    Bipolar type II

Dear Rachnet: I was reading your post and felt compelled to post back. I am BIPOLAR Type I, the more sever form than what you've been diagnosed with. 1st what did your primary care Doctor think of this diagnosis? Surely he sees you on a more frequent basis, spanning many years??? If indeed you are Bipolar, don't get to freeky about the LABEL, it is a manageable illness. I was diagnosed in 1990 at age 34. I had had several bouts of severe depression but never any mania until the first episode in 1990. There is a strong genetic link with bipolar, look back in your familys history, is there anyone else with a diagnosis? I have raised a family, married 35 years, had a career (2 actually) and several promotions along the way. There is no need to think that with a diagnosis people don't 'function' that couldn't be further from the truth. I also ran a support group for bipolar folks for 10 years. You might want to try one of those too - it may help you to accept your diagnosis.. much like Diabetes or Asthma it is a chronic illness but very manageable with medication(s). I must confess that before MEDS i started many jobs, and then later Quit them... because of depressions or I just couldn't 'play well with others' LOL... it was ALWAYS someone else's fault... not my moods... But alas, I am much more EVEN tempered now, as my long marriage will attest. It is not easy accepting a diagnosis... there is a greiving period that I went thru. But never a disbeleif... I think I knew deep inside that there was something 'different' about me but I could never put my finger on it. Diagnosis and medication and a good shrink have IMPROVED my life, not taken away from it. I hope this helps somewhat... Peaches9:mellow:

Ya know, Ive noticed that since banding I daon't have as much "gas" as I used to.??? Is that because we just don't have the volume of food for our tummies to deal with??? Now theres a "N.S.V." for today LOL:tongue:

Thank you for your email Candice. The cost for a tummy tuck would be approximately $5000.00 to $8000.00. We do them here at Lakeview Surgery Centre together with a plastic surgeon. The consult is at no cost to you and I would be happy to book you in for this with Dr. Guirguis if you would like. Lynne THIS clinic is located in Barrie, On... is very close... and the price is better than I had thought!!!

{Janet} ll this afternoon I was trying to figure out when I can get it done - 2010 Thanksgiving - I take 2 weeks off - so I would be ok by the time I went back to work :00 So are you referring to a FACE lift, or a Tummy Tuck? Thanksgiving 2010 would be a perfect time... I'll have my weight off by then and we could go Together to Costa Rica... Yeh-haw!!!

Oh my Gosh Phyl, you went all the way south without your Sewing machine??? I'd go bonkers if I was away for 5-6 mos without sewing!!! Karla, YUk that does sound like the sewing job from HELL.... who volunteered you for that??? I got ONE block done today for my monthly project... its is yellow circles on Blue background. Kind of like Pie Crust and its filling... ( hahaha I knew you'd LOVE the food analogy!) Anyways, 4 squares go into the block and instead of facing all the Pies into the centre to make one large CIRCLE I let ONE of the squares point outward... Looks cool, but when Peter saw it he says "uh, I think you made a mistake in that corner???" He has NO sense of design.... I still think its cool,, I'll try and put a picture up.

I AM NOT GOING OUT TODAY I a sewing on my Blue/Yellow quilt in the basement...only a few more months to get it completed then I'll send pictures to brag!! Karla, of all the sewing jobs in the world I HATE hemming pants the most... I guess that's because I married a man 5'7" tall and his inseem is 28" so you can't even buy jeans the right length.... sheessssh... BUT I am lucky if that is my MAJOR pet peeve of my life LOL. I want to wear sun glasses:glare: oh and by the way.... WEIGH IN this a.m......180.2 lbs.... that means I've lost my XMAS pig out pounds!!! YEAH ME!!!

Really??? how much rent per week? What airport would be fly into?:smile2: You can fly in to Palm Springs. Or Ontario and rent a car. Our DD & SIL are coming down mid-Feb and flying in to San Diego. Last year they flew in to Vegas, but that's a few hours drive. Ontario is about 1 1/2 hr, San Diego maybe 1 1/2 - 2 hr drive. Can usually find a rental for about $50 or so a night...definitely under $100 here in this park. Or probably no more than $500 for a week. Monthly rent is in the $1500-1600 range depending on unit. O.k. I just checked flights to San Diego Ca... 387$ Cdn each, so a fair bit cheaper, so we'd just have to drive 2 hours to Palm Springs??? Thats not too bad, as we'd need to rent a car for the 2 wks anyways... Plus, I've never been to San Diego, Peter has with the NAVY many years ago, it was always one of his favorite ports of call. Karri, the new school in Portland sounds awesome... when would you start there???

OMGosh! I was just out to the gym and then to WALMART where I got my HAIR cut... the lady asked me if I wanted the SENIORS DISCOUNT too.... WTF???? No Janet, we don't look that old... people are just NUTS... I agree I didn't want the 10% off either geeeeez.... I said to the lady, there must be a better way to ask people if their Old enough for the discount without affending them??? Lets come up with something creative... this is the 2nd time this has happened to me in a MONTH!!! burned 344 calories on the Bike, and Treadmill(incline 10%) and I also did my weights program... logged onto the fitlinx and it said I lifted 5500 lbs today, but that didnt' include my 500 lbs on my biceps curls and Hammer curls(free weights) and 60 lbs on my girly shoulders . My trainer calls them the MADONNA CIrcles... with a 3 " dumbell in each hand you extend your arms out straight from your shoulders and do little cirlces 10 forward and 10 backwaard... It KILLS... but its so worth it, I'll get definition in my arms. I didnt' feel especially strong today, I was gettin gstuck on my breaky so really didn't have any caloures to do my w/o on... dumb I know but it was better than not going at all. Michelle called and wanted to go w/o at 5:00!!! Na, I wanted to go and get it over with.. then I drove acrosstown to WallyMart... picked up some skim milk pwdr, sf ff puddings, some 100 cal snacks, and popcorn... Karla, email me your Phone # so I can call you.... Janet has it????
