr aware that you need to fly on that date and work out the best strategy that will work for you. Good Luck -
Thank You so much for the update, great to hear life is going well for you

Long flight~ concerns abt deep vein thrombosis?
ausmith replied to librarianlk's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You will need to wear compression stockings and you will have to do self injection of blood thinners we had to do it for 2 weeks before flight and 10 days after surgery. They also had the automatic leg compression device on us while in hospital. Speak to the Dr now so you are fully prepared. Not something you want to muck around with -

No I think we should leave the bullies comments up here to remind us all what type of people they are and to ensure us and our children never embarrass ourselves the way they have. -

Please just STOP ! You have made your point very very clear. Make the change let the rest of this thread be a positive place for victims or alleged victims as you have said for them to feel safe to express what they have been through. Let them HELP the next woman that may learn from this and prevent themselves from becoming PREY to those despicable individuals that do the most harm when women are at their most vulnerable. Please DON'T let this thread be wasted anymore on this constant bickering of he said she said. PLEASE -

Sorry I don't mean to be argumentive and believe this thread is out of control but can we AGREE that none of us were there BUT where there is smoke there is generally fire. Do you agree that if this and I do say IF this did occur to yourself, your family or a friend then you would have preferred to be told that there had been accusations in the past so that yourself, your family or friend would have been more cautious to ensure you did not put yourself in harms way at this vulnerable time ? I think everyone who has read this thread would have to nod their head yes to this question. Forget the hurts on behalf of people that did your surgery or co ordinated your surgery and be glad that the many women that don't have a choice but have to go to Mexico by themselves at this vulnerable time do so with caution because the person who decided to speak up on behalf of these women. -

Wow I have just read this thread and I am shocked that in this day and age victims are treated with such hate. I guess that's why they need advocates to speak on their behalf. I may be wrong but from what I have read it appears that this is a warning for those that have not yet had surgery and may be considering having it with this surgeon and coordinator also from what I have read most of the comments have come from past patients and they appear to be a delightful bunch ! All I have to say is if someone contemplating surgery there prepares themselves with this knowledge and decides to be 20% more careful and prevents themselves from becoming victim 7 or 8 then Susan's post was worth it. I'm not saying it did or did not happen but I am saying knowledge is POWER. To the 6 victims my heart goes out to you, hopefully you are getting the help you need and to the lady that spoke out about her situation. You are VERY brave and should be proud of yourself -
