Candice, I need to put my list on here too. Maybe if I go back into my archives I can find it. It would be interesting to read. I was reading some of my first few months posts....man I was with it. I had it all together! Where the hell did THAT woman go? I need to get back to her. Stephanie: That is a good idea, going back to the BEGINNING of LB time and re-read how we were all so Gung-Ho.. I'm going to try and find and reread some good stuff. Woke up this a.m. feeling good, as I didn't junk myself out yesterday YEAH! I rolled over and it was 9:00a.m.!!! And I was supposed to be at work already... My first patient is at 9:30... so I called the office and canc. my 1st px. Haven't ever done that before!! So embarrassing. So Now I don't have to go in until 10:30. I am drinking my morning shake, WHey protien, skim milk, skim yogurt & Flax seed meal...all shuke up ... but its not going down well... Think I might PB my shake!!! WTF!!! Better luck with your boy today... ((Hugs)) for being a teacher and a teacher-Mom! CBL:lol:

Oh Dear Chim; I am so sorry to hear that you've had such a rotten time of it. Morning sickness sucks, and you also had to be worrying about the band slipping too. Thankfully, getting it removed will let all the nutrician you need to get to the baby. That's number one! Once your healthy and happy baby is born, you can re-assess your LB decision. Extra big Hugs to you girl, thanks for posting and letting us know how you are.

o.k. I've had 4 bad days of eating, so I decided its best to re-iterate to myself what were the reasons for initially getting my Lap Band SUrgery. 1) I was tired of dieting and always regaining the weight 2) I didn't want to spend the next 1/2 of my life as a fat invalid 3) I was tired of having back problems 4) I was tired of having Knee problems 5) I wanted to avoid High Blood Pressure and Heart disease. 6) I wanted to be proud of my Body 7) I wanted to stop feeling ashamed (of my eating behaviour) and like a failure( for starting and stopping diets) 8) I wanted to not always be thinking about food 9) I want to shop for clothes in a regular dept. 10) I want my hubby to look at me and say "Wow". These are the 10 things that I can think of right now, but I know there are probably more good reasons too. What did it cost me to get the Lapband? 1) I had to get real about my relationship with food (still doing that) 2) I had to get acceptance of LB by my family Doctor 3) I had to borrow the money for the surgery , $16,000 4) I went and got a job so I could pay back the loan 5) I had to learn to drive in a big city again ( I was phobic) to get to my fill appts. 6) I had to explain to my DH why "this" plan was going to work, after so many other attempts failed(God he's a patient man!) 7) I had to convince my DS that I was 'NOT" insane for getting surgery. She really thought I'd lost it. 8) It cost me 2 days of post surgical pain, TWICE to recover from the surgery 9) I had to relearn how to eat as to not Upchuck my stuck food 10) I learned how to calculate my protien requirment so I didn't lose my hair, and stay healthy What have I accomplished since July 07? 1) I have lost over 60 lbs that have not(for the most part) come back on. I still weigh significantly less than I did on surgery day. 2) I have learned that there is No Quick solution to my Weight issues. I am still battling with the demons. SOme days are easier than others. 3) I have had more days of 'Portion controled eating' than I have 'Reckless Abandon eating marathons... ' why is it the reckless abandon days are the ones that I use to measure myself worth.????.. NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! 4) I have become a respected member of my work team, in a feild that I had NOT considered prior to banding. And most days I'd tell you that I really like my job. 5) I have learned that there are people out there just like me, and who love me anyways inspite of all my warts. 6) I have met the coolest, foxiest ladies who have become my true friends, and all thru the internet... who knew??? 7) I have acquired a sense of gratitude, and hope that I can give back as much as I've been given. Sorry this is long and windy, but I just had to think outload and contemplate some thoughts.

Karri, what a great report... I loved reading it!

Karri; I am still crying as I read this post... What you said to Karla was BEAUTIFUL... My Mom is still alive, but like yours there were things said that "hit me like a bolt between the eyes"... I am not sure if she meant what she often said or if it was just 'thoughtlessness'.. I don't think I'll ever know for sure. All I know is that I had to 'forgive her' for all these past hurts.. because otherwise I'd not be able to look after her now. Karla: You are worth it, I am worth it... we are ALL worth it..

You are too funny! Alli!! I used that before , prior to banding.. Its aweful!! ANd ya know when I go out with Others is not when I have a problem eating... It's when I am "alone" going out on the town, I just eat 1/4 of the meal they bring.. I am full.. no problem. Its the JUNK that calls to me... still struggling with that. I am sorry that things are dissappearing from your Mothers room. Clothes, ? can you beleive it! GTR BBL

Hey Karla; You are human... We all have Pity Parties now and then.. Go back to the first part of your post... There are many positives there!!! Concentrate on those. I can relate to the Sibling comparison Issues... Oh man, we all have siblings that push our buttons. Maybe their mobil home will get a flat and they'll cancel and not come???? I'll send my evil alter ego "DIANNA" to let the air out of their tires o.k./??

Karri, Good Luck on your RUN! We are all ROOTING for the turtle.. You are awesome and so determined... Janet; I am here... been busy at work the last c ouple of days... also I was tasked with planning our "Active Lifestyle" presentation at the local Rec Plex. I did Laser demos on people, the Hypnotherapist was also great and she did a LOT of work on our Booth. We were there from 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. when we tore down. The Chiropractors showed up briefly and one massage therapist came and did Free massages for people. Our office manager came at 9;15 and helped us set up so it was great... and such a big help. BUt the HypnoTherapist and myself were there for the WHOLE day.. I am pooped. I'm sitting here(after supper) with my jammies on already!!! Tomorrow will be a Wii fit day and catching up on Healthy Candice stuff. Yest. Dianna got me for a bit...oh sheesh! Janet: definetly by the Wii fit off of karri, you'll love it... The hoola hoop thing is such a good work out!! I even sweat doing it, and I hardly ever sweat. Hubby made supper tonight, pork tenderloin, broccoli w/ cheese sauce and apple crisp. I had 1/2 a prot shake for breaky, 1/2 bagel and cream cheese for lunch... didn't fill out Sparkpeople today. WOw, do you all see the prices dropping on Lapband surgery on this site???? Stephanie: Hang in there with your son... YOu are NOT a bad mom... stop that thinking o.k.??? You have some hard challenges but that dosn't mean you are a failure as a Mom and no one can take your kids from you for being a good mom. Phyl: Glad you are all hooked up agian in the Cyber world... My back is sore tonight, think I'll pop a couple tylenol.. Cbl

Well back home and lots to catch up with. FRIDAY: Did very well food wise on my trip south. Had protien bar for breaky, one for lunch and Dinner was Swiss Chalet Chicken Sandwich, Picked out all the meat and left the Bun, had a couple of bites of Coleslaw and gave the rest to hubby. Just as we got to the restaurant, there was this skinny guy directing Cars into parking spots(there weren't many) so we thought "that's kinda nice" well we stepped out of the car and the fellow introduced himself and proceded to tell us his "story" he was an amputee, and had an artificial leg paid for by the war amps is on provincial disability and is married. He just needed some $ for food for the weekend. He'd already used up his Food Bank allowance for the month. I didn't even know that Food Bank had a quota... I guess there is only somuch to go around. Well more and more people are agoing to find themselves in this position... and we were pretty sure he was a decent guy, not looking for wine money.. So my DH opened his wallet and gave the guy a $20.. I was so glad as I was just about to reach into my purse... Ya know WE forget how damn lucky and priveleged we are.. Saturday: was bustling with visits. First there was the GIRLS luncheon there were 10 of us Swilling down wine, beer and appetizers... I brought really LEGAL stuff and cut my wine with water... doing pretty well with shrimp, hummos etc when the hostess says "OH, now we'll bring out the LUNCH!" OH my word, I had budgeted for my food so far... but LUNCH ? I didn't think there was going to me more food!!!! Oh ya, out come 3 quiches... she cuts each pie into "4" peices!!!! way too much for me, so I asked her to cut one peice in 1/2 again (therefore being1/8th of a quiche) I had salad on my plate....she says" NO! I can't cut it in half, as I already made the other girls take 1/4 pie."" I couldn't believe my ears!!!! SHe was going to MAKE me take more than I asked for!!.. So I stood my ground and said politely "No, really I am already full, 1 very small wedge will be just fine thanks." She continued to push the Fu#@ing Quiche!! So finally several others were now standing around and I said "look, I've had Gastric surgery to make my stomach smaller, I just CAN"T eat anymore" I put my plate down right there and stomped outside to "cool off"... Never have I met someone so freeking insensitive and pushy>>>> I continued visiting with the rest of my friends, and when it was time to go I said to her" Gee thanks so much for the lovely time, and for making me feel so WELCOME in your home".... well she wanted to Crawl under the formica countertop! GOOD!!! Stupid woman! Saturday NIght: Invited to another GF's for Dinner! Ha, you say... more freeking food????? Well luckily for me I told her I'd bring dessert, and she is a yucky cook, she BBq'd hambergers so I cut myself a 1/4, ignored the bun, had 1/2 a brat and some raw veg... that's it... OOOOh, ya, there was more wine!!! OMW we played Blackjack all evening and then when she went to serve my dessert most people were too full to eat it... no problem.. sent it home with some guests. SUNDAY: 1/2 egg, 1 WW toast and 1 slice bacon... protien bar for lunch, dinner was chicken, pineapple, rice & asperagus.... evening snack peanut butter granola bar... THis morning I woke up late, did 1 1/2 hours on my Wii, my Wii Fit age was 47!!!! Ya=hoo... plus I was down 2 1/2 lbs. YEAH!! Today food was easy, no breaky, lunch protien bar, super tuna casserole(rice, cheese, tuna, yam, onions) thats it for eating so far. CBL
