Hi gang; Back from `COFFEE`` with Mark, the guitar player.... well I didn`t get raped, and apparently he is NOT an ax murderer either ---- Yeah!! Actualy, a really nice guy. Had a couple of sad, failed marrages, and now he`s relocated to this area to be nearer to his grown sons and Grandchild. He is a brick layer, nice looking, got all his TEETH... but he has longish blond hair, so we`re gonna have to put that into a pony tail or something.. other than that I think he`ll clean up good.< So the next hurdle is Monday night rehearsal with him.. see if he likes US, and we`ll get to hear how he plays my songs. Phyl; you never mentioned about the night at the Marine Concert... was it great? Did you win a prize today with yur golf cart decorations??? Janet; Saturday night, you must be out with a GF having a fun night. Karla; How is little SIMON tonight, still healing? I`ll bet the other 2 doggies are glad to see him again... maybe they will help him feel more comfortable -

Hi Girls; sorry I;ve been MIA... Clinic Xmas party last night, too much bread and wine... here`s the tally< CALORIES/CARBS$FAT/PROTEIN1,693/117/51/104 they were SO late getting us our dinners, we ate the bread basket!!! Had 2 glsswes of wine... but I counted EVERYTHING... no dessert.... I know its WAY too high, but I am cutting back on cals today to make up for it. Had to work at the clinic this a.m. 7:30 - 1 p.m... yup that`s right Janet, I got up at 6:45 .... omgosh that is SO EARLY for me LOL but its nice when its over and you still have 1/2 your day... free... Peter is laying on the couch SICK, poor guy shoveled snow all morning!!! This was the stuff that fell 3 days ago, but decided to DROP off the steel roof in the middle of the night.... Oh my gosh.... such a pile to dig thru, ank, and it was all compacted too... poor guy... I won`t bitch at him today :-) Then tonight, Mark (guitar ) player is coming over... I didn`t invite him, Peter did while I was OUT last night... kinda miffed about that, as I wanted to meet the guy FIRST on Nuetral ground, like in a coffee shop or something... not bring him directly into our home... So if you dont`hear from me tomorrow.... we could hav e been AXED to DEATH by a stranger!!! Karla; Little SIMON will be scared for quite a while, can you just imaging his fear!!! Poor little guy, give him a HUG from us.... he is so cute. Vet charged $300 that was fabulous, I am sure it would have been DOUBLE that here at our Vet... so glad you have someone reasonable. Part of him got eaten...???? ewweee Phyl; You Golf cart looks wonderful... I am sure you`ll get a prize for that... You and Earl did a great job..... YUP that Purple Hat QUEEN needs a reality check!!! Janet: A nice Sat for you off!! I bet its been a week to forget!!! coming back to all that work... Ah.... 2 days of naps coming up!!! so glad that Simon is out of the woods... and no broken anything... thats a blessing, and a $$$$ savings too. Gosh I know how expensive Vets can be. You`ll do o.k. with the protien shake, that was a good choice.. Nice to get out of the house eh? Huh, I know what THAT feels like. Glad that Elysse`s boyfriend cryed... wow... he has a heart at least!! Janet: yup, I have been measuring my food, plus I always eat on a bread/butter plate... SMALL so you can`t fit anymore onto it anyways... when I ate that steak at lunch I couldn`t even finish the mashed potatoes. Dinner tonight was roast chicken(it was so nice and moist didn`t even make gravy. Had 1/3 cup stove top stuffing, 1/3 cup scalloped potatoes - 3 oz chicken breast meat and ONE HONKING GLASS of WINE... OMGosh I was such a bitch tonight.... FLOYD came over (piano) he is a very nice man... but it sounds SO different than the guitar.... I hated it at first... he plays TOO Loud and PLAYS over my voice.... argh.... so I had to CRANK up my volume... I think he got the hint... I was not enjoying myself... so when we broke for dinner I GULPED down my wine.... ah... that felt better... Peter says >``òh you are just nervous!!!```FUCK OFF... ooooh I could have smacked him tonight Phyl, you are busy busy today... all your clubs, dinners, music events... let us know how it went HUGS CX -

Oh Karla, I am so sorry for Elysse, she must be just frantic without SIMON....There are GOOD people out there in this world, I am SURE one of them picked him up and are keeping him warm until they contact the SPCA shelter. Didn`t get to Quilt group, I started out on the highway, and chickened out... really thick snowpack and ice on the roads, sides are higher than the mailboxes... so I said Flick it, I am going home where its warm... stopped and got my nails done though.. so thats a pick me up. Rehearsal is on for tonight, if piano player dosn`t cancel... wouldn`t blame him though... yucky driving at night. Janet; you don`t have to worry about looking like Nanook of the North... cause everybody else ALREADY DOES.... you`d fit right in LOL.... Was holding Bridget oon my lap last night and she got fidgetey... made a wild twist and jump and smacked me in the RIGHT eye/cheek bone area... starting to swell... little brat! -

Phyl, great long post... I love it! Yup it stopped snowing last night!!! YEAH, now the temperature has dropped 15 degrees so now its «too cold to snow... so that will give us a break for a few days. Your Buffalo family is probably still very busy clearing snow. Peter woke up this a,m with a sore throat and sniffles... uh,oh...that won`t be good. Got to drive to the QUILT store today, its block of the month day, well acytually yesterday, but they changed it... then gotta go get my nails done. Wow, that red hat lunch sounds like quite the event... Happy Picture taking, you`ll have a blast. and the Marine choir tonight! I`d LOVE to hear that... I bet they are awesome. Zoey is one of the smartlest little dogs I`ve met... she is a treasure !!! Janet: Don`t worrry about clothes, I`d borrow some stuff for you to wear while you were here... no worries... I`d pick you up at the Airport and DRESS you!! You`d like cross country skiiing. Its just like walking, but you have a GLIDE after your step... so its really cool.... and a beautiful way to see the woods in the winter... Its NOT like downhill skkiing at all. Or we could just Snowshoe.... that`s really easy... but more exercise than walking plus there is too much snow to walk anywys, cause you`d just sink! Karla; sorry I didn`t skype last night, there was actually a great movie on... with Linda Hamilton... SIlent night.. she was a german lady during ww2 that had American and German soldiers in her house for an overnight... and she made them put down their weapons and they all had dinner... it was really GOOD. gotta run now ck backt later -

ha,ha,ha... ah Janet, I`ll get you to come up for Christmas sometime... short exposure to the snow .... and we`ll go Snow Tubing down the mountain or Cross country skiing.. YOU`d love that. Just came back from a walk to get the mail, with Bridget and Peter... got all the way over there (1/2 mile) and no one had plowed that street, so the Mailman did not come... oh well, it was a good excuse to get some exercise and fresh air.. tired of being hold up in the house... its looking pretty now! Gotta run, Peter made dinner (?) oh lord help me!!! -

Had a quick note from Linda :::``Give them all my love! Lots to do here. Sorry I can't be a better friend.`` Karla; glad your appt is over with . Sorry it caused you pain. and speaking of pain... THe surgeon is a PAIN in the ASS... his bed side manner and professionalism need some serious work. Glad you DD was with you.. but how embarrassing not to be given a gown prior to examination. How quickly can I arrange for an operation? First, you must have an examination at our hospital or submit a completed medical questionnaire for review by one of our surgeons. Admission dates are scheduled as conveniently as possible and we will make every effort to accommodate your preferred admission date. Please keep in mind that your admission will depend on the space we have available and on specific medical criteria, such as your general health, your weight and the status of your hernia. Do I have a hernia? Pain and swelling in the groin can have many different causes. A hernia can sometimes be quite difficult to identify and diagnose. In fact, over 1,000 patients a year come to Shouldice, convinced that they have a hernia when they really have a groin strain. If you think you have a hernia, come to our walk-in clinic for an examination by one of our hernia specialists. They have the experience and expertise to give you a proper diagnosis and may even be able to help you avoid an unnecessary operation.[*]Do you treat all types of hernias at Shouldice? At Shouldice Hospital, we specialize exclusively in external abdominal wall hernias. We are experts at treating the following types of hernias: indirect and direct inguinal hernias recurrent hernias femoral hernias epigastric hernias (sometimes known as ventral hernias) incisional hernias spigalian umbilical hernias Learn more about the hernias we treat at Shouldice However, there are several types of hernias that we do not repair. If you have one of the following hernias, contact your doctor for treatment or referral to an appropriate specialist: Hiatal or hiatus hernia In this type of hernia, the stomach bulges up into the chest through the hiatus. The hiatus is an opening where the esophagus (food pipe) passes through to connect the throat to the stomach. Parastomal hernia A parastomal hernia occurs when part of the intestine bulges through the abdominal muscles around a stoma. A stoma is an artificial opening in the abdomen, used to transfer waste products, such as feces or urine, to a small pouch outside the body. A stoma may be necessary for people with certain types of medical conditions, such as bowel cancer, Crohn’s disease or kidney disease. Herniated disc The bones in the spine are cushioned by soft, spongy discs. When one of these discs is damaged, some of the soft, inner material may bulge out, causing back pain and irritation. This is known as a herniated or ruptured disc. Flank or lumbar hernia This type of hernia is fairly rare and usually develops after an operation or injury to the side of the abdominal wall. It usually causes pain in the low back and leg. Sports Hernia This condition, known also as Gilmore’s Groin, is not actually a hernia, but more of a severe groin strain and can be treated with therapeutic management. It may not require surgery. [*]Why do I have to stay at Shouldice for a few days after my surgery? The patient-centred recovery program at Shouldice has been specially designed to promote healing in hernia patients. You should plan to stay at Shouldice for about 3 nights after surgery to take part in this program. During your recovery, our nurses will provide the specialized care you need to avoid any post-surgical complications. Most complications develop in the first 48 hours after surgery and a short hospital stay alleviates any concerns or anxiety for patients and their families. You will also get the rest, nutrition and exercise necessary for healthy healing. More importantly, you’ll enjoy a confident recovery with a rapid return to normal activities. You’ll meet other patients who have been through the operation already and are happy to reassure you and answer your questions. Peer-to-peer mentoring is important because it relieves stress and promotes a positive attitude to recovery. We have found that this unique approach to post-operative treatment is the best way to prepare patients for a quick return to a normal lifestyle.[*]Can my spouse or partner stay at the hospital? Your spouse or partner cannot stay at the hospital but we will provide a list of local hotels and bed and breakfasts for you.[*]Can I bring my motorhome? Yes, but we do not have any hookups.[*]How much does the operation cost? For registered Ontario patients, medical and surgical fees are covered by OHIP. For other insured Canadians, except PEI residents, fees are partially covered by inter-provincial insurance plans. Most private insurance plans will pay for the semi-private accommodations at Shouldice. Shouldice has agreements with US insurers to help our American patients. International patients pay by credit card, bank note, cash or certified cheque and then receive paper work from us to secure reimbursement from their insurance provider, where available. Janet; you are so cute about your dogs. I`d do the same thing, drive out and come back it to exit... Bridget is so funny this afternoon. SUN finally came out and now its really pretty out there. Peter is shoveling for the 3rd time today! OMGosh Phyl; You are so lucky to be getting together with Janet for dinner this weekend... sounds like it will be fun.. How long a drive is it? -

I really want to stop bitching about this site, the pop ups are killing me, I can't seem to get the multipost thing towork.. UNCLE.. I GIVE UP Karla, glad you are o.k. I just tryed phoning you... don't know if you got that on your cell or not? do I have the right number? Nice that you had some quality time with DD, you needed that. It was my DD 32nd bday yesterday.. I sent her soome floweres, and THEY haven't arrived... so pissed about that! some surprise eh? The bears, too funny.... where I live is a pretty built up area, so I think the BEARS have been gone for a long long time around here. BUt up north, oh yeah... you can still see lots.... sometimes they wander into the downtown streets, if its been a hard spring and there are no berries around for them to eat... or at the local dump you can always see them there... just BLACK bears, no Grissleys, they are all out West in ALberta or British Columbia... they are HUGE!!! So I completely lost my last post... it was all about my bitching about all the CANDY at wALMART. I just had to get out of the house last evening... so I went to Walmart, the bank by buy Euro's for my trip., and to pick up Rx... the snow had stopped falling for a couple of hours last evening so it was kinda nice.... roads were cleared, so not too dangerous. Then, woke up this a,m. to anothe 18": of snow!!! so now there has fallen in the last 3 days 90cm's that's over 3o inches of snow!!!! and it is still falling.... now pleasantly enough, there is NO wind today... flakes are falling straight down.. so that is better for the drivers on the roads... ploughs are having a hard time keeping up ... People are told - just stay home if you don't HAVE to go out... lots of folks are off work, schools are all closed.... oh my! It is falling now at the rate of 2" per hour, so we are going to get a LOT more before this stops... I know, you are probably saying. ||SUCK IT UP CANDICE, you live in CANADA for Cryps sake!!!! Ya but this is more snow than we usually see over the ENTIRE winter season... all dumped in 3 days. BUt the blessing is that we have HYDRO, some places if the snow is so heavy on the hydro wires it just snapes. and BLACKOUT.... but we're o.k. for now. I'll try and take some pictures. Tryed skyping Linda, no luck -

Gosh this site is making me mad..... multi, did not work again, but on the positive side I AM getting email notifications in my hotmail inbox!!! yeah for that! Yup still getting snow Phyl, 3 foot drift just outside the door.... Peter took care of it... I am lucky!!!! Bridget has taken to peeing 2 feet from the back door, on the DECK.... only goes down the stairs to poop.... and I`ll bet she shortens that route soon too! LOL Phyl, that skin rash sounds nasty.... is it yeast? sounds like the areas that its in is YEAST friendly... man we do have issues with skin huh? I never had this much trouble until after menopause... do you think lack of estrogen has anything to do with it? Waiting by the phone today for Mark (guitar player) to call... see if we can tee up some kind of a meeting... I may sound nuts, but I am leery about inviting someone who I`ve never met into my home..... how do you ask someone IF they`ve ever been in trouble with the law? What is his alcohol consumption like? Does he DRINK before a gig? I know, I`ve just got to suck it up and ASK!!! or I`ll not be able to relax. Any suggestions would be appreciated.... seriously.. We are going ahead and rehearsing with another musician(piano) tomorrow night... Peter has already met him several times and this guy is a MUSIC teacher at the school on the military base here.... so he`s CLEAR!!! Karla, I`m gonna skype you ok..... turn yourself ON -

You could have a couple "snow days" off!!! It is DEEP... oh my gosh, didn't go out all day. Still waiting to hear from the guitar player.... he wa s emailing me all day, gave him my phone # and now I've heard nothing!!!! Maybe, I'm not cut out for this SINGING stuff... so much hassle. Janet, you were right about JOHN (the guy you met last year) he is a Know-it-all... think that's what the problem was, I didn't always agree COMPLETEly with his suggestions, I think he likes to have the LAST word.. kinda a Svengalli complex... don't need the drama and I won't be walked all over. God, I have to get out of the house tomorrow... feeling shut in already... auck! and its only the beginning of DEC>>>> I got out my PLANE tickets for March today, just looked at them, felt them... ahhhh I can hardly wait...!!! Well was supposed to rehearse with the New keyboard guy last night, but because of the storm... we had to cancel it.... Now I am looking at another guy (guitarist) who emailed me from Kijiji... he is local, plays nicely ( i heard his stuff on utube) but he kinda looks a bit sketchy... long -ish hair, kinda unkept... but I was thinkging I;d like to meet him for a coffee anyways to see him in person before I invite him over to play... Don`t want a complete stranger coming to my house right off the bat ya know? You here of all kinds of weird shit on Kijiji and Craigs list... First of all, JANET WE ARE GLAD you are back!!! Karla, a bear? in WASAGA BEACH? no, but that was funny.... we don`t have any bears around these here parts! We have LOTS of deer, skunks, squirrels.... but no bear or moose... Moose live WAY up north from me... about 3-4 hour drive up north. We woke up today to a FOOT of snow! It was falling all day yesterday, and today, well I am sure LOTS of people stayed home from work. THe snowfall itself is not the problem, as we have awesome truck crews to clear the roads FAST,,,, but its when is comes along WITH wind!!! You desert rats know about the wind eh? well its been blowing 30 mile/hour winds with the snow sqawls so that is the danger... you get WHITE OUTS from the wind... Phyl, you musta heard froom your sisters in Buffalo... it got dumped on too.. worse than us I hear. So I feel like singing Christmas songs now!!! LOL what else is there to do??? Pewter is out shoveling/snow bloowing and Bridget is helping him... I know this cause I can hear her barking her face off outside... she hates the shovel, tries to attach it... SILLY girl, if daddy didn`t shovel paths for her in the backyard she`d be way up past her hiney to pee and poop ( TMI) so she has these trenches to run in... plus she HOPS in the snow to get from place to place.. it is so damn cute!!! wish I had a video Phyl, so to make sure I get this... You wanted to buy a PARK model trailer down there? but EARL thought too much money?B would you then have sold your Aclass??? and just driven back and forth from Seattle to Palm Dessert? Stayed in my jammies all day yesyt. still in ythem now!! its NOON I should be SO assamed. LOL Karla, its o.k. not TMI after youve had surgery... I am glad you pooped too!!!!! Hope it didn`t hurt to much... yikes... now I`m TMI:o Janet; can`t wait to see the picutres... there`ll be great. So glad you had a fabulous vacation.. It must have felt so good toknow that you gave them all those NICE memories forever... You are a special La-La -

Morning Ladies! I know its just us 3 but hey WE ARE IMPORTANT!! O.k. small confession, yesterday, Sat. I did not eat well... during the daytime, Coffee ,coffee protien bar, fibre bar... then went to a movie with my GF... I had the smallest bag of popcorn WITH butter ( I considered it my supper) then once home I was craving PROTIEN (a good thing!) So I had some HUmmus and celery, celery was yucky so I switched to Crackers! THen ONE glass of wine... that`s it.. probably 1500 cals, and way too much FAT.... but I did not eat sugary junk... so that is GOOD.. o.k. went back to Sparkpeople and entered my food:1,465/130/85/fat53 protien Didn`t get on the scale this a.m. cause I didnt`sleep good (dah!!!) and I knew I`d be up with all the SALT that I had... so pushing the fluids today. Major Snow/Wind storm last night... Peter was away up north doing a gig in Sudbury (boo-foo-nowhere`s ville) and didn`t get home until 5 a.m. I woke up several times, hearing FUNNY noises... even Bridget woke up... So I grab my FISH BAT, that I keep under the bed and went all around the house, looking for the mysterious boogey-man.... of course there was none... the wind and my imagination got the better of me.. Then I lay in bed thinking, trying to get back tyo sleep... and I`m telling my self... ``Ok, now what kind of robber would go out to steal on thew worst night of the winter snow storm, he`d freeze his ass off... I am sure they only Break&enter in GOOD weather... anything else would just be stupid!!``` with that I was able to go back to sleep. Karla honey, I hope each day that you are feeling better and better... If eating is not of interest, at least get in a protien shake or 2 o.k.?? your body needs the protien to HEAL the TISSUES....
