It is wise to focus on your REAL needs here. Why do you NEED the lapband ? Do want to lose weight for LIFE? or do you want a temporary fix so that you can go back and continue to eat the way you have always done? If I can allay your fears, I'll try. Preband Breakfast: 2 egg burritos, hash brown, coffee D/D 900 cals Post band: 1 egg burrito, blk coffee sweetner 300 cals Lunch: BIg Mac or 1/4 lber with cheese, lrg FRIES, POP = 1100 cals post band: 1/4lber, w/o bun, No fries, no drink = 250 or I order a Kiddies size burner and eat the bun too = 300 cals Dinner: Post band: I pick up some 4 ozfish or 3 os. chick grill it, salad w/ dressing and sometimes sweet potatoe or rice 1/4 - 1/2 cup only... VERY full Eliminate Snacks that are higher than 100 cals per serv. give yourself one of those per day. PRE banding, I'd snack all night long. Remember, you tummy will be small, it dosn't say that you can't still enjoy your fav. just that you will eat much less of them!

Hello Phyl; I am glad you enjoyed your Whistler trip. I totally get what you are saying about the "liquid" calories!!! Ah, summer... actually I'll be o.k. with it being almost over. It is much easier to stick to your meal plan in the fall. Less partying, less BBQ's! July and Aug are neutral w/l months for me as well. and my B-day is at the end of the month :tt1: Janet; I was sorry to go back and read about Andrew's accident. That is aweful, I am sending possitive Vibes to you and your family:wub: :tt1: :tt1: Food's been good today, I AM getting back on track come hell or high water. CBL, hugs to all!!!

Hey there everyone, I'm alive and almost caught up on the home front. Been 9 hr days at work this week. I am off to Toronto for a 3 day training seminar, should be very interesting! Food issues and cravings? WOW, that's exactly where I've been since vacation week. Its been tricky getting back into the swing of things. I may need another fill. More later babes

The highlight was the bears! I saw 10 of them Adults and babies... they were all searching for food at the dump! Black bears, didn't see any Moose, but we did see lots of "Moose poop" along our hike, so I guess we just missed them.

page 746.... I've got to go back and catch up. But just wanted to let you all know I'm back from the Cottage

Tim made it home!!! What a wonderful surprise!!! Did you cry??? Its super that you'll have some time to visit with him before the Boston leg of the trip.. I am so envious of your flight to buy wine! What a hoot, are you buying Cherry Wine? Oh and Linda, you've lost over 100 lbs so go ahead and buy several cases of wine you can afford the weight on take off. Have a blast:tt2:Hugs, Candice

1st off - Don't panic. Am I to assume you have a 10cc band? and you have 6cc's in there? or now 4.5? Probably that is not enough restriction. How I have a 10 cc band and have 7 cc's in it currently, but I think I'd like another 1/4cc... after the summer is over... I am going to get serious and lose the other 30-40 lbs. But, I did have a complication with my band. The fill nurse Punctured my tubing TWICE during the fill process last fall. I had it replaced last Mar 28th and I've been fine since. Ulcers' and Erosion are VERY uncommon... I am sorry that PA freaked you out. Sometimes I think they should keep their mouths shut tight until they have run tests and KNOW what they are talking about. Good luck, and keep in touch so I know how you make out. :biggrin2:

hi, just a quickie - I am at work... I have the patient from Hell this a.m. I try to "like" all my patients, but some are easier than others :-) CbL

#1 try some different positions rather than HIM on top #2 My husbands hand glances over the port now and then, he forgets that its there. But he's not creeped out by it anymore. (Banded a year ago) #3 You aren't feeling the BAND, its only the tubing or port that you may feel. The BAND is Deep within your abdominal cavity up near your rib cage and under your liver, so you couldn't feel it. Probably you are just too sensitive to it being there.

Did anyone go back a few posts and check out the websites for the Elvis Festival 2009 in Collingwood??? I didn't see any feedback?

Hi Ladies; I've missed a few days, so had to go back and re-read some posts.... wow a lot happens when you aren't paying attention LOL Janet; congrats on the Normal BMI, that is a huge accomplishment ! When I broke 30 I was ecstatic!! So I can only imagine your big grin on your face!!! Linda; Wedding is looming closer... keep up with the workload and remember to take some "ME" time too! Peter has been LOVING the cheese! We havn't dipped into the Cherry wine yet, we are waiting for a special occasion when we are alone (wink, wink) Steph; how did your Son's doc. visit go? Did they make any recommendations on his meds? Therapy? Phyl; Glad to hear from you, and that your vacation is going o.k. tell Earl that I love a good fish fry too. I hope to have one this next week up at my sisters camp. Lots of lake trout and walleye up there YUM. Karri & Kari; I will be thinking of you next week, "Double R" You are my exercise inspiration so I am going to do the Cliff mountain again.!!! But I am taking the 6 hr route this time!!! Single "R" when I was away at M of A I purchased New Hiking boots.... so I am going to break them in. Ruby: I didn't mean to leave you out or anybody else. I'll miss you all next week, but if I can steel myself away and use my Dear Sister's computer - then I'll be in touch. Otherwise, it'll be next week. The cottages only have propane lamps, stoves & BBQ's no electricity... Hopefully it won't rain, or it'll be board games and too much wine!~!

Geesh Stephanie, your PCP sounds like a real eh'hole!! How dare he discourage you and your weight loss successes so far. You have come so far, and he obviously dosn't KNOW anything about YOUR determination!!! Idiot!!! ]My DH has a wonderful saying just for times like this.... "don't argue with an Idiot, he has more experience than you and will beat you everytime!"
-
Thanks, Karri... I was afraid I'd have to through it out. And teh Jello idea sounds GREAT!!! I'll try that for sure. I may try and have a completely LIQUID day tomorrow, just to get back on track after the weekend of Wine, Pretzels and such... just a wee bit bad... Didn't go hog wild and pig out, but had some poorer choices.. Auh BBQ's are my downfall. And my pork ribs were fantastic, but I PB'd them!! I guess I was chewing too fast I am glad you are taking it easy, getting back into running. I know you are anxious to get back to your schedule of exercise... keep it up, you look fantastic.

I am so relieved for you!!! that is a terrible scare. Lumps are usually benign but until THEY tell you that it is always a worry. So glad you are o.k..... will they remove it or just take a wait and see approach? Hugs, Candice:w00t:

Question for anyone who is up and on the computer. ISOPURE, I bought a bottle in the States but i left it in my car for 5 days sealed but unrefridgerated. It is supposed to be clear, but there is this milky thing floating in it. Itshould still be alright eh? There is nothing stated on the bottle about refridgeration. But I just opened it tonight and put into the fridge. Hum????

:cool2: Oh yeah, we all try to 'test' the band at some time or another... we are human and you just have to put it behind you and wake up tomorrow with a firmer resolve. One cheat will not end your progress or ruin your journey... -
Thanks Janet! Geez I miss you guys... its been kinda quiet on here. I have to work tomorrow, but if I am lucky I'll be off on Wednesday and be able to get into town to see my Mom. She's hanging in there and sounded pretty good on the phone today. She just can't handle the humidity, so it's A/C visits for us either at her rez. or in my car. She loves to go out for a ride in the country.

Fantastic pics keep up the great effort

I've missed a couple of days but I'll try and read up on threads. Linda, so super that the anniversary party went well!!! With regards to the depression, have you considered uping your meds?? just a thought. Sometimes I have to tweek mine up during the winter months (my bad time) Janet, did you get your biopsy results yet? Do you guys have a long weekend there too? Its our CIVIC holiday So I'm off today and getting caught up on laundry before I go back to work this week. Karri; I am constantly amazed by your healing! Wow, what a great job she did... Stephanie; I forgot to mention how much I just LOVED your Mom... she is such a doll. Next time, I'll get to the casino with her LOL Just came back from a nice 70 min hike in Blueberrie Trails with the doggies. DH and I picked some wild blueberries along the way and ate as we walked... it was warm and sunny and NO BUGS!!! Yeah. Sat. I leave for another week up at my Sisters camp, if I climb that Cliff mountain again I am taking the LONG route (less incline) plus I can try out my new hiking shoes from M of A. Right now, eating my lunch of Couscous & Chick pea salad from Sat. night. Its the first time I made it but it was pretty good. CUL:blink:
