Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
peaches9 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think it is quite common to have Cravings until you have better restriction (in 3-4 fills) until then, be strong... it does get easier. Oh and Garlic toast, um well it will probably get stuck. I can't eat bread, crackers sometimes, pringles - fine.... even Pasta will give me trouble, but I can eat rice... Go figure?? For each of us it may be a bit differnt. Good luck to you and your Band! -
Hi Janet and GANG!!!! Yes, I am back from Havana Cuba!!! It was an awesome trip. Had few hiccups like flying out we got half way to Cuba(over Clevland OH) and had to turn back to Canada and change planes... ours had a malfunctioning 'light' on one of the engines!!! Anyways we carried on and arrived there at 4 a.m. but warm and moist.. Beaches were great, people were great, food was great... LOBSTER oh my! and then of course there was the RUM... but I did get sick of all the drinking by Wednesday. All in all we walked a lot all over havana and got some good exercise in... GAINED 4 lbs while away. so I don't think that is too bad. After Xmas I will get back on the band wagon... permanently. How has everyone else been? I've been trying to go backwards are read everything I've missed.. Love you all and missed you bunches:biggrin:

Janet, I think you are right about the first picture with the cars in the Background, they do look like 1958/59 Oh my, and the dresses... they were stylish huh? Packed and ready to fly... I have tomorrow off work, but i have to go in tonight for a MANDITORY Staff mtg... what that's about should be interesting... more later ... Peaches:rolleyes:
-
Congrats Donna, on your restriction... it sounds just wonderful!!! W/L is good too.. YEAH, keep it up GF

Hi Inuit Are you lurking? Have you been banded or just considering it? Peaches

Hey Alex, that is great... you look awesome too. I've seen your pic on TLBC website. I met you at the beginning of your journey. But perhaps you don't remember... it was at a nutrician session at the clinic I think. Still doing the chef bus? I am stuck in the 170's but after th holidays I will make a more concerted effort to lose the remaining 30 Have a great holiday season!

Have you had a leak in your port/tubing and had to have it replaced?
peaches9 replied to DrewsLou's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Goodmorning Sue; You should be able to eat chili and salad... How much chili? how much salad? Last night I ate 2 small pcs thin crust pizza, 1/2 cup salad... I was full... but earlier in the day could only eat oatmeal/fibre packet/skim milk (Slowly) and lunch was getting stuck? It was a Weight Watcher rice and bean thingy... just wasn't going in well... so I only ate about a 1/4 of it... came home and had a protien shake to make up the cals and protien. How are you feeling this a.m.??? tight ??? I hope so!! let me know how you are doing -

peaches9 replied to DrewsLou's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi Sue; I agree, drinking something HOT first does help 'relax' the band. Mornings are my worst... I am still trying to get oatmeal/fibre down now... slowly. I use a TINY child size spoon too. It helps me not to take to big a swallow. Congrats on your 4 # loss! I am relaxing a bit until after the holidays... Jan, no more sugar or desserts!!!! It's an aweful irony that we are so tight its hard to get down GOOD food, but the junk will slide right on thru!:w00t: I would be very alarmed if this was happening to me, have you contacted your Lapband clinic??? What are they doing for you?? :frown: :w00t: -
Hi Gang; On a more possitive note. Once upon a time, we used to organize a Toronto area Bandster lunch... just to yak and get support.. Does anyone still do this???? It does not have any association with a particular clinic just any bandster in the Toronto area???

 Dear JMH, your dreams of W/Loss are not over. Even though the Lapband didn't work out did your doctor mention waiting until you are well healed and then trying another procedure? THere is Gastric Balloon, Gastic SLEEVE and a Mini-Gastric bypass... Perhaps he'd cut you a deal on an alternative surgery, since the band was infected... Just a thought... I am so sorry for what you've been thru... HUGS!!!! :girl_hug:

Hey Gang; Just reporting in. Sounds like everyone had a good couple of days. Thank you all for the Chicken Casserole Recipes, I'll print out and use.... Yest food was pretty good, although after supper I was DYING for something sweet!!! So I had a 1/2 chocolate protien shake... dah! It was good, and then because it was liquid, I didn't have heartburn last night! YEAH.. Phyl I am extactic for you and your computer(s)... my DH and I have separate computers and our modum is on the fritz right now.... DH (Scottish) dosn't want to buy a new one... oh yeaH????? I will go out after and Xmas and get one on sale... Your one-pot-wonder sounds good, but a question? Is that TURKEY Kelbasa??? that you used??? I 'made" some Xmas gifts today. Celebration Cookie Mix in a Measuring Cup, wrap with ribbon attach instructions and voila!!! Then I made some Pepperment Chocolate Bark (too give away).... Tonight the "gang" from work is going out for Christmas Dinner and YukYuk's comedy show... Lord knows we can all use the laugh after this past week at work.!!! Take care everyone, and have a nice weekend. Love, C

Denise, so sorry that you have the crud! There is a lot of it spreading around up here too. My office is all sick, but I only broke out in a cold sore on my lip - so I got off lightly! LOL

O.k. I am back, just heard the speech from Prime Minister Harper (Conservative Leader of the House) Well the other political parties; Liberals(like your Democrats) , New Democrats(who are Socialists) & the Bloc Quebecois( who are traitors and want to separate from the rest of Canada!) have formed a Co-alition and want to govern the Country....... now we just HAD an election 6 wks ago... and now "they" want to overthrow the government that we just elected.... It is Crazy! This is what happens when you have too many parties all vying for power...argh~~~

Hi Ladies; Just checking in. I know my holiday is coming up, and I have not met my goals, either exercise or weight loss... In fact after the shopping trip, I am up 3 lbs. Janet, you trip yest. was enough to drive me to DRINK!! Getting lost in L.A.??? OMW... Steph, Car, Donna, Phyl, and everybody else... I cbl, but my Prime Minister is n the TV right now, gotta go.

Hi gang, Quiet here yesterday.... I know everyone's cooking/baking/eating etc... How does it work in the US doyou get a Paid holiday from your employer? One day or two days? to make it an extra long weekend? I am going to be in Erie Pennsylvania for Fri, Sat, Sun on a cross-border shopping spree.... I'll try and inject some $$$$ into your economy :grouphug: I was dismayed to hear on the news last night about the bombing in Mumbay, India... How horrible. Hopefully, the people responsible will be caught soon and dealt with accordingly.

Morning, Nope, no chocolate today!!! Unless you count my Protien shake for Breaky!!!!:tt2: And I got in my excersise today!! DH is away and the snow all fell off the roof, so I had to get up first thing this a.m. and blow it out of the driveway before it freezes in boulders that I can't move... The temp has warmed up a bit to above zero now its just messy... -

peaches9 replied to DrewsLou's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Dear Sue11; I feel for you girl... I had the same situation a year ago... Banded July 07, fills routinely done Sep, Oct and then in Nov 07 they must have "double stuck" me because within 2 days of the last fill.... nothing!!! I could eat a Mac Truck@! Then it was 3 months of flurofills (they only do them once per month) until I PROVED to them that I DID have a leak. Got my re-surgery in Mar08... and Doc put 5 cc's(in a 10 cc band) in at time of resurgery... now up to 7 cc's and have good restriction. This process is very frustrating... so hang in there... you're weight loss has been fantastic... -

Hi Mary and Doddie; Geez I've been reading about Jill being gone and it isindeed sad. I sent a test email... and I've had NO reply... not even... "she no longer works here"... They could at least say something like " she's gone on to pursue other opportunities" or something pleasant sounding. She deserves that! I am with you two, when I had very positive dealings with Jill. When I had my complication... she WAS THE ONE who steered me to the right person to get some action... I wonder how we could contact her??? JILL, IF YOU ARE OUT THERE LURKING, send us a P.M. so we know YOu're o.k.
