Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi Tx Lady; don't fret - 7 cc's in a 10 cc band is not necessarily a lot. It all depends on the fat pad thickness around your stomach. It is also normal to be hungry on liquids.. You ate pretty soft and light food. In a couple of weeks you may still need a small fill. I am currently getting 1/4cc fills when I go now as I am really close to my sweet spot. A thinner Denise; if you are holding your weight loss with out feeling restricted more power to ya! That is awesome. When you last went for a fill did your Dr. "Draw" out any of the saline in the band to check and see "IF" there was any residual? Congrats to all the Newbies on the thread:tt1:

Denise: I am so sorry for your losses. I am sending your extra BIG HUGS!!! I know there is nothing I can say to ease your sorrow, but I am thinking about you. Janet: I am glad you are posting again. To say that you have been missed would be the understatement of the year :blushing: A new kitty huh? When one door closes another door opens, maybe this extra fur bundle will be just the thing to take your mind off things, even if its only momentarily... Fur creatures have a way of knowing when you're needing some extra luvin. I am sending you BIG HUGS too... if you ever want a complete change of scenery to clear your head you know you are always welcome in my home!!:rolleyes2:

Oh Ruby Girl, what are we going to do, You and I seem to be on the same slippery slope when it comes to staying on track with this weight loss thing. I too have been horrible with my food choices of late. Janet got me bac k on track and going to the gym, I lost a bit of weight, and now I've put it back on...:rolleyes2: I wake up in the morning with the best of intentions, today I was so tight (after last nights pig out) that i couldn't get a shake down. Then I went out for lunch with an old friend (she didn't know I'd had W/L surg) and she thought I looked GREAT!!! Ha,ha... Now I ordered a Steak Sandwich w/salad. I ate the meat out of it and 1/4 of the garlic bread bun, 2 mouthfulls of salad... and I was stuffed. Then on the way home, I stopped and bought my old stand by the dreaded little round things with peanuts in them and initials stamped on the outside. No dinner for me. Ruby, you are doing really well on the exercise... perhaps you and I should talk mono -a-mono???

    Unsupportive Spouse

With over 100 lbs to lose you could qualify for OHIP paid for Gastric Bypass surg. (done laproscopically) OHIP will pay for you to travel to Michigan BARIX clinics they are a good clinic, I know from experience because I took my good friend there. The wait time for a OHIP approved CDN Doc is years just to get the consult and then you wait another year or two for the surg. Get your family doctor on board, do you have any other co-morbidities? Diabetes, heart problems, High blood pressure, bad knees or back? These all count towards you getting easier approval. Lapband is expensive $18k in Toronto, and you have to go back many, many times for adjustment fills. JMHO

My dogs are both Jack Russell's, they are th long legged variety and they just NEVER tire out. Its great cause it keeps DH and I on our toes and gets us outside to exercise them (us ha,ha) I am a complete sloth if left to my own devices... just stay inside and eat bonbon's.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi there, I am 15 mos. post surgery and I too am stuck at the mid-way point. But I know what my problem is. I keep eating bad stuff. I go a week or two counting my calories then I go Ummmm... "chocolate" and I go hog wild... I tetter back and forth the same 3 lbs. its driving me nuts. I want the COMMITTMENT that I had when I was first banded. Ya know like when I knew that $16k was a TON of money and I was going to do everything in my power to get this weight off for the last time!!! Well, the motivation seems to be gone and I just can't seem to get it back.

O.K. for exercise today my DH and doggies went on a ravine hike down into a gorge at the bottom of a waterfall. It was slippery underfoot but I was wearing my Merrell's hiking boots from our M of A trip and they have good grips on the bottom. I had to grab a walking stick though for the decent as it was hard on my knees. A lot of uneven rocks underfoot. The doggies loved it. My 14 yr old Jack Russell fell into the water at one point, she ventured to close to the edge of the ravine... it was kinda funny but the water must have been cold. Then my 8 yr old decides he has found some other dogs "doo-doo" and decides it looks quite tasty... GULP! :tt1: :cool2: no doggie kisses for me today :tongue_smilie: So I got in my workout. :biggrin:Food; Breakfast, pro shake, Snack: coffee, 1/2 McDonalds muffin, Lunch: 3/4 Kids size Cheesburger, water & tea This afternoon, I am going to catch a nap & a movie... heee, heee pretty lazy day... don't know what I'll plan for dinner? Anyone got any good suggestions:confused:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Ya tt P/S is way expensive... I've been wearing SPANK high top panties and they control A LOT of the gigglies.. my spanx tuck up under my bra and it holds them in place all day... I just love them!! I have a pair of long line ones too that come to just above the knee for dresses or fitting slacks... but I'm not too concerned about my hips and thighs its my tummy lower and uppper that bother me the most.

oops, Sorry I am at work and trying to sneek on the computer. I have eaten horribly the last couple days. Must get back on track! But I did go to the gym yesterday and do a really good workout. 2 miles on the treadmill 10% incline and then 3.5 miles on the bike. Has anyone heard from Janet?

Just a quick check in today. I fell off the Food wagon yest. I had a great day a work, and then I tripped on some loose carpeting and did a 'header' into a wall unit at the Clinic. Luckily for me I hit hard into my uppper arm bone and wrist. Not my head. If I'd been falling 2" in the other direction it could have been a very terrible outcome. However, I am incredibly sore and bruised and swollen... I came home and put ice on it immediatley and took some homeopathic pain med. but then the ICE bag made me think of Icecream... and I caved!!!! No excuse, I am just in the confession mode... tomorow I'll start anew!!!

    Mexico for a Canadian

Recovery after the surgery is really not bad, flying home should pose no problem for you at all. But I am curious, who is doing your fills and aftercare in ALberta? Is there a fee for this??? (I am from Ontario and got banded in Toronto selfpay)

Kari, Your reunion sounds fantastic. I am so happy that you went and had a good time. Your food choices for such an occasion were not all that bad either. Good for you eating 1/2 of the buffet plate. My food yest. THANKSGIVING Dinner incl. CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEIN1,4741975251 Well it was fun, my DD and SIL2B were up and two of our best friend couples came for dinner so there were 8 of us. Wonderful time, and Damn I am a good cook!!! My Turnip Souffle was a big hit as it is a family fav. I used store bought pumpkin pie but also make SKOR squares for dessert. I too FILLED my plate with everything in sight but then couldn't eat it no matter how hard I wanted to. Not because I was hungry for more, just that I had 'taken' it and it was thanksgiving and in yrs past I always had at least TWO plates of turkey food. DAH! In the morning my DD and I went out to a nearby resort and met with a Wedding Co-ordinator to see where she might like to get married next fall. Well, I tell ya, "I" almost put the downpayment on the place... I am such a sucker~! I fell in love with the venue. Its on the bay, waterside ceremoney outdoors under an arbor, there are ducks, geese swimming inbehind on the bay, beautiful Willow trees, and then the mountains off in the distance. OMG I can't imagine a nicer place. Then indoors, the room is all decorated in asoft blue(grey) satin curtains, panoramic glass windows that look out onto the bay as well. And the food choices were phenominal! 5 course meal, cake, wine on tables open bar.... everything incl for $85 per person, plus the $1500 for the room... I have NO experience in this but I thought that this was a super price.... anyone have any ideas? My DD is going to go easy on the dress,($) as this is her 2nd time around and his 1st. I think she'll try and keep it to a long cocktail dress around $500. But then there are flowers... gosh they are expensive!! but can't imagine a wedding without them either? Big WALK yest. a couple of miles... it was great cause I didnt' get to the gym... but the kids, Dad and Dogs and I went out the weather was just so fabulous. And we could all talk wedding plans while we walked. It was a nice weekend. Tonight we are going to my MOM's residence and taking the leftover Thxgiving cassaroles and the 3 of us will have our little dinner there. She didn't feel up to coming out to my place with her wheelchair, oxygen etc... I guess I can understand that. Have a super day everyone, I'll be bhack at work tomorrow:sad_smile:
