mamasanch replied to Sherra O.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It can be done. Had surgery on a wed. Went back to work on Monday. I have a desk job and am the boss so I took it easy no lifting and worked 1/2 day for a coulle of days As long as you have a place to rest if you need to. You won't know if you can till after surgery everyone recovers differently. Good luck. -

This week I reached a small milestone in my weight loss. Purchasing regular size clothing. Its been 15 years. This journey is only 3 months tomorrow and I feel my body and my mind change. I don't regret for a minute this decision. 47 pounds and many inches. I got this. What was your first major milestone?

Congrats. This is taking some adjusting. My 11 year old hugging me all the way around and her hands connecting. People saying I'm getting skinny. Lol. Not yet I have 53 to go! I was a size 20. I am trying not to purchase to many clothing as I know I am going to lose many more lbs. I am on this journey to be healthy am happy and this is a great start. Feeling fabulous!

1 month post-op and more tired now
mamasanch replied to Slim2016's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 5 weeks out. The last 5 days I have had more energy and feel normal again. Get the protien in whatever way you can. Congrats to all of us for making a commitment and changing our lives. I am very excited and going to a nutrition class next week to get all the tools I need to be successful. Surgery was 10/9. Total lost with 12 days preop is 31 pounds total. I also use myfitnesspal to log in all foods and exercise. It is the easiest tool and has almost all foods I eat in there logs calories and protien so you can get all nutrition in. -

Start logging all food on myfitnesspal. I am only 5 weeks out but it really helps. It has helped me track calories and protien. Very easy tool to use.

FREE SAMPLE PACKS FREE
mamasanch replied to Elliejmiller's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks for the info. My vitamins taste nasty. Ready to try different brands -
I am having a hard time getting in all my protein and water. I can get most of my protein in but too full to get the water. I have seen some people say water first? Hmmm. If I drink the water first I won't be able to get most of the protein. I thought the protein should be important. I am drinking protein drinks.

3 weeks out. Protien and water
mamasanch replied to mamasanch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to have a water at my desk but with the food i don't get enough water in. Let me know if that works. I have lost a total of 14 pounds since surgey and 12 on post op. I wonder if I drink more water if the numbers would be different -
I need some reassurance...
mamasanch replied to callchrissy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2 1/2 weeks post op. I felt very emotional for about 10 days. Ithad passed. I remember talking to other people who had the same feeling. Take some Time let yourself heal. I am feeling great went back to work 6 days after surgery. No regrets. I had lost 12 pounds pre surgery and 12 pounds after. Go for a walk and let out those emotions out. This will pass. Good luck -

6 days out with many questions
mamasanch replied to mexicomarge@gmail.com's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had so much gas pains I had only wish I could. After 10 days the belching is constant. But I know relieving the gas pain. Your body is relieving the gas. Keep belching. -
I had surgery oct 8 and went back to work on Monday. Only for 5 hours. Possible. But I was able to take it easy and only worked at my desk. I came home really tired. Today I worked 6 1/2 hours and today was the best I felt since surgery. Taking it easy this weekend. Good luck

I had surgery oct 8. I had 1 BM about 6 days after surgery. But nothing since. I just went bought colace and moralax. Hoping that helps. Feeling constipated. Uugh. Still on full liquids. Only lost about 7 lbs. 12 preop. Total of 19. I'll take it. But still swollen on my stomach

Weight Loss Stall at 2 weeks Post-op
mamasanch replied to Kristina Mccarthy-Martin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great conversation. 12 days on preop liquid I lost 12 pounds. Surgery date weight 246. Day after surgery. 253.!! 10 days out and down to 240. So 6 pounds in almost 2 weeks. I don't expect it to fall off quickly but reading some people's numbers scare me I'm retaining weight. I feel face smaller chest smaller. But I am still swollen. Following everything. Getting enough protein and water. So I will continue on plan and hopefully see results soon -
I tried with that as well. Frustrated when I lied on my side with pillows I felt like my whole side was too much pressure like everything was falling. Too painful. So back to the recliner I went. It is easy to get up and down and at an angle but I want my bed bad! I'll try again maybe Sunday.
-
THat is great to hear. I tried last night but no success I am a side sleeper as well. I'll wait another few days and try again. Maybe more pillows on my side! I know I just had abdominal surgery. What do I expect!

Approved for Surgery - Now I'm Freaking Out
mamasanch replied to LynRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was afraid. Not sure I would get approved and also afraid of complication. I am 9 days post op. went back to work after 6 days( only 5 hours) I am resting knowing my limit getting all protein vitamins and walking. Go in with confidence and know this shall pass. I had never had any kind o surgery. I'm 47. I was afraid. Never let fear stop you. Do research follow Instructions on recovery to a t. I jut went for a walk with my 11 year old and after 9 days I feel great. Yes it isn't easy ( major gas, insicion pain!) bur think I expected the worse and it is ok. Good luck.
