1000 cals today!!! gotta go watch CNN
-
Marivali, nice to hear from you again. Wow, you have had a busy year. Don't worry, we are always here for you - beleive me we all need each others support to carry on this journey... Keeping your motivation up is key, plus like Janet always says.... Exercise + band + good food choices = Success!!! ' 75 lbs gone forever!!! that is wonderful, no wonder you can go hiking. Janet; ya I agree, I was able to get my Cheerios and skim milk down about 35 mins. ago... so I am off to a good start! I just can't seem to get my butt in gear though today, can't keep my eyes off of CNN.... oh my will I go thru withdrawl tomorrw????
-
Yes, it is common. It is just the gas though that is pumped into your abdomen during surgery. It has no where to go and sometimes seems to 'sit' in your shoulder area. Just get up and go for a walk it will dissapate. Also, its not a Horrible pain, just kinda uncomfortable... I went for a short walk the evening of my surgery. (operation 11 a.m.) and the next day felt so good that I went hiking on mountain trails around my home... Dr Yau gave me Torodol for pain, but I hardly took it, just took Tylenol for 3 days... that was it. I have had several surgeries in the past, Breast reduc., hysterectomy etc.... the lap band is a breeze compaired to those.. Just think, you'll be able to change your countdown ticker toa W/L ticker before you know it!! Are you getting excited???? I know I was at your stage. If you have any more questions, just ask or:thumbs_up: P.M. me...

CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEIN1,360,176,48,68 Pro so here are my numbers from yesterday... Not ideal, but I was munching and scrounging in the evening... the things that put me over the top were at least healthy choices, Oatmeal cake w/peanut butter, SF FF Choc pudding..... luckily I didn't have any Un=healthy stuff in the house... the oatmeal cake is 190 cals, 6 gms of Fibre and 9 gms of Protien... Today, I will do better.... its 9.30 a.m. and am still having trouble with coffee, may have to reheat it...
-
 o.k. Stephanie, you asked for it so we'll be there for you. You are back on the band (hee, hee) wagon and THATS what counts eh? Track your cals if that helps, janet made me do it and its really helping and posting my cals here and being accountable to you guys... did you SEE the ticker,,,, its M_ O_V_I_N_G Love ya, C:wub:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
peaches9 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totaly hear your frustration!~ but you must remember that you are still in the healing phases. My doc told me that you might not start to feel restriction until you've had 3 or 4 fills..now depending on your fill schedule that could take up to a couple of months. Try to watch what you are eating, even without your 'restriction' there is still a lot of W/L strategy that you can invoke. This is a life long journey, not a fast W/L scheme... stay the course your lbs will DROP off once you have attained your sweet spot. for example I was banded in 11July 07 it took 6 wks before my 1st fill, then every 2 wks I'd go in... it wasn't until Nov before I had RESTRICTION... Be well  -
Ha,ha,ha... thanks Stephanie: Yes I can hardly wait to see YOU in that Biker Babe outfit. My costume was Super easy. Its all about layering. 1 table cloth 1 bed sheet(cut a small hole to squish your head thru) 1 pr white underpants(one leg over your face) 1 white turtleneck sweater(cotton or you'll die!) 1 pr white leggings 1 crucifix. 5 or 6 big safety pins... that was it!

Oh Stephanie; that sounds like a horrible weekend for you! All those stucky's and PB's... yeaowza!!! You did suffer. I too had a wee defill yest. and I still got stuck at lunch today, and then at dinner time too. My Dinner was roast chicken so I think that because I was so hungry I ate that FIRST bite too fast.... will I ever learn?? But I continued on with my supper and it was delicious, alathough I put twice as much food onto my plate as I should have.. EYES, they are still out of whack too. I can comfortably eat 1 chick thigh, OR 1 drumstick or 1/2 or 1/3 chick. breast, some veggies, 1/4 cup mashed pot. NO MORE... or else. God my Dogs love me... they know that even after 1 yr, they'll still get my leftovers. Thank goodness they are not fat!

o.k. I'm over on the picture brag thread

o.k. here are my Halloween pictures from work... I am the SINGING NUN the GI Jane in combats is my Boss :cool2:
-
Hi Girls, oh my so many N.S.V.'s today.... first of all I DID NOT eat any halloween candy!!! Whoo-hoo I will post up the pictures from Halloween at work on the pictures page after I get them edited o.k.??? too funny I drove to the Clinic yest. and got a TINY de-fill. -.10 cc to be exact. I was at 7.25cc's now 7.15 cc's... I was more comfortable last night sleeping. While in the big city I met up with DD and DSIL2B we went for Sushi, but I had sushimi - which is just the raw fish, its not all rolled up with rice and seaweed. I am allergic to iodine so I try to stay away from seaweed wrappers. So I ate Miso soup, Edemame(soy beans raw, blanced) and raw salmon, shredded chinese horseradish. OMG it was orgasmic!!! I thought TUNA was good! O.k. gotta go do the pictures. Phyl; you're party sounds fun, and it was sweet that the lady won for best pumpkin... I would'a been in tears. I love the doggies being taken everywhere too... I must tell DH about THAT! Maybe we should winter in Palm Springs instead of Fla.???? Janet: That was a great compliment from you boss eh? Ya, I kinda had to "behave" myself as a NUN too... but I didn't last long. Getting outa my car with a coffee and costume, something snagged and I dropped my coffee in the parking lot... an expletive F--- came out of my mouth.... 2 Hail Marys for that!! Then at my desk it was so hot in the costumes that we opend the front door to the clinic (it was kinda a nice day) and the BEES were flying in... so I committed another mortal sin and KILLED 2 bees!!!! o.k. now I need to gargle in the Holy Water !!!!:cool2:
-
Happy Halloween everyone! We've gotten into the spirit around here at work and I am sitting here typing to you.... dressed as the "SINGING NUN" Everyone at work just about crapped themselves with me in my wimple of white with a crucifix around my neck. The other gal came as a gun-totting gunslinger from the WIld West and mY boss came dressed as GI Jane!! What a hoot, so far I've resolved to stay out of the Candy !!! Yeah God be with you!

Hi gang; This morning was tight again. But I just took a shake in the car are sipped away on it, even into the office... It took about an hour to go in but I didn't PB it. Lunch was a fish sandwich and it was o.k. too YEAH!! I woke up in the night again with acid reflux, but I was able to get back to sleep after I took a gaviscon. Well I'm heading out to visit my Mom and taking my Woody dog with me.. Mom jsut loves her... CBL babes

Hey Janet; No my last fill was Sept 2nd, and wondered for several weeks if I still needed another cause of all the JUNK I was able to eat... remember when we spoke? Well in the last couple weeks the damn thing seems to have taken on a "life of its own" and now I am quite tight...???? Ya, I pb'd a protien bar for breaky, then finished the other half... think chewing WAS the issue here, lunch fine, Dinner... baked beans and AWK! got stuck... so now I am going to try something else, perhaps some sliced ham (sOLID) wrapped around a cream cheese w/ heart of palm for vegg. I'll let you know if THAT stays down. Are you doing o.k.? What's work like? Is it keeping your mind busy? HUGS :w00t:

You poor thing! I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I am glad that the infection is getting under control and that the Dr. is confident that your Band and Port are intact and unaffected. Hopefully this is just an aweful bump in the road for you. However, the costs that You have endured? Augh, I'm sorry but I'd be INSISTING that the Dr. covered those in full... it certainly sounds like either his OR was unclean, or procedures were, or the Fill Needle was unclean... How else could that have gotten infected, as you said YOU were all checked out Healthwise prior to surgery. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and wish you an uneventfull and speedy recovery. I had a leak in my tubing, that had to be corrected with a re-surgery last March... the Fill nurse had nicked the tubing (twice) during TWO fills... anyways it was months before I could get it repaired or prove to them that I DID NOT have restriction. Long story short, everything was paid for BY the Clinic not me... I too was self pay $18K
-
I emailed my Fill nurse today, told her I was PB'ing 4 or 5 times per week, and haveing this ache in my chest on waking... She suggested a slight unfill .2 cc's, I am so frustrated. Couldn't eat Breaky unti 10.30 a.m. and then PB'd 1/2 of it, then for lunch I ate the TOP of a pizza, no problem... Then supper I made Homemade Baked Beans... PB'd on them too... Shizza... so now I am going to have a shake and THINK about it all. Any opinions out there??? I am open

your TGIF Octoberfest sounds like it will be fun... I love Brats ever since Linda turned me on to them in Wisconcin!! Just skip the potato salad, have your pre=party glass of wine instead,,, speaking of alcohol... why none at the clubhouse? Seems a funny rule for socializing. God, Im freezing here today, snow on the ground!!! ITS BEGUN:blink: :) Welll, my day off so I am heading out to get groceries...dressing up for the adventure though. Later babes:girl_hug: to all the lurkers.... I know you're out there

Well let me see, what is your weight maintenance like? Are you holding your goal weight well? Sometimes being too tight creates its own problems too. I have a question for you, my lst fill was Sept 2 (have 7.25 cc's in a 10 cc band) and the last two wks my band feels like its tightened up some more on its own? Now I am liking the better restriction, as I CAN't EAT junk and I really have to concentrate on meat, but am doing o.k. with that plus I am able to stick to my 800 - 1000 cals per day..FINALLY! But my problem is now when I wake up in the morning, sometimes early 5ish I have this ache in my upper chest... its a weird feeling. Not burning like acid reflux (as I've had that before and know how it feels) and I am so tight in the morning I can't even drink coffee right away on waking. I have to wait to have breakfast, and then be REAL careful with that too. By lunch time I can eat my hard protien and supper too... so that's o.k. I was down another 1 lb this morning... so I am about that!~

No havn't heard from Karri either she must still be very busy with her new school year... its always kinda nuts unti early Nov. isn't it? I am sorry you are not feeling well Stephanie, there is a bad bug going around at work here too. One of the girls is coughing a lot and she sounds like she has pneumonia! yuk. How are the new poochies today? They would look sweet in little coats for winter. My JR's need coats for winter weather here too as it can get well below freezing. We've already had a wee snowfall... yikes:sneaky: The paint job is dry and the pictures are all re-hung, I put all the tools of the trade away and then realized that I forgot to take the masking tape(green) off the Motion Sensor alarm thingy at the ceiling in one corner of thre room - dah!! So gotta get out the ladder again. Hugs to all the NON posters today!~!! :w00t: :w00t:

Thanks Nena; I value your input... do I sound like I am being hard on myself? I cannot judge this for myself? weird huh? Yesterday and this past weekend I was 3 meals o..k. food choices and I am very happy with that. Plus I got lots of exercise painting my kitchen, family room and front hallway. But its always a struggle to control the food demon... I WILL one day at a time, if it is Gods will. -
Yes, this is only temporary pain. The gas will disipate soon, try a heating pad on your shoulder... plus KEEP ON WALKING that helps the best.
-
Ha,ha,ha... you look just fine without makeup and your Oprah bra... as it turns out I was painting yesterday and today and "I" wore my "over the head bra" too!! Your doggies are beautiful and they DO look happy to be settled together how sweet. Food good today, under 800 cals so far... still really TIGHT... but that's o.k. I am finally starting to LOVE my BAND... Painting complete and I did about 4 hours today...

Considering that this day started out so quietly on the thread, its certainly turned out to be newsworthy indeed! Phyl, congrats on your Son's plane and the flight. That is truly a miracle. You deserve to be proud. Your earrings sound nice too... Earl relented and let you buy REAL ones huh? That's cool. Stephanie; Wow, another pooch? You guys will go broke buying Dog kibble!!! But I can see how you fell in love with the girl too. Can't wait for the pictures. Janet; I am glad you got out to have some fun time. Even if you didn't stay out late. Its good to resume your normal activities. Are you eating enough? Sounds like you are getting some good sleep in.. take care of yourself o.k.? Kari; see just by posting first off its started a rush! I got some heavy duty exercise today and also stuck to my food plan. I started painting my Front Foyer, Family Room and Kitchen. It had to be done alltogether as its an open concept area so I needed to use the same colour throughout. I will have to finish it tomorrow, but I painted for about 5=6 hours today... mega calories!! WHew hew... I'll post up my calories in a minute.

12 Steps of Overeaters Anonymous
peaches9 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi gang; I am lurking back here on this thread because I've been sliding around with my food choices too. I belonged to OA years ago late 1980's and did very well. Lost my weight (60 lbs at the time) and kept it off for 3 years. That was the longest success I had ever had. Then we moved and looking for a new group was unsuccessful...or perhaps I thought that "I" knew it all. ANyways, yrs go by and my weight starts creeping up again. And time after time I lose, then regain, lose then regain more.... yada, yada... its the same story as everyone els I'm sure. I started exercising a few years back, had a bad back injury, ruined my knees and decided that o.k. I'm a lot older now and I am paying the consequences for my addiction. So I started investigating Lap Band and other W/L surgeries. I didn't qualify for Gas.By... as I had 90lbs to lose and not 100-! So I chose lapband. Problem being I was going to have to be self-pay. This took 1 year of convincing my DH and Physician who were NOT supportive initialy. I've had the lap band installed Jul07, then a repair done in Spring'08... I have lost 20 since banding, 40 pre-banding... but still have 30 lbs to go. I know I will get there with the help of this "tool" but I still have to do the "other" part... the "HEAD" part... that's where OA will come in. A few days ago I got out all my old OA books and started re-reading... I have been abstinant from junk food and sugar for 3 days.. Its a start. Good luck to you all (sorry this is so long, I just kinda wanted you all to know where I was coming from ) -
Nice story about the Hummingbirds Phyl... ours are all gone for the year, perhaps THEY are the ones at your feeder??? How was Fergie Janet? or did you go yet??? Exercise today, + stuck to my calorie count too... must update my ticker again. Feel like I'm getting the flu though,??? chilly and had the demon of the lower intest. today at work YUK!!!
