Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

Oh Steph, you sound so down. I am so sorry your life sucks so bad right now. You don't have to feel guilty for not "giving to us" on the thread, you have a full plate and its time for some "YOU" time. What kinds of things usually bring you joy? I know you have a good strong mate in Jeff... can you lean on him? What about a counselor? Did you have something t'd up with a family counselor - that might be a good place to start. No more talk about ESCAPING o.k.? You are stronger than you think girl... and NObody would want a world without STEPHANIE in it!!!! I MEAN IT.... You have had challenges in the past and you'll have them again... but the most important thing to remember is "THAT YOU have all the necessary tools to get you thru this.""" You have your faith in GOD You have your friends and family support You have anti-depressants if needed You have a good strong backbone and brain... I wish I was closer so I could give you a big HUG, or offer some babysitting releif for you... or take Michael for the weekend, just something to give you a break. BE stong, WE love you more than BETTER!!

Karla, how is your WATER intake??? I don't think it is the art. sweetners.... maybe this is just a plateau that you have to ride out. OR... try the WENDY PLAN; Mon 1000 cals, Tues 1100 cals, WED 950 cals;Thur 1200 cals, Fri1100 cals, Sat 1000 cals and Sunday 1150.... This way your BODY gets "tricked" into continueing to lose... if we eat the exact number of cals per day... Our bodies HOLD onto stored fat cause it thinks there is a famine... Just some info that I've heard. CAN

We've put in our time, we've dealt with unreasonable bosses and demanding clients and selfish coworkers for over 30 years besides raising our own families, maintaining our own homes, and in general nurturing everyone else. I'm eating what I want today because I feel like that's the only thing I get to do for me. Tomorrow I will be controlled by everyone and everything else--including my own body (and my perfectionist Dr. sister and her Dr. husband and their future Dr. gifted children). Today is about what I want. How bad is that? Happy Sunday, everyone; LInda I take it the visit from your sister did not go well? Or are you just glad to see them go? What is your family placement? Are you the oldest daughter/youngest??? I am the baby of the family, and when I get with "family" I am still 14 yrs old... I hate it!!! I am a caring, accomplished person, had a successful career and STILL them make me feel like a little kid. Linda; you are awesome... don't let the blues get ya... or if it does... make it a SHORT and SWEET visit from the BLUES BROTHERS. you are starting back on a full semester of work, so its natural to be stressed out with all the prep work you must do... have you and Mel sat down and figured out WHEN you CAN retire? THen start doing the countdown to freedom!!! Janet? must be a the gym today doing penance... I only have to suffer thru MONDAY and TUESDAY patients and then I'm off in my RV up north!...

Tilapia Fish, How I do it. Take 2 cups of Corn Flakes, put in a ziplock bag and Crush them all wiht a rolling Pin or beer bottle(hic) Then toss in spices... ie. Paprika, onion pwdr, garlic pwdr, salt, pepper whatever your taste buds prefer. Then rinse and paper towel dry your fish. Take a beaten egg into a bowl, DIP your dry FISH into the eggwash and then into the Baggie with the Cornflakes/spice mixture. Spread fish on a lightly greased (PAM) cooking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes at 350F.... YUM<YUM<YUM... even my Non-fish-loving Sister will eat Tilapia this way... or pan fry it too if you like. Both versions produce a nice crispy coating...

Hi Janet; oh GF... BIG HUGS for you!! Don't be too hard on yourself... you've gone such a long time without a major slip...Don't beat yourself up for feeling stressed about the move, car troubles, preggers Cat, or the insurance debacle... you did all you could to address the insurance issue... so don't worry about that anymore. And as for the tears, sometimes that's the only allowable outlet for "us ladies" if we scream and yell or huff and puff like the guys... "they" call us Bi!ches... you get all this pent up emotion from whatever source and it just has to boil over.... so we tear up. Its not woossy it's just how we were raised as "nice little girls" and as much as you hate doing it...we are almost powerless to stop the flow of tears. ( I know I am!!!) I don't slam doors, or stomp my feet or YELL at my spouse.. I just go have a real good cry and sometimes that's enough to blow over... {or if I am REALLY ANGRY i clean the house like a demon} I liked what you mentioned about "having so much to be grateful for" .... once the dust settles its easier to have better perspective and then count your blessings. Start with a small list of grat's and then build on it daily.. I often tuck this little tid bit of paper away then, months later when I'm feeling poopy - I drag it out and re-read it... It helps me very much... Karla; I know a few teachers who just dread this time of year.. it dosn't mean you are a bad teacher = its just that your perspective changes over the years... You start out very idealistically and then reality sets it... I think NOW you are just wise enough to be real about teaching... Linda & Phyl; the RV is getting full of kitchen stuff, BBQ equipment and all kinds of other little tid bits. Yesterday DH and I went shopping for creature comfort things for the RV. Its all good, he's getting more "into" it now... I had my afternoon nap in it yesterday with the FAN on... very comfortable.. Have to go find DOUBLE sheets now... Everything I own is Queen or King. More later ladies!....

o.k. now I am no Nurse or Respirologist but common sense wise... it kinda makes sense to me to increase the air flow as you have lost 120 lbs... and if our tissues on the inside are anything like the tissues on the outside(skin) then maybe this loose flesh is colapsing more into your wind tube and creating some blockages for adequate air flow. JMHO

Hey Linda; I know you think of US guys often... I can feel your presence at times too.. several times during the day thoughts of the "Seven's" pops into my thoughts... I smile, remember something we all laughed about - its such a nice feeling to have such GREAT FRIENDS... it really sucks that we are all so far away and that we only have next years adventure to look forward too. I love the sound of the SPA... yummy indeed. I had a nice letter earlier today from Phyl.. her preop testing day went well... Tomorrow I'm going to start stocking the RV with kitchen stuff, bedding, towels etc... so it'll be all set to roll whenever HIS HIGHNESS decides he can take some time off of this OTHER hobbies.. Weather this weekend is supposed to be GREAT, so I don't know why he is waiting... oh yeah, he can work in the shop when the rains come!! Night, night. Love C

Congrats on the Pregnancy!!! Oh my a Grand Mother again??? Errands today, my OHIP card was about to expire (Aug 31) and I had to go down to the Gov't offices and get a NEW photo taken and let them know I continue to want to be a TISSUE/ORGAN donor if I'm ever found dead somewhere... I know its morbid, but I truly beleive in Organ Transplantation, and if you don't sign the little card - your wishes might get missed. Dropped in on my Mom for a couple hours, read teh news paper together... its hard for her to keep up a conversation as she gets out of breath so easily... But that's o.k. she is Happy just to have me sitting in the room with her. IN an hour I go off to work, man I am dreading the place most days now... that is not nice... as I LIKE my Laser job and I love my patients (99%) of them anyways... its just the ditz at the front desk... I can just see her scowl when I walk in... even though I saved her 'bacon' yesterday, that won't ever be mentioned... or a "thanks Candice for helping me out"... GOOD NEWS, tomorrow I have the day off and Peter and I are driving to pick up the R.V. then "I" get to drive it home... Peter will be driving our other vehicle with a tow of Wood befind it...( don't ask, more wood for the Shoppe?) Today, he's building an "URN" for a friend of ours... her DH passed away a few years ago and Peter made his URN to hold the ashes... Well DW likes it so much she hired Peter to make one for "her" ashes... (when the time comes its all ready) May be a cottage industry there???? Humm???? Have a great day ladies!

At work, between patients right now... so I am gettng a FREE laser treatment while I wait.... I am ready to KILL the fulltimeer on the Front Desk. I got to work this a.m. and ALL the computers are down. We've had thunderstorms all weekend, so I know what the problem is.. the Modem, Switch & Router need to be reset... before all the computers are turned back on.. Well, SHE just wouldn't listen to me...!!! She kept panicing and telling the customers that were waiting.. "OH we're having tech problems today" I dont' know What I am going to do???? I tried to tell her... nope, she's not listening.... She's gonna call the computer guy..... ARGH.. I said POLITELY, "Can I make a suggestion Lori?" I think I know what the problem is.... Oh, just wait... I'll reboot the computers agian... (that won't work as you have to disconnect in sequence - and she is STILL NOT LISTENING TO ME) OmGosh! After fritering away 30 minutes with all of OUR patients waiting, she finally lets me speak.... I get on my hands and knees crawl under her desk and re-set the Modem, ROUTER, & Switch... she didn't have a clue how to do it... but she was hell bent she wasn't gong to listen to me either!... Anyways, I get all the wires unplugged, WAIT 2 mins for the reset. and replug everything back in... VOILA!! can you beleive it? Candice actually KNEW how to solve a problem!!! Dozzy ding-bat!!!

Ah I know what you mean about finding the "RIGHT" bra... those little things are elusive at best!! sINCE i FOUND THE black and tan version of the OPRAH bra's last yr at mal of amer. I have worn nothing else... I love them! Another dear friend(Ray) had his KNEE replaced last week here in Canada... I asked him "hey did you have to go to special class to learn the best positions for SEX after surgery?" Well he hadn't heard of it and replyed.. "SEX? are you kidding me - My idea of "A GOOD TIME" is getting on and off the camode by myself".... ROTFLMAO We took him over "swiss chalet chicken" for dinner, its his favorite and lord knows he can't drive right now... it was a HIT... He was very glad we popped over, then we stayed and played a round of BOGGLE... which was really fun, cause Ray being on Percocett's was kinda at a disadvantage.. and Peter and I cleaned up!!! How many more sleeps until your surgery? RAY is so glad that he got it done... the discomfort from the staples is nothing compared to the Pre-surgery pain of just walking.. He is totally pleased with the op and wishes YOU well too.

I just don't get it  Well, back from fabric shopping for the back fabric to my Baby quilt so I'd best go and get it sewn together so I can start quilting it!!

Candice, when you head south you can drive west to Montana, spend some time in Glacier and Yellowstone....see Karla and me...and THEN go south. You know what I'm going to tell Jeff tonight during pillow talk....how unfair it is that we can't retire :wink2: You are such a bad influence :nanahump: Stephanie; I would love to drive out across to Montana... how cool would THAT be! But I'd have to stop at Dear Linda's first in Sheybogan!!! I can hardly wait to see it and drive in it and camp out overnight... I know I sound just like a little kid! ;< )

Congrats on the RV Candice! Looks nice! Joint replacement class all morning... learned a lot. Was pleased because some people inferred it might be a waste of time and it was NOT! Have a whole folder of stuff to look at, including "Sex after Joint Replacement", complete with pictures of suggested positions! Old people pictures! TMI! At least they all have clothes on! LOL! I do have a new list of questions for the ortho surgeon when I see him for my pre-op appt next week.... none related to the afore mentioned pamphlet! Phyl, I gotta find some 'new' positions!!! Can you email me?? Remember, Peter dosn't have an artificial knee... but I am sleeping with a RETIREE now - so I am sure there are some adjustments that we need to be making:tongue_smilie: Also, the RV dosn't have a QUEEN size bed, its only a DOUBLE >>>> :nanahump: I don't know how we are going to sleep in THAT... when we are used to a KING in the house..OMW :wink2: Shopping for a new flat screen TV this weekend to put in the van. Then Peter is going to remove 1 or 2 of the seats and make an armoir for extra closet space. There is a microwave and a toaster oven built in..

We are going up to Temagami the week after next to my DSisters place... That'll probably be our Inaugural trek in the R.V. got so much to do at home this week. Peter started tearing down the fence in the back yarad today, to put in a New Gate for the RV to fit into the backyard... so that'll keep him busy for a few days.. Twig does NOT like being tied up to the laundry line...:wink2: Woody took her advantange and made a bee-line down Red Oak Drive away from the house helter skelter... for an old girl she was running pretty fast!!! Peter was calling it the GREAT ESCAPE!!
