    You are right, you do have a good Pediatrician. I too am BiPolar and have been diagnosed since I was 34 (now 52) it can be well controlled with Meds. If you ever want more particulars or just want to vent PM me I'd be happy to share any info you'd like. There is a strong genetic link My paternal GrandMother, my Dad, then Me and my 29 yr old daughter was diagnosed in 1st yr University. I like you have been struggling with the Easter Chocolate Monsters... lets take a vow right now to STOP.... o.k./ :ohmy:

    Another snow storm on the way... ha,ha,ha... I just can't beleive it will ever be spring!!! :biggrin: But, I am looking forward to JULY and meeting all you gals in person... A Pool and jacquzzi sound just like they would be up my alley... I agree with janet walking that Mall will probably be excersise enough.. not to mention the Jaw Flapping that will be going on. Money will not be a problem, I am stashing away a portion of my pay each week. I am just going to "time" my statement to DH as to my trip plans.. Hee,hee... He ususally goes to a Blues Festival in July each year with a Buddy, so if I am lucky it will fall on the same weekend.. Otherwise I'll rely on the old stand by "what's good for the Goose is good for the Gander" line....LOL WEll gotta be a work to laser somebody in 26 milns. so I'd better go... I'll check back later with y'all. :cursing: p.s. Chim, it would be great if you could join us... what part of the States are you coming from?

    Homewood Suites, what's the price like? Is it comparable to the others you already mentioned??? I just dont' want a Comfort Inn or Days Inn. Otherwise I am pretty flexable... and the close proximity would be nice too. Its nice to hear from Lynette, you look FAB by the way! I had Easter Dinner with my Mom and DH at her Seniors Residance. We had HAM, Scalloped Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots. Sweet pineapple sauce on the Ham (Yuk) I ate all my HAM and 2 brussel sprouts and 3 carrot peices. The potatoes were looking like they'd get stuck so I left them. But I did eat my dessert - a tiny bowl with brownie & 1 spoonful of strawberry icecream... That was plenty for me... and ya NO easter eggs LOL

    My advise is to EAT SOLID foods... For breakfast have hot thick oatmeal, with Skim milk, blueberries, crushed walnuts. Yummy, take tiny bites, CHEW well and delicious. lunch have meat, chicken, FISH 2-3 oz. first, then veggies, then grains.. eat in that order... When I am tight in the mornings I can't even get tea down or a protien shake, but I can always Eat the Oatmeal...

My band&/or tubing is leaking and not holding a fill.... I'd better not get there and be dissappointed. I'll keep you posted. (((hugs))) Peaches

    Good morning! Well, so happy that I can finally post today. Yesterday was intermidably boring and I tried MANY times to post.. no luck. I did sign onto the 'friends' thingy so we'll see what's up with that. I did 15 min on the rowing machine Friday... 5 more than previously.. Thank God for "ELLEN" she kept my mind occupied while I sweat. LOL Watched a good movie last night "Atonement" WWII venue very good acting and story line. Kinda a chick flick though. The only attraction for hubby was that it took place in WWII. only 6 more sleeps until my surgery, I'll be so glad to have it over with. It's been a long wait. No cost to me, I just had to convince my Dr. that my band WAS leaking! Linda, sounds like you have more bad weather up your way. Sorry about that. We are all getting pretty tired of winter here in Ontario. Ice piles everywhere, my Dear Doggies have been cutting their paws running around the back yard... Squirrels are everywhere though and very active, a sure sign of spring... I think they've run out of hidden nuts the winter has been so long!!! Janet: YUMMY Lamb, can't remember when I had that last... sounds so good.. I'd better get my meat meals in this week as I may have to go back to liquids for a while after surgery... but at least that will kick start my weight loss YEAH!!! Have a great Holiday weekend everyone else! When is passover this year??? Peaches:w00t:
  15. Hey Linda;

I have stalled and am getting "new" equipment next Friday. Either a new tubing and port or a whole new band.. Depends on what he finds once in there..But I am not holding saline completely... But I am not giving up, I even dragged teh Rowing Machine out and put it in front of the TV yest. Did 10 mins. I know thats not much, but its a start!!!

    replacing the tubing

    Hello, I am having re-vision surgery next Friday. My Doc suspects that I have a tiny leak in my tubing... You stated that you had to go under general anesthetic for the proceedure... So did you have to have the gas pumped into you abd. again too?? What was your recovery time etc? Also, did you have to go back on liquid diet/mushies/ solid reintroduction for 5 weeks Post op? Or could you resume eating solids. Sorry, one more question - did you have to go thru the incremental fill process all over again???/

    How is your cold doing? Are you feeling any better??? There have been a lot of nasty bugs going around up here in the Great White North. I guess that I expected that in the warmer climates you guys weren't bothered as much in the winter months with colds and flus... Take care!!
  19. Hi, you sound like you are at the RIGHT spot now!! Congrats! It is a tricky lesson to learn, not to sucumb to the "first bite syndrome".... its almost like you have to take this really tiny bite, chew it 20 times swallow, wait a minute or two and THEN take your second tiny bite.... This is how we are meant to eat from now on... and will avoid PB's and pain.. Good luck to you, your Weight Loss is great!

    I just go off the phone with my Surgery Clinic. I have a 10 cc band too but as many of you know I've been struggling with it 'losing' fluid for the past several months.. I am to be re-operated on next Friday, 29th March and I am so glad that the waiting is over... I am very tight for a few days after a fill and then it loosens I have 10.6 cc's in my band (according to their records)... I sympathize with you Salsa cause neither of us is where we need to be... (hugs)

    12 Steps of Overeaters Anonymous

    Well, I am glad to have found this thread... I was in OA before.. for 3 yrs and it was successful for me. Its a lot of work. I guess right now I am able to do step 1 I am a compulsive overeater and my life is unmanageable. 2) Came to beleive that a power greater than myself can restore me to sanity. 3) Became willing to let that Higher Power remove my food addiction...? is that right , Am I remembering step 3 properly.? 4) Made a fearless inventory of our wrongs. ...thinking that I am somewhere between #2 & #3 ?

    Then I crush up several cloves of garlic and fresh rosemarry. 2 tsp Olive Oil... I RUB this mixture all over both sides of the fish fillet... Then you can either pan saute or bake in the oven. I prefer the frying pay method, but it is a bit smellier the next day (hee,hee) But this is my FAVORITE fish. 2nd in line is Tilapia, and I cook it abou the same way, but leave off the rosemary.... as Tilapia is a very sweet, delicate tasting fish. ALso you can always Shake n'Bake your fish.. very easy.

    So sorry to hear that you are so tight... that is no fun at all. If I am that tight I just wait afew days and it loosens up... but it sounds like you've already waited thru that period. You slight unfil is the best remedy, even 1/4 of a cc ... will work wonders for you. Good luck
