    Any fort worth tx sleevers?

Hello all, I am in NRH, and I used Dr. Kim for my revision from lap band to sleeve. Had a mess from the band, and he did the surgery all in one, plus had hernia repaired. I was at Victory Hospital, and I can't say enough great things about that hospital. I was very picky where I was due to a problem I had back in 08 at a Ft. Worth facility. I was also self pay, and I paid almost 1k more to be at Victory after reading the reviews from folks that went to Texas Hospital. Dr. Kim's staff got me in very quick, as my band was causing so many problems there at the end. Waking up every night gaging, and vomiting. I only met him for a few minutes and met all the others as well. Saw him the morning of the surgery, and that was it. I just went in for my 1 year post op visit yesterday. I did not do as well as I did when I got the band, but I knew going in my weight loss would be slower that "virgin WLS" patients. Still have not see Dr. Kim,. Only the PA and nursing staff. I think he is a wonderful surgeon, but I also think he is a bit of a money hungry Dr. They billed my insurance for the hernia repair, and for the anesthesia and the EDG, and insurance paid it, and they appealed it since they did not cover everything, and once the insurance got the medical records, the asked for a refund due to WLS non covered. I have been getting billed for months, and they keep telling me that they will get it resolved. I paid him $16k up front and felt like that was plenty plus what my insurance had paid. When I was there yesterday they told me that from now on my office visits will be $50.00. Just watch out. Montie

    Help...having regrets

I too was band to sleeve on 9/10/13. Although I have no regrets, I have only lost 21 lbs. My Dr. told me that since I was not a "virgin" WLS patient, I would lose slower than first timers. I hope he is right. I get on these sites and see all these people loosing 30-50 lbs in the same amount of time. BUT they are maybe larger, have more to lose than I do. I just keep plugging along. My clothes are fitting better, actually hanging is more like it. One day, I hope to get on the scale and have lost a bunch of weight. Over the weekend, we went to the movies. First time in 2 months. I ate popcorn. I thought, I wont' be able to eat much. NOT. I did not eat as much as I have, but seems like quite a bit. I felt bad afterward. SO the next day, back to the walking, and Monday, back to the gym. Did more than I usually do. Just hang in there.
  3. I am Sept 10th. I am on the mushie food. Sick of refried Beans, but only have a few more days before real food. I have had no complications either. Only problem is constipation, taking stool softeners and Miralax. Not working. Only brown Water. TMI, sorry. Otherwise, its all good.
  4. Hey all you September Sleevers. How is everyone doing? I am 3 weeks PO today. Feel great! Back to the gym this am. I have been walking in the mornings since its so nice here in Tejas. (rare) So just did some cycling, and some arms. Tried not to do anything that would pull on the tummy. I am down 20 lbs. Which 7 was pre op diet. But happy. I know I will loose slower since I was revision. But if I can stay 20 lbs a month, I will be one happy camper. Lets all check in and see how everyone is doing now that we are on the loser's bench.

  7. Smell something so good, and just want to take one little bite to chew, then spit it out? I have done that! Not proud, but its the truth. Hubby was having some dinner, and he made garlic toast with cheese, Gawd, It smelled sooooooooooo fricken good, I took a bite, chewed and chewed to get every last flavor, and spit.
  8. Never trust a fart........ love that one. It happened to me today, AT WORK. No clean undies with me either. Well, starting tomorrow, I will have some in my car.

    Band to sleeve tomorrow!

I am IiI am dong great! No pain, just still some lingering gas. I finally went to the potty today.........lots of gas was present. Working 5-6 hours a day. Now on the full liquids, creamed soups, shakes, and feel more energy. I come home from work and take a little nap. We are going to our lake house this weekend, its a 2 hr drive, so should be ok. I go tomorrow for my staple removal. I think that will help, as they are pulling on everything. I had 7 incisions. all look good, some redness, but nothing to write home about. I have lost 14lbs in 2 weeks, so happy about that.

    Band to sleeve tomorrow!

I am 8 days PO revision. Feel great, came back to work on Monday, only 5.5 hrs. Very tired when I got home. Actually took a nice baby nap. Now that I can do the Protein shakes, I don't feel so tired. Tomorrow, I get the staples out. Will be asking lots of questions. Still a bit swollen on the left side, which is where they did the most work.
  11. Well after almost 5 long years of having the band not do a thing but cause problems for me, Reflux, gaging, weight gain (lost 116, gained 40) and feeling like crap, I am set for tomorrow to have band removed, and sleeved. YAY! Have lost 9 lbs in the past 6 days from the preop diet. Not too bad. Have not been hungry, which is a good thing. The shakes help a lot. So wish me luck, and I will see you on the flip side. 14. I am using Dr. Kim. He is very skilled, but not much on personality. Oh course, I just want a good surgeon. His office is very helpful as well. Surgery on Sept 10 band to sleeve.
