Hi everyone, stopped for the night , just south of Memphis, Tn. We will explore there tomorrow, perhaps for a couple of days. THe flooding around here, and to the west to the Mississippi River is just terrible.. These poor folks, they don't need more trouble. This town we passed thru TUNICA, MS, is a gambling Haven, just 45 mins south of Memphis... 4 or 5 very large Vegas Style casinos... alll under Water today... they are CLOSED for 4 weeks until the river crests... terrible for their economy down here... Found a NICE r.v. spot today... (phew, thanks passport America!) WE have laundry (done) excellent WiFi (thanks!) and clean, clean, clean restrooms and Showers (yeah!) We might stay 2 nights here... before progressing north again. I want to stop at Shipshiwana in Indiana (I think) and do some serious shopping while there... Linda: we are having BBQ'd Brats tonight on the barby... YUM... I can hardly wait.... onto my 2nd glass of wine... Made SURE I bought my WINE before we hit Kentucky, don't want THAT experiance again!!!

wow, what a great day on the thread... everybody is posting... YEAH... well... we still have to kick Stephanie's butt.... but Im sure she'll turn up. Much better day today... oh I agree abouyt the HATS for the WEDDINg. MAN Fergies's daughters must have worn those 2 ridiculous things in PROTEST as their MOTHER was NOT invited to attend... Peter has finally cooled down... hot driving around today, little Bridget is just not getting used to the HEAT... she is a Canadian DOG!! We found a RV park ( I did ) in downtown VIcksburg, across the street from a casino (no I am NOT going over there) we have WiFI of course DAH! and a pool!!! Yeah, a POOL.... now no one is in it because its too cold.... er...NOT!!! WE Canucks like it when there are ice cubes floating in pools.... Met an interesting guy this a.m. at McDonalds while having Breakfast and TMI..... they always have wifi and clean bathrooms ,, er Restrooms.... anyways, he hollers over... Where yal from? You sound like YANKEES... we'll we nearly laughed our asses off... He then invited us to join him for church... "come as you are, no one will mind"... ah, I guess we are starting to look pretty bad... I havn't worn makeup since we left Denise's house... ha,ha,ha nobody to impress for the rest of the trip!!! Hi Ladies; Well I got up at 8 a.m. today... guess what? the people who own the RV park opened up the party room, and turned on the TV for me and another Canadian (from Woodstock) to watch ! WHoo-hoo, now by 8:30 a.m they were already married but we watched them kiss twice on the balc. at Buckingham Palace.. (never been done 2x before!!)) Oh the shame of it!!! Then we turned on another channel that was in a diff time zone and watched the BEFORE wedding stuff, DURING stuff... it was all grand! Peter was pissed that "I" delayed our leaving of the RV park, and he was a cranky ass all damn day... We finally get to Natchez and find an RV park, it has wifi, but DAMN it dosnt work in our Camper, we are surrounded by BIG RIGS grrrr, so I am sitting in a grove of trees in the middel of the PARK... annoying, but The view is the Mississippi river!!! So what a biatch I am to complain huh??? Ya, Denise - I miss you too! I'[ve been prac tising my DRAWL all day long, How Y'all Doin' down He=ah!!! My favorite is " a Hot Mess" love that one, cant wait to use it back home in Canada... Got an email from my Welsh friends today, they have bought their AIR tickets and are coming to see us in JUNE.... for 2 weeks, so I'll have to plan lots of stuff for us all to do... should be fun.... and ah, oh! more partying Y'all!!!!

hi everyone, just getting all caught up with the posts of the last several days.... Denise showed us a fabuous time, New Orleans is Awesome, Awesome, Awesome... Cant wait to go back there some day!!! Ronny (Denise`s DH) is an absolute doll!!!! And they were so much fun to hang with. Southern hospitality is everything you`ve heard and Then SOME!!! Denise`s DD and SIL to be were a real treat to meet. They were so much fun to be with and they didn`t mind partiing with us OLD FOLKS... and today, I am feeling 55!!!! OMG we partied like nobodies business. and thew things we SAW out on the street in N.O. was , well indiscribable... I`ll have pictures for you all once I get organized and I`ll put them up on Facebook, much easier than on this web sitew anymore.... Karla, hugs on the paper, I know how hard you work on it. Chin up girl Linda; so happy to see you posting... you must be feeling a bit better eh? I hope so. Janet so glad you are getting your results soon, keep us posted.... we love you!!! I am certain that he will sort out that mysterious leg pain and have you back modeling for the WEB site for Lapbanders....ha,ha,ha. Karla; sorry about your washing machine, I know I hate spending money on maintenance stuff.... much more fun to just go buy WHAT you want....ie the new floor... Shower stall too?? Peter and He Sailed together in the Navy.... accutaly when thru maritime training together, shared a cabin etc.... its been many many years but we`ve always stayed close.... well there was a phone mess from him to call. So I skyped him this afternoon, and after I blather on for 5-10 mins about our trip; He tells me ... ah, I got some bad news to tell you.... immediately I thought about their dogs!!! But it was Genie, my girlfriend... she died very suddenly... One week she was fine, then the other... she was gone. She is 10 yrs older than me, but we were always close... being Navy wives, and being left to our own decises for many m onth s at a time... she waas like a sister. Well, she went in to have a colonoscopy,,,, routine.... well the damned surgeon punctured her bowel, didn`t know it at thwe timew... she startewd bleeding into her belly.... didn`t know where the blood was comong from, gave her strong diatretics, blew her kidneys, then her heart failed .... all in a mater of days.... aUTOPSY SHOWED the perf. bowel... so that was the mistake. Tragic. I dont know how to begin to comfort my friend... So as we swing north homeward bound in acouple of weeks, we are going to go to Ottawa and visit him for a few days... as we`ve missed the funeral and all... SHe was burried on her 65th Birthday... even Peter cried... and he never does.... On a happier note, been in contact with Denise and we should be seeing her in a few days. In Gulfport Ms. tonight, nice quiet place....and we have WIFI... so skype me if youwant to.... Miss y ou all!! Hug your spouses real tight tonight, and count your blessings... Yes, Karla, last summer we sold the LEISUREWAY motor home, and in Aug we bought a DODGE ram Cumminms engine Deisel TRUCK with a BIGFOOT camper on the back... It is wonderful... more space inside ... and a QUEEN size bed over the cab... plus the Dining room ( LOL) converts to a nother DOUBLE Bed... so if we don`t want to sleep together in Old Age, we`ll both have a bed.... YEAH.. So far, I can still stand the snoring... so we`re together, ah with Bridget of course sleeping in between us under the covers Good luck with the homework !

Hi girls! Well nice to see everyones busy as usual. Drove alot today, tonight we are camped just outside Mammoth Caves State Park, we are going there tomorrow to go underground and explore! Bridget has been a little doll, except for this a.m. when peter let her run off leash, and she found some DUCK SHIT I was not pleased!! Then, wile I am in te shower he WAShES her off in the Communial Dish washing area outside!!! OMG if anyone had seen him there would have been a meelay masacre. Very very windy last nigt.. I thought I was gooona wake up in KANSAS!!! POURED Rain all night... needless to say I didn`t sleep so good... tonight will be better. Weather forecast for tomorrow looks good... we are staying her a couple of nights, lots to do here and in Bowling Green KY.. OH yeah, the biggest disappointment today? Half of this state is DRY... WTF? Isnt`this Kentikyu where they MAKE Jack Daneils???? So we drove all day, stopped at a Krogers to get groc. for dinner, Wine, wine, Vodka, Kahlua, Diet Pepse..... ya know COLORado cowboys!!! I was looking forward to it all day!!! OH sorry Mamme, we are a dry county... no booze at all.. but you can drive back an hour from where you came and THEY have booze!! So i am splitting a beer with Peter with Clamato juice... not my fav... but hey its alchosholll.... Love you gys, <Miss you... sorry laptop typing sucks

Karla, I do my fish like JANET.... dip dryed(-aper towels) fish in EVO then roll in cornmeal crumbs ( or crushed corn flakes work too) that have been seasoned with spices that you like.. onion, garlic etc. then I spray it to death with butter flavored PAM then bake it on a cookie sheet for 12-15 mins. at 350 or 400... it will turn out perfedt. I have never been a big fish fan... but this way works for mE.. I use tilapia, BASSA, Halibut is good too, Janet loves her catfish. Janet: yes we are getting ready to go. BIG problem this a.m. shower faucet in the Upstairs bathroom decided to BLOW... water everywhere.. So peter is fixing it, got the water turned off... etc... he is swearing up a BLUE STrEAK , so I am hiding in the basement!!! Got 2 gigs today, then pak the van tomorrow , then hopefully we leave on THURS. Cripes, he is getting nasty... dosn`t want to go on the trip now!!! I suggested we go live in a CONDO and sell the house (LOL) he is just catastrophizing.... its comical really... he dosn`t get this RYELED Up too often. So he thinks I am playing on the computer when Ive got all this work to do.... but I am just staying well away from him at this point. PHYL, how`s Earl doing... is he still running around trying to leave the park? You must hate this part of the year.. packing up to go home after you;ve had such a fun winter... HUGS

Pretty quiet here. Peter got the RV truck camper out of the backyard today!!! The Ice has melted enough to get the tarp pulled off of it. We put the batteries back in and now we need to do an oilchange etc... should be ready to roll out Wed or Thursday.. I finally finished Geo. W. Bush's autobiography Janet, remember I started it on my trip to Cali.... was a pretty good book, all in all.. You know I am not a GOP enthusiast but It was interesting to learn his thoughts on the process of governing... always a good I idea to look at both sides of the COIN. Anyways, now I need a pockey novel for my trip... glad I got finished that one cause it was a hard cover and heavy! Havnèt heard anything from Linda or Mel... so I am taking that as good news! How many days left of school Karla, are you on the countdown yet!!! HUGS

Hi girls, just got this email From Mel, regarding Linda: Linda had her surgery this morning. Everything went well and she is back in her room resting now. She hopes to be home by Wed night. I will try to help her with the therapy at home. I think that is all a matter of setting the vacuum cleaner out! I may have to point out the places she missed because she will not be able to bend at first. All kidding aside I will be home for the next two weeks to wait on her every need. Thanks for checking on her Mel And Linda Ah, Karla... that is so sad about the dog being given away!!! I would want to Cuddle with something that "loved" me.... but then I am such a sucker! O.k. the CHOPCHOP quilt... pick 2 very contrasting fabrics, cut 10 inch squares,(40 in total) lay right sides together.... now on the top right corner measure down the right side 2 1/2 inches, make a mark with a pencil in the 1/4 margin... you will use tis point to sew from. THen on theLEFT bottom corner, mark with a pencil 2 1/2 inches up from there. SO no you have 2 pcsof fabric lying face together and diagonally aposing pencil marks - right? o..k. take the squares, pinned together to the sewing machine. Start sewing at the RIGHT TOP pencil mark downward, get to the bottom RIGHT corner and pivot your needle(do not take it out) then continue to sew down the full length of that side... let the threads go all the way to the bottom.... TAKE IT OUT OF THE MACHINE and TURN the squares 180... Put your needle back int the Fabric at the PENCIL mark at 2 1/2 inches... repeat as above, pivoting when you get to the corner. Complete sewing as above. NOW, what you should have is a SQUARE sewn all around the 1/4 " edges EXCEPT for the two places of 2 1/2 " that are not sewn. THey should be on diagonaly apposed corners... WIth the TOP RIGHT (open) pocket facing right.... and the BOTTOM LEFT open pocket facing down the left side.... PLACE your 24" straight ruler DIAGONALLY top left to bottom Right... CUT thru both layer, including the stitchig lines.... Take the top right corner and FOLD it DOWN and t the left bottom corner. Making sure to line up the triangles on topof one another perfectly!!!! You will now have the widest part of the triangle at the bottom LEFT o.k.???? placed diagoally left to bttom right. DO NOT MOVE THE TRIANGLES!!! take your long ruler and place it vertically against the LEFT edge of the fabrics, measure 2 1/2 " and cut completely top to bottom. DO NOT TOUCH THE FABRIC, do not disturb it. Take your long ruler and place it now HORIZONTALLY across the bottom edge of the fabrics. AGAIN cut 2 1/2" Right to left horizontially. SO now you have done the CHOP CHOP.... Pieces yeilded are... two squares from the bottom insides.. these will mae a 4 patch.... sew them. Then there will be 4 peices recangles really with pointed ends. Yellow on one side BLUE on the other.... two of these get sewn to each apposing sides of the 4 patch. This is UNIT ONE. There will also be 4 triangle peices(singles) sew one each of these to each side of the" Pointy arrow looking peices(2 colors) " These then become UNIT 2 & 3 Join UNit 2 to Unit 1, nesting at the seams.... PRESS... then sew Unit 3 to Unit 1.... BLOCK is now complete... Take your large Square Ruler ( 12 1/2 " guy) and square up your BLOCK to 11 1/2" sq.... I make 20 blocks in total,large lap size quilt, add borders,, one skinny, one 5 1/2" wide... and you are DONE!!!!

Oh Karla, I am so sorry to hear about your GF`s husbands suicide; That is just devastating for her... but you are a good friend... and that is what she needs right now... good friends to lean on. If I can offer a tich of advise, please let her know that HIS killing himself was NOT about HER.... at all.... Each person on this earth is responsible for themselves... beit getting on a diet for themselves, seeking a Psych. eval for themselves... etc... This SUICIDE is on HIM.... I pray that you can help her understand that she is not quilty of this... It was HIS choice.... albeit a bad one, and one with terrible ramifications for those left behind. He was ILL and in need of prof. help... he obviously chose not to do this. I feel so badly for her.... my Dad committed suicide... and for many years I thought it was my fault, or I should have done something, or I should have been a better daughter......after much analysing... I finally came to the conclusion that it was hil illness ... it had absolutley nothing to do with me... then I was able to forgive him... I pray that your friend makes it thru this not her fault.
