Lindaa: Sorry to hear about your slimming after your protein shake! That is a horrible feeling. Perhaps you'll loosen up a bit today..and tommorow. Keep the fluids up you don't want to get dehydrated.

You guys are too funny!!! Ya I know I couldv'e had a Chicken wrap and they are good too, I DO choose them most times. Sometimes I add a yogurt to that too. I guess poor planning, being TIRED and I let my guard down... oh well... not today!! This a.m. I posted a new recipe on Sparkpeople. I made for breakfast Cheese/Cauliflower Breakfast Pie. 1/6th equals 189 cals. and 10 g protien... It was yummy and filling too! I've been logging all my food since my last fluro fill ( Monday past). I am going for a wee top up fill tomorrow in Toronto. Looks like good driving weather  1) I am just really nosey now... what is everybodies Marital status...??? 2) Does everyone live alone and cook for one?? 3) Who prepares family meals and who eats what they cook their family? 4) Or... do you prepare special meals just for your bandster self?

Just to let you know girls, I am getting email notifications of all the threads I post on... daily. Like Janet said, try checking below on the page to see what little boxes are ticked off. Well, I tested out my band restriction today... not a good idea but heh I worked a 13 1/2 hour day and I didn't bring enough "good quality" food with me so I stopped at McD's on the way home. 3/4 of the way into my 1/4 pounder I thought I was gonna die... golf ball... its been months since I felt THAT... So now I am drinking my cocoa and am feeling much better. All in all cals for the day were 1300 so I'm only 200 over my quota for the day... dumb, dumb, dumb... Must do better planning tomorrow for lunch!

So how is it differnet than looking up Weight Watchers web site, logging what you eat each meal & logging in your exercise??? Seems not to save me any aggrevation?

    TLBC Bandsters!

WOw, what a story. I can completely understand your frustration. If it were me I'd go for a fill again.. the band is there and healthy right... Go in for VERY small increments and take it up slowly... If 1cc made you constricted then try for a .75 fill, then the next one get .25 or even .10.. they can even do .05 fill these smaller bands are tricky huh? Best of luck

Hi, I have been banded since July, and am alittle stuck W/L wise. With the BB, do you have to ENTER all the food you eat? Or does it KNOW how many cals you have consumed??? (dah?) Also, when you expend energy does it intuitivly know that as well? or do you have to INPUT so many mins. of cardio at whatever intensity??

    A Plateau at 4 months ?? Help??

How are you doing today? Are you struggling with the food? When was your surg. and how much have you lost so far? I ate 2 eggs, 1 toast this a.m. and had no trouble... usually I a tight in the mornings, but not today. Am I losing my 1wks restriction already??? YIKES
  14. When talking of fills and the number we all need to find our sweet spot ... its important to POST what size band you are talking about. A person that has a 4 cc band may only need 2-3 fills, while others with the larger 10 cc band may take 5-6-7 or 8 to get to restriction... Our stomachs are all different thicknesses too... ie a patient with a 50 BMI stomach will need fewer fills to find restriction, while us lower BMI folks whose stomachs might have less fat around them may take more fills to get us to this restriction. Then as you lose more weight and are closer to your ideal wgt the band will loosen again and need tiny fills.

Plateau Busters - Part 1 Eat the Right Nutrients at the Right Times We hear it all the time--you changed your habits and lost weight steadily, but after awhile, that progress halted. You've been stuck at the same weight for days, weeks, or even months. There's nothing more frustrating than trying your best, feeling like you are doing everything right, yet not making any progress towards your weight loss or fitness goals. Before you inhale a bag of Cookies to console yourself, realize that weight loss takes work, and isn't always perfect. But, there are plenty of ways you can re-energize your program (and motivation) to bust through your weight loss plateau. But...what is a plateau anyway? If you've been exercising and cutting calories for several weeks, and you're no longer seeing the same results that you experienced in the beginning... A Plateau at 4 months ?? Help??

Good advise Doddie! I agree that plateaus really suck! And they can present eachof us with challenges... especially in the 'mind' department. As soon as I notice that I am platauing, I start with the negative head talk... which is a killer for me... I have to fight against the neg. voice and remain true to my GOALS, 1) Eat healthier 2) Excersise smartly(like Doddie suggested) 3) Be 'nice' to myself, practice positive self talk each day*mental excersise LOL 4) stick to my Bandsters rules of eating... If I continue to do all these things and make it my priority, the plateau is bound to break

Not too many posts today, so everyone must be bustling about doing errands. This is day 5 since my Fluro fill and I still have restriction. YEAH! Last night DH and I went out for dinner and I ordered FISH and Salad, well I could only eat 4 oz of my fish and about 4 bites of my salad... that was it! Now funnily enough, 3 hours later I could have eaten my salad then! Been tracking my cals and protien this week, staying under 1000 and feeling pretty good.

  21. Your advise has kept me from flippng out on more than one occassion.!! I had my fluro with a barium swallow last Monday and my band is FINE. The Doc. pushed another 2 cc's into my band. He attempted to withdraw all saline from my band and could not get it all... (just like you said in your prev. post) but the good news was that the Fluid that was in the syringe was CRYSTAL CLEAR... which means it is looking more favorable that I don't have a leak.... Also for others who may have to swallow barium, It dosn't taste bad, I liken it to minty toothpaste just kinda watered down a bit. Was not unpleasant at alll.... and I have a very well developed GAG reflex. No problems at all. The Barium also didn't set off any allergic reation either. This had been a worry to me as I am allergic to Iodine and I.V.P. dye. Good day everyone!

No I think it will be o.k. if I have to have revision surg. Its' covered by my original Surgeon at TLBC... I paid $16,000 and if I have a leak due to band failure then its THEIR problem not mine. I feel that they will look after me for sure. No worries there, I just don't want to have another proc. if I can avoid it.. eh.?

    TLBC Bandsters!

Thanks Carla! I'm keeping mine crossed too!!! This was a full day TWO and I am still restricted... I am just taking it a day-at-time Ate about 1100 cals today.. felt 'full' at my smaller meals... that's a good thing
  24. If you check the new W/L clinic for banding in Sarnia On. , it also does P/S... they do list Dr. Joffe as their LB surgeon. I do not have any inform about who the surg. are at CIBO.(Toronto) But that being said, I think Dr. J is up on review because of his NON surgical actions... I have never read anything stating that he was not a top notch surgeon. JMO
  25. Hey Happy New Year to you too!! I first heard of the new lapband clinic on the TV, then I also heard about it on the radio too. hummmm????
