I take the Centrum Silver Chewables....( I am 55+ yrs) so they work well for me.... And to the other poster.... YES!!! I would love to have the recipe to laundry detergent!!! OMG I didn`t even think that was possible... as I already make my own MULTI PURPOSE cleaner for around the house... from Dr. OZ show... and it is cheap and works well. -

ooooh been busy here... Gig last night in Collingwood. we all got lost on the way there.. But Peter and I were still there to set up in plenty of time... MARK was REALLY lost. and didnt`get there until AFTER Peter and I had started!!!! Oh now when you are usually a trio things soound way different with just VOCALS and BASS ... but we banged our way thru 3 tunes and then Mark showed up... I made several jokes at HIS expense... ya know like... ``gee if you were a Woman, you would have STOPPED and ASKED for directions!!!!``` the old timers laughed their hinies off!!! It all worked out well, Mark played great... and came in a black shirt and black pants this timew.... yeah, now we just need to work on the HAIR!!! ha,ha,ha... but I kid him about that too. After we finished playing, many many people came up to thank us and shake our hands... One man gave me a $30 tip!!! That was cool... -

Hi well, I did hear back from my manufacturer of my band.. it is made of SILICONE, very rare to be allergic to it. as Silicone is made from SAND... an organic material .... So I am hoping it is just Laundry Detergents, Softeners, and DIsh soap... there are a lot of very heavy duty detergents in our households!!! So I only do laundry with IVORY SNOW (pure soap) put my wash thru an extra RINSE cycle, and use NO products in the dryer... I hang most of mky laundry to dry on plastic hangers, so NO BOUNCE, or DOWNY crap for me... As well, in my research, I found that our clothes become 50-70% more FLAMABLE when we put SOFTENERS in our laundry dryers... YIKES... think about it... kids cloths..< the manufacturers spend BILLIONS convincing us that we need all these USELESS add-ons in our washings... You can use vinegar in your final wash cycle to eliminate static in the dryer... Just a thought, plus I got rid of all SCENTED body lotions, shampoos etc.... rash is calming down... -

Oh gosh,. Janet and Phyl. sounds like you both have the flu... Chicken soup if you can get it down and tylenol and sleep!!! Thats about the best you can do... wait it out, it`ll run its course. HUGS Stephanie, wow you have a crazy life girl... but I am glad that you and Jeff stay so active during the winter... weather be damned!!! How is his weight loss coming.... Peter has `decided`that he needs to do South Beach... so I am complying and not serving any GRAINS, or Sweet pot.... so tonight we had Stir fryed cabbage(slivered) brocoli, carrots, onions, garlic.... then chicken breast chunks on top... the chicken was marinated in an INDIAN curry sauce, about a cup.... it was o.k., just NOT great, would rather have had it over RICE. Weekend eating was not good, but I am back on track now... just had to get the DOCTOR crap outa my head... she really pissed me off... my BP was up for 3 days. 150/100.... Went over and visited a GF of mine, a quilter. She`s 76 yrs old, quilts like a machine, she is always finishing something... she rocks... but was having trouble taking pictures(with her new camera) and putting things up on her FACEBOOK... so I went over it again and again until she felt comfortable... it was nice to be able to show somebody else how to do it... GOOD NEWS, I just talked to my GF (The one with breast cancer) sister.... Her total body scan came out CLEAR... she does not have any cancer in her bones, or liver or other organs.... so that is fabulous news, her 1st chemo tx is this Friday. Thanks everyone for your prayers sent up on her behalf!!! -

Hi Karla; I am glad you got some eggs and cottagwe cheese into yourself!!! Now with the drinking of liquids, are you taking TINY sips of water slowly, or do you try and drink 2 oz at a gulp? I know it sounds silly, but if you can get down semisolids, liquids should be a cinch---dosn`t sound like ULCER, sounds like BAND... get back to the guy for an UNfill... perhaps he refilled you too quickly and should do it in smaller increments... I know NOT what you want to hear, as like me you have to drive considerable distances for maintenance on the ``old wreck... HUGS honey.... -

.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P{padding:0px;}.ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage{font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;}.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P{padding:0px;}.ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage{font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;}Hi Cathy: ( my doctor friend that I traveled with to Europe) Total Cholesterol was 6.85 (above 240 mg/dl ) HDL was fine, LDL was not good 4.75!! (160-189 mg/dl) Triglicerides was 1.68 - fine... when I have more time, I`ll fill you in on all the other nos. Chol/HDL 5.1 BP 140/84, she had not ordered the inflammation test hsCRp.... Oh my god Cathy, it was the worst Dr's appt I have ever had... She flipped out on me and started lecturing me on 'Coming into her office with a binder" !!! What I had in my binder were articles on managing Cholesterol, diet options, supplement suggestions etc... She got totally defensive... I told her look, I asked for a copy of my numbers from the nurse before I came in for my appt. so I could read it and process the information...prior to having my physical with her... (saving time with NOT asking too many questions) so now I am afraid I got the nurse (my friend) in trouble with the stupid doctor. Quote " I am the kind of person who LIKES information, I like to educate myself and read up on things. This is how "I" process information, and ie... bad news!!!" I told her when I was diagnosed with Bipolar, it was a shocking bunch of information, a lifetime of medication taking... chronic disorder.. ya,ya,da.. So I went home and researched , I read every good book that I could read on the subject... Once I had information, and the feeling geez you are NOT alone out there... I felt better. My Shrink at the time, was very supportive, always suggested new reading material etc.., he was in the habit of HANDING me my blood work reports at each visit...checking my lithium numbers etc... I didnt' ASK him to do this, he offered! He never made me feel like I was STUPID for asking questions and being INVOLVED in my own recovery. She did my rectal exam, breast check, said I'll send you for a mamogram poop Smear thingy... we discussed whether or not to have a Colonoscopy vs. poop smear... I opted for the poop smear... well I guess she was so flustered that she forgot to give me the cardboard packet& envelop, then she says... "So how is your mood?" I said fine, no problems... take my meds as usual... no problems there... then she says, oh so then you are getting along fine on your VALPROIC ACID? now she's just been going over all my chart, telling me she has all these spreadsheets with my information on them, that I dont' need to bring a binder of stuff with me to my appts.(never have before this day) and I say, but Doc. We switched me to SEROQUEL 3 years ago!!!! Then she got very irratated, cause she'd made a mistake... ya, exactly... this is exactly why I learn about my OWN self and know what I take for what and why.... She gave me lab requests for mid-March(incl hsCRP, by my request... she didnt feel it was necessary, but I said I'd like to know the baseline number going forward) I was so pissed when I left her office Cathy I could just scream.... Got my lipitor 20mg and went to the pharmacy, they always counsel you on NEW Rx. so I took the opportunity to ask about the Lipitor, should I take other enzymes with it (because of my reading) and he said Oh yes, take co-Q10, and Omega 3'ss... GREAT, just what I wanted to know... she never suggested any supplementals, thinks its fru-fru medicine... Just take what I give you and shut up!!! I also took my BP , crap it was 150/100... thats how pissed I was !! 3 glasses of wine later, and a music practice...and I finally mellowed out. Anyways, don't know what I am going to do about this situation.... there are no doctors in this area taking new patients... so I'll just have to suck it up... and get used to being treated like a CHILD. Try to be more like a SHEEP at my next visit. -

Ah Phyl, you have just found your HAPPY place... weight wise, but like me you need to re-assess your WANTS and NEEDS.... for me I NEED to keep losing, I was stable for a year - but had a bit of a regain and that freeked me out to get busy with the BASICS... You will do what is best for you. I have no doubt. Karri, Here`s hoping that you get another SNOW DAY.... whoo-hoo... I only got out this morning for a run to thew quilt store ( an hours drive away) My DGF that goes with me to Block of the Month is in the throws of a bad head cold... sneezing in my car today!!! GOD, I hope I don`t catch that... I have 2 gigs next week, and rehearsal tomorrow night.. Janet; I`ve had a bitching headache all afternoon, no reason for it... I dont`usually get headaches... I took 2 Extra strengh Tyl`s , then an hour later I took an Ibuprofen( I dont`like taking them because of the band) but I was desperate to kill this headache. I even checked my BP... butit was fine.... So if it dosn`t leave soon, I may resort to a TYL£3 with codiene!!! Karla, hugs on the fill issues... I hate that after you go all that way for a fill, and then it`s too much.... grrrrrr... but play it safe o.k. like Dr. Janet said, if its too tight that s not good, and leads to SLIDER eating!!! which we all know is bad AND counterproductive. Oh, and on the tea, I switched to DECAF tea today, switched my coffee over to decaf a few weeks ago... we`ll see.... witht he tea its a tasste issue... if the decaf dosn`t taste exactly like my Tetley... then its going in the garbage!!! -

wOW, the weather in Texas sounds WORSE than what we are getting here... and here, its not nice... going down to -22 C tonight + the windchill factor.... but at least it is SUPPOSED to be cold in Canada... For Texans this must be an incredable SHOCK.... So Lee sounds like he`ll be sub teaching... thats good!!! And it is something he`ll like... did you say the pay was $75 per day!!!! Gosh, you guys should come up and teach in Canada, our teachers get paid way more!!! I have GF in London, On. she teaches Kindergarten , for the last 25-30 years... and she makes 6 figures.... now she is way up on the GRID because of all her years... but sheesh there shouldn`t be that much diff in pay!!! -

ha, ha, ha... Its ME you are picking up on the Sunday March 13th.... Linda comes in on the Monday I think... I just spoke with her on Skype she is fine, but really busy with work, Grandkids etc.... she is retiring from teaching MAY 17th!!! Can you beleive it.. she is now in countdown mode. Karri, oh yeah I`d want my hubby to get a job right now too. any job.... plus he can hold out for a teachers job for SEPTEMBER... perhaps you can both land teaching jobs in Oregon!!! but in the mean time, he could work at anything knowing it was only temporary and for a few months until you move back up north right? I`ll cross my fingers for you girl!!! and send EXTRA HUGS Karla; hugs on the Elyse issue... wow that girl can try a mothers love eh? I hope that bill on your CC wasnt; too big.... :-( Stephanie, I liked the comment from Karla... YES I have read that about caffine too... not good for our boobies!!! Can you go dedaf or will you go bonkers without your latte`s.... they can make them without caf. right?? I was told to LOOSE the artificial sweetners.... because they are really toxic for you bodies.... produce too much inflammation... well, y aknow... there are already so many things I`ve given up... ...hell I can`t live without my sweetners!!! Damn the nay sayers!!!! -

Morning girls; Well after my success in dealing with Peter and the CALI issue... I went to bed on a high note.... only to find out this a,m. that I have high cholesteral.... and I`ll be seeing my Doc this thursday for my annual physical... I am going to go on Cholesteral lowering meds... I have wanted to avoid this all these years... as everyone else in my family is on heart medications.... I was the LAST holdout, and because I got the band 4 yrs ago, and am down 65 lbs.... I thought that I would have dodged the bullet.... I am pissed, and disappointed... that I was not able to out sneek heredity... Crap I already got family curse No.1.. Bipolar like my DAD and Fraturnal Grandmother. and now Family Curse No.2.. Heart disease... Fuck, fuck, fuck.... I iknow, it only means anothwer pill.... but I was hoping,,,,, just hoping....I could avoid it. Dsister has been on BP meds since she was in her 40`s, and so has Dbrother too... plus he`s been on Cholesterol meds since 45... but he is WAY overweight.. my sister, maybe 10 - 15 lbs overweight... nothing serious... she was always SKINNY her whole life... I was thew chubby one, then my brother took on THAT role... but `I`` have always been the crazy one... (sister is questionable) Just having a wee pity party here, I`ll snap out of it.... So taking a poll here, who else of the 7`s is on Cholesterol medication? anybody?? My Detrol LA is working VERY well for the Overactive Bladder problem.... its great, only pee 4 times a day now, instead of 12 times..!!! -

ah, sorry Phyl if I offended!!! Pay me no mind! Well, the cat is out of the bag. When Peter came home today(gone since Fri) I said ``I have a proposition for you!``` How would you like to go to Cali with me in March? We would FLY together from To. to Indio , then you could fly from there to Victoria, B.C. on the weekend for your work...? and I`d fly home alone from cali? :```` so he thought about that and said, nah. .I`ll just fly from T.O. to Victoria for the week.... I said I``ve already got my ticket for free.... he never said anything like OH YOU CANT GO....!!! So yeah, I``m, over that hurdles.... Oh yeah, then I said `` Oh Earl will be so disappointed!!`` that you are not c oming.... ROTFLMAO whew, now I CAN stop worrying about that... has anyone heard fdrom LINDA?? -
if your stomach offends you.... Girl, you said it like it is... I loved your post... I am keeping it...FOREVER~!~ THANK YOU!! Candice (peaches9)

Ah Phyl, you are such a sweetie... Those kindnesses you show her now will come back to you in spades... what you sow, you reap... I like Janet cannot beleive she'll lose her trailer and home up north.. that is just aweful... living beyond your means like that is just plain living a lie... and now she gets the mess to clean up? Is that what he called love? leaving her with all that mess???? Ya know, I just had a bolt of lightning strike me in the HEAD!!! Earl and Peter would NEVER leave us in that shape... Let's celebrate their CHEAPNESS today!!! Rah, rah!!! I hate thinking about being a widow... it would just suck so bad... My heart goes out to your Red Hat Queen... I pray that she has the strength to live thru all this... Janet, I am going to tell Peter about CALI today... come hell or high water... Stephanie; God that post was AWEFUL.. see how much candor I am capable of with you girls.... Geez... I don't bare my soul like this to ANYONE!!! Karla; Good job on geting the UFO done.. whoo-hoo... dosn't it feel good? LIke cleaning out your oven, good.... I did that this weekend too... looks spotless!!! Now Peter beter not get it all gunked up with his EGGS in the morning!!! I finally found a great product for Stainless Steel cleaning... -
NO MORE excuses!!! There I said it... I need to exercise more and reading all you ladies posts above... got my mojo working!! It is snowy and icey where I live, and I dont like to miss my walking outdoors... I like to dress for the cold, and I found these really cool things for my boots. My dog pulls when I walk her, and I`ve been worried about slipping and falling... ( crap I am getting old!) anyways, there are these RUBBER grippers with little metal kleats on the bottom , they stretch right out to fit over any style of BOOT... voila! It works great... and I can go confidently walking outside... I prefer that to the gym...outside with fresh air is just nicer... Plus, I get to snoop at all my neighbors!!! Who has the clearest snow shoveled walkways, and driveways!!!! I know, boring, but I am retired, so small things amuse me

Hi gals, glad the /??$$?&&$//* site is back up, what was with that? Anyways, worked this a.m. at the clinic for one of the girls, Sat. is easy!!! Yeah and a cool $75 for my MAD MONEY Account. (aka California account) O.k. Stephanie, I`ve forgotten how old you are? dah... but what happened with ME was that the last 5-6 years of periods were really whacked out.. I`d get a period that would last for 2 weeks!! then I`d go a month, have a regular one, then 2-3 months NO periods, then WHAMM another 2 week horror... luckily for me I was on Mood stabalizers anyways for my Bi-polar so maybe that helped me eleviate the wild mood swings... but bad cramps, oh yeah. and very heavy CLOTS... so bad that I`d wear 2 super tampons + pad, and sometimes overflow that!!! I hated it at night... used to put a plastic sheet under my mattress cover on my bed... just in case. I hated surprises in the a,m. Now, Naproxen is good, as well as ibuprofen... but yup with band issues - maybe there is a better Rx choice like Karla said. Also, sorry a bit gross. ... but SEX always relaxed my uterus, so if you can swing it... sex DURING your period is awesome. ANtispasmodic, and also your body produces ENDORPHINS which make you feel better emotionally... Sorry about the TMI... my daughter still kids me about the ````Purple towel`` that I kept for just such an occasion... God, I hope nobody else reads this thread But alas, it will all pass.... it is great to be done with it all.... but now, we contend with Hot flashes and dry hoo-hoo`s.... we are never happy. -

Oh Phyl, you crack me up... I find myself doing the EXACT same antics... when I buy something I don`t feel Peter will ``àppreciate``!! Its horrible that it turns us into SNEAKS in our OWN houses... but I know exactly why you do it... It is Not worth the hassle of just coming out and saying Jee Honey, look at these cool sandles I got on sale? What follows is usually, pouting, or remarks about restraint, or jibes about How many shoes do yo alrweady own?? Ah Men, .... Phyl if we`d committed murder on them, back in the `70`s we``d have been out on bail by now!!! I have brought FABIC in the house inside of a CORN FLAKES box (nice size!) with the other grocerieas... the ladies at quilting always love that one. Well, we were supposed to have a music rehearsal tonight, but Mark begged off.... SNOW day here in Ontario... and smart people are just staying off the roads. So its gonna be tomorrow night for SURE.. we have our next gig on Feb 14th.. got another booking today too, March 8th!!!
