I don't understand...
longtimecomin replied to Maya314's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Juno, you sound so much like me, thanks for writing. I have been AWFUL with the exercise. I can't wait for spring so I can walk again. I just can't get myself motivated. Funny, before the band, I exercised so much more. I think I was just tired. -
I don't understand...

I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been discouraged at 38 pounds in 7 months but my doctor is pleased. I'm at 5 cc and haven't had a fill in two months but I feel good restriction. I honestly don't restrict my diet too much. If I can keep it in, I eat it! Children's menus are a huge help to me! Most importantly, I had to learn to stop eating when I even thought I might be getting full. -
Hi, My mum had her Op today. I have a few questions.. :)

Tokio, congrats to your mom for taking this wonderful step in her life. The only problem I felt afterwards was the gas! My friend took me around the block for a walk the first day and helped to relieve some of the pressure. It took about 24 hours for my body to let it go and it was a great relief!! Remember that she can only have small sips of stuff even if she gets mad because you don't give her more (I called my friend bad names). The walking really helps. For what it's worth, the strongest pain killer I took was the Tylenol Plus liquid. Still, I was very lucky with it. -
4 days post-op...really nervous/worried
longtimecomin replied to Clairabellleee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about feeling lightheaded? Is that fairly normal for 4-5 days post op? I'm afraid I'm not getting enough calories but I'm eating til I'm full. -

Travelgirl, I'm with you. The hand blender is a miracle for me. So easy to use and clean. I puree everything with it, and use it for my protein drinks. I'm still finding I have to get most of my protein through the drinks. -

Hey, Clair... I'm on day 4 post op as well. I was shocked when Dr. G told me I could go right to the puree/soft as long as it was all pureed well. I have been very careful but have been nervous about it, too. I'm sure you are doing fine, just keep up the good work. I'm having lots of luck with the Stage 2 baby food veggies. -
Thanks, allwright. I'm thrilled with all the support info and stuff I've already read and look forward to visiting lapbandtalk alot!

Congrats, miminms on getting banded. I am new to the site and thrilled to hear from so many who are already banded. Also those who aren't and have the same questions and apprehensions I have. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday morning (7/12). Scheduled for 7:30 a.m. and they tell me I should be released by 11:00 a.m. I was very blessed to not have to go through the diet process but like most of you, I was able to list at least a dozen diets I've been on (and off) since I was 10 years old. Look forward to checking into the postings here and chatting with you. I'm in Charlotte and have Dr. Gersin at Carolinas Medical Center. I had to see a sleep doc, have an endoscopy(sp?) and it seemed forever but the blessing is in reality it's only been since March. I have BCBS and they are very supportive of this type of treatment. I'll be back at work on Monday. YIPPEE!
