:lol:Good Morning Everyone; Karri, have a good run... we look forward to the pictures later. Janet; That food plan for yest. dosn't sound too bad at all... in fact delicious! Can you remember when you'd have eaten all the onion, and all the entree plus the popcorn and candy in a movie??? Wow, you've transformed yourself. 1230 cals is a good total. My back is acting up and I've been putting off doing my gardening. Just cant' do it at present. But yesterday I went for a good long walk... Standing up straight is a non painful position. I was gone 45 mins and walked at a quick pace. Sweated well... so Spark people gave me 366 cals for my exertion. I felt good about that. Hot pack and then ICE for my back afterwards, plus some muscle relaxants too... God I have sucha hard time getting pills into me now with the band. (MY only regret) Scale this morning was my friend... its moving a titch and I'm almost down to my 183 I am going to keep tracking food and exersise - it seems to work for me. when I do it!!!!

Oh I don't know if I win the "diplomatic award" or not? The chick at work that I have been having issues with? well yesterday things were quite pleasant between us... she even gave me a massage... we chatted... etc.. Then this a.m. I open my email, and she has another diatribe on there... telling me 'how' I am to talk to her etc... I told her to 'turn the page and move on'... I am done with it.... My DH said my reply was curt....oops...

Yeah Linda, I am glad your w/i went so well... with regards to family, I have never found its a good idea to have any expectations... as I am always the one disappointed. Your kids are LUCKY to have a Mom and Dad that would foot the bill for the big trip... that was very generous indeed!

Hi Gang, just thought I'd check in...I had a yucky day a work today... I started off with a fight with a co-worker.... then... I found out I made a clerical error ( I fixed it) that cost my employer $1000!!! I told her about it and she was quite understanding.. Thank God... Then I get home to find that the co-worker has written me a "snot gram" , so I then composed the most diplomatic reply of the century... argh... I also had an appointment with a Hypnotherapist... I must get my cravings for junk under control ... it went really well and i feel like I am taking charge again., one day at a time... So today I ate, 1 WW chicken lunch frozen thingy, 2 oz fish for a snack, Decaf with milk (extra large), dinner was Ground beef curry and salad.. Now I am drinking tea. Evening snack will be a protien shake + vitamins... Hugs to all, Candice

:scared2: Stephanie; I just wanted you to know that you are a Special person! Your caring and concern does come across. I have been reading the posts back and forth between Karri and you. This has been a wonderful place for me to see others caring and concern in action. This LapBandTalk forum is a God send and all you ladies here are blessings.

I am so glad that you were able to save the dog..Hang the people in traffic behind you. You did the right thing. I was just about crying just reading your post. I am a dog lover, actually love them more than some people... HUGS to the HUMANE! Karri, your picture is awesome. God look at your little itty bitty butt!!! I am so proud of you and your accomplishments. I wish I had HALF you tenacity and stick-with-it-ness!!! :scared2: Well, we missed you girl! But I am sure glad you enjoyed your vacation. It sounds like it was wonderful and relaxing. Now get back to all those emails!!!!!:tongue2: Janet; We can all come down there and whoop some @ss if you like... I hate biggoted people. My SIL is Vietnamese-Canadian and is a wonderful addition to our family. It really bugs me when someone asks " where are YOU from???" my SIL being way too cool to let it bother him says "Toronto"... then we all just laugh our heads off at the 'stupid' person. It is only natural to feel protective of our family members and whoa be hold to anyone who gets in the way.

5 cc's in a 10 cc band is really not that much, go for another fill, or two... I am at 7 in a 10 cc and I could probalby use another 1/4 cc. Candie

For all of you in education, with sons, grandsons, or who just love the things little kids say ~ a reminder that adult words are often taken literally.... "Circumcised"(this is priceless!) A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention. She went back to find out what was going on. He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been circumcised and he was quite itchy. The teacher told him to go down to the principal's office. He was to telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it. He did and returned to his class. Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room. She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with his "private part" hanging out. "I thought I told you to call your mom!" she said. "I did," he said, "And she told me that if I could stick it out till noon, she'd come and pick me up from school.

I am not 'fat' enough??!!!

Lie about your height, gain the 20 lbs... or self pay and just get-r-done... I took out a loan and took a part time job, because here in Canada we have to self pay... it is not covered by 9 of our Provincial Health Plans. It really depends on how much you want it... I looked at it as an investment in my FUTURE health and happiness.

I am hoping to get more in this way... as when I am tight, I don't feel much hunger, but I also don't feel much thirst... weird... Is anyone else this way??? Just Peachy

I never was asked to wear a compression bra, just a CLOSE FITTING Sports Bra... there were no CUPS or wires... just a comfortable thing, mostly lycra and elastic... I wore that for 6 weeks then went to the Dr. for check up... I don't think I wore an Official Bra again for 3 months. But it was SO worth it!~~ Good luck

12 Steps of Overeaters Anonymous

You can go to any 12 step meeting if its a OPEN meeting, just specify YOUR addiction as food. They are very nice people and will make you welcome. You can buy lots of literature at an AA meeting, specific OA material you'd have to get at an OA meeting or posibly order ONLINE... try WWW.OA.org I was a member for 4+ years and prior to banding, was the only thing that really helped me with my weight issues... funny I found that there was WAY more I needed to deal with than my weight... mostly relationship, fear, trust, self worth issues... sound familiar??? Good luck

Hee,hee, hee still laughing at myself here.
19. I disagree, Lapband and sex reassignment surgery should BOTH be covered by our Universal Health Care System. We pay HUGE taxes in this country to accommodate this. Yes, being in a fat body for 40 yrs is torture. ( I am 53) but I'll be honest here, my poor eating habits and dislike of exercise and a Sh!tload of DENIAL is what got me here... get real! People needing Gender Reassignment surgery did not ASK to be born into the wrong bodies... there is nothing they could do about it.
20. Please don't kill me for saying this, but you are not supposed to lose weight in the four wks post surgery. This time is for healing. We all eat a bit too much once our appetites come back. Now, once you get your first fill, you may not have sufficient restrition until fill 2, 3 or #4... that's when you'll start losing. Take it slow, patience is whats required now. You didn't put this weight on overnight, and it won't come off overnight either. The thing is with the BAND, you'll never put it on again... Beauty!!

but where on earth do I find this EEvo ??? is it a Fat free margarine or something like it??? I don't think I've ever seen it in Canada... perhaps I'll have to buy a case of it when I come to M of A... and truck it back across the border. By the way how is your D=I=L ?? Is she healing o.k. ?? I've thought about her often.

Mothers are just goofy!! Yours sounds like mine, when I am dieting she is all "ooh are you sure your eating enough?" then when I am in Pig out mode she is like " honey, is that your second or third piece of cake?" "why don't you just save some for tomorrow"... ARGH!!! You look just lovely, I've seen your pictures... and I have no bias and no reason to lie to you.. so relax you are beautiful just the way YOU are RIGHT now. I went to see an old friend yesterday, have coffee and a chat she says "wow, you are really doing well with your weight loss!" (she dosn't know I've been banded) what do you weigh now 150??? {I wish} No ,I said in the "180's" but it was sure nice to hear anyways!!
23. Jill must have changed the Pre-op diet since last July... All I was allowed was yogurt and cottage cheese... no chicken or vegies. And I was on it for 2 weeks... I still can't eat cottage cheese... it makes me gag and gets stuck easily now.. Good luck on Thursday:tt2:
24. I am a self pay too, however to say that a Sex change operation is not Medically necessary is a tad unkind and an uneducated statement. These unfortunate people are born into the wrong body... Gender is not always Black & White... there is a huge GREY area. A gentleman that worked for my husband became a woman in her 40's... Can you imagine the torture it would be to go around in the WRONG body for 40 years!!!! We all need INSURANCE coverage for our necessities.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Yes, slimming is extra saliva that will be produced when your have something "stuck" it can be water, coffee or applesauce or meat... just depends on how tightly you are restricted. PB'ing is short for "productive burp" this is throwing up the food that is eaten too fast, or too much volume and it gets stuck... you'll know when you have to do it as the pain in your chest is aweful... like an elephant just stepped on your sternum... or like you swallowed a golf ball and it won't go down... Don't be worried though, you will just have to go through some 'trial and error' until you find what works for you... Somedays I can eat oatmeal for breaky ( my favorite since banding) and perhaps one day a week. .... forget it!!! I have to wait an hour and then try something different , like a protien bar.... then usually lunch and supper are o.k. but who knows each day is a little surprise... today I pb'd on applesauce!!! It was to be my mid afternoon snack... go figure. Hubby ate it instead of me...
