Hi there it sounds like you take a lot of meds for depression, so do I.. What I did was order one in Liquid, the other is a capsule so I open it and sprikle it on my food(oatmeal hides it well) and sometimes pills can be crushed too. So you might want to try that. I am not able to NOT take my meds, too risky for a relapse for me... Best of luck!!!

Well I am back from T.O. getting my (hopefully) last fill under fluro. My Doc put in 1/2 cc... then 1 hour later the pain was intolerable and I was part way home on a 2 1/2 hour drive!!! I called my surg. and he said to meet him at his office for a tiny de-fill. 1/4 cc out and I was fine again. Wow, the pain was horrible.. Never been STUCK on Water and spit before. Anyway, this a.m. is good, ate oatmeal and it went down and stayed fine. no pain... YEAH Have a great day everyone p.s. Stephanie, you didn't sound bad about your teaching job... we all have to let off steam... Just hang in there!! (((hugs)))

Take a bra that you already own, if it puts the "girls" into the right possiton LOL Then CUT the straps that attach at the BACK... Tie them behind your neck HAULTER style.... your halter dress neckline at the back will hide them... and you didnt have to spend any money!@!!!! hee,hee... I've tried this trick and it works great.. Enjoy your holiday!

    TLBC Bandsters!

Green: Oh darling, I am so sorry to hear about your vocal cord. You wont' have to wait long, Monday will come soon o.k.! I'll keep positive thoughts and say prayers for you. After you have this tumor removed we must all gather for lunch and you can YAK your face off and catch up on all the talking that you've been missing o.k.... I promise to come and bring all my cach of dirty jokes....!! To cheer your recovery. :smile2: (((((hugs)))) Rose: Lack of resolve, motivation... oh my you could have been talking for me there... I have some restriction, but am eating JUNK. Perhaps there is something we can all do for our particular challenge Visualization: "Look at the back of your hands, right now. Really look at the back of your hands: the color of your skin, the freckles, the blood vessels, the rings, the fingernails. Take in all the details. Right before your eyes, see those hands, your fingers wrapping around the steering wheel of your brand new car." (excerpt from The Secret) For myself, I am going to visualize myself, thinner and excersising more... I must see myself eating healthier chices, tasting the fruit and its sweetness, enjoying the sensation of Steak in my mouth tiny pieces of course and the savoury taste that accompanies it. The mild soft sweetness of fresh fish, lightly sauteed in olive oil, and crisp steamed veggies... ummm Brussel sprouts, gr beans, carrots... Oh and I can smell ratatoille, eggplant and chicken simmered with onions and some tomatoes.... O.k. now for breakfast... I like steel cut oats, with raisins, chopped walnuts for healthy omegas... topped with sugar free syrop and skim milk... think I'll go and do some cooking now.... Visualize Health, Happiness & have a great day

What does the prfect fill feel like?

It sounds like you are just starting out on the 'fill' regime... sometimes its 3-4 fills to reach your "sweet spot" (proper restriction) and sometimes if you don't have much FAT around your stomach then it takes many more fills... Currently I have 10.3 cc's in my band... and hav ebeen getting regular fills (every 2 -3 wks) since July... I am still not quite there yet... perhaps this next fill on Mar 3rd?? Good luck, and keep posting and reading For every bandster there is a new journey, we are all unique.

    Mexico for a Canadian

Just for the record.... I love all my bandster friends be they Canadian, American &/or Mexican travelled.... But going into this procedure, I think it is valuable for people to read ALL points of view... Nothing is meant to be scary, just EDUCATED... unles you know all the pros and cons concerning lapband you are letting someone make a life changing decision without all the facts. p.s. I do have my Toronto Surgeon's Cell phone no. in case of emergencies... He gave it to me the day of my procedure!

    Mexico for a Canadian

No one is Anti-American or Anti-Mexican... Posters are just posing considered opinions... out of genuine and CARING concern. Some of us are close to our banding clinics and have had complications... I for one can't imagine having to drive 8 hours into a foreign country or fly somewhere at great expense to have my issues dealt with. Convenience vs. price????

But you can cook the spaghetti squash and eat it over a couple of days.... or you can freeze the leftovers and use it at another time... we have learned to LOVE it at our house, in fact its the only Squash member that my DH will touch.

Hi Ruby; Have you tried CANESTEN cream?? It's an anti-fungal available over the counter... or anything for JOCK ITCH... don't laugh. It really helps clear up the crease rash as it is usually YEAST infection. Just my 2 cents:thumbup:

Hello everyone; I've been missing in action for a couple weeks. I was trying to catch up tonight on my 'reading' of our thread... I am so far behind... don't know If I'll catch up. But I did notice that Lynnette was here!!! YEAH! Although I am sorry to hear about your sons diagnosis... 4 Years old, I think that it is hopeful that you can address his concerns now rather than later. He may not need to be on meds forever. Take it one step at a time. Something you said about being a failure as a MOm and Dad... Honey that is just rubbish. I can tell by the way you speak of your son that YOU'd DO anything for him... This is in no way your fault... sometimes bad things happen to good people. Try and not be hard on yourself. My Mom has been very ill and in hospital for 2 wks. She is in Congestive Heart Failure and also had pneumonia... she is doing better tonight and they are talking of releasing her home Mon or Tues. she still needs to go back to hospital as an outpatient to get an Angiogram.. don't know when that will happen yet. Its been a stressfull "family' time as well, I am the primary care person for my Mom. My sister is in Mexico, by Dbrother is in Florida... and he and I don't always have the best relationship. I went for another fill today, I'm up to 10.3 cc's in a 10 cc band so I should be getting VERY tight now.... We'll see. Dr. insists that I have a 3rd fluro before he decides if I need surgery to replace band. What a long drawn out mess... I just want restricton like everyone else... and to lose some weight. I've been stuck in the 180's Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb... its driving me nuts. For Breakfast I had Egg McMuffin/Bacon, coffee, FILL, then Water, coffee, "1" choc chip cookie from Tim Hortons, Pro. shake, Pork Chop for supper and tea... thats it for me. Not the best menu day, but I felt restricted at least when I ate the pork chop... Night night eveyone!
  20. CIBO thanks for contacting us. The cost of the complete package is $18,000. That includes the pre-operative assessments and education, the surgery, the complete post-operative package (one-on-one visits, support, seminars etc.) and unlimited adjustments for life. There is no tax added to this amount and it is tax deductable. This is a privately funded procedure. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me. I know this can be a daunting consideration – I was in that position 7 years ago. I would be happy to talk to you, share my experience and answer your questions. They have their nerve, charging $2000 more than TLBC and SWLC

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

TWO OLD MEN DECIDE THEY ARE CLOSE TO THEIR LAST DAYS AND DECIDE TO HAVE A LAST NIGHT ON THE TOWN. AFTER A FEW DRINKS, THEY END UP AT THE LOCAL BROTHEL. THE MADAM TAKES ONE LOOK AT THE TWO OLD GEEZERS AND WHISPERS TO HER MANAGER, 'GO UP TO THE FIRST TWO BEDROOMS AND PUT AN INFLATED DOLL IN EACH BED. THESE TWO ARE SO OLD AND DRUNK, I'M NOT WASTING TWO OF MY GIRLS ON THEM. THEY WON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.' THE MANAGER DOES AS HE IS TOLD AND THE TWO OLD MEN GO UPSTAIRS AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR BUSINESS. >>> AS THEY ARE WALKING HOME THE FIRST MAN SAYS, 'YOU KNOW, I THINK MY GIRL WAS DEAD!' 'DEAD?' SAYS HIS FRIEND, 'WHY DO YOU SAY THAT? 'WELL, SHE NEVER MOVED OR MADE A SOUND ALL THE TIME I WAS LOVING HER.' >>> HIS FRIEND SAYS, 'COULD BE WORSE I THINK MINE WAS A WITCH.' 'A WITCH, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SAY THAT? 'WELL, I WAS MAKING LOVE TO HER, KISSING HER ON THE NECK AND I GAVE HER A LITTLE BITE, THEN SHE FARTED AND FLEW OUT THE WINDOW..., TAKIN MY TEETH WITH HER
  22. I have never had that "delayed" experience you speak of. When I get a fill, we have to go drink 500 ml bottle of water within 30 mins. or the fill nurse will NOT let us leave the clinic. Now we can only go for fills every 2 weeks(minimum) but if I have 10 cc band and my 1st fil is 5 cc's I felt restriction right away. It disapaits in a few weeks then I go back for 2 cc's then 1 cc etc.... until I reach a restriction consistantly that STAYS>>>> IMHO

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Sorry gang, I've been missing in action. Trying to read threads and catch up.... seems there are some newbies joining us.... WELCOME and Green!!!! You lurker you, I am glad you are posting here too. I am still anxiously awaiting your ENT appointment and am eager for the results. Hang in there girl!!! My Mom got admitted to hospital Monday past, breathing problems. She was diagnosed with Emphazema before Xmas, but now they say C.O.P.D. same damn difference to me! She is strugling for each breath, it really was rotten as I had the flu this past week(read previous threads) and I was not allowed to go see her until today. They have her in a adult diaper and noone is even trying to toilet her... really making me angry. There is no dignity in healthcare... its just easier I guess for the staff as there are Not enough nurses and Mom just isn't strong enough to use her walker yet and get to the liu. I am going back there tomorrow and hopefully get her up and outta bed... the longer she lays there the weaker she'll get (my thinking anyways) Ugh, I just had to get this off my chest.

Stephanie Re SUNLAMPS Its called LIGHT THERAPY, and it DOES work for Mild to Moderate Depression. But you have to get a very specific light. Northern Technologies makes one... You MUST sit under their lamp 30 mins each day at 6:30 or 7 a.m.... this intense light FALLS on your face, you don't stare into it... You can use the time to put on makeup, read a book, eat your oatmeal...whatever... but you have to let the light fall over your face at about 6 -10" away. You could NOT just sit under it all day at work, that would be too much exposure. It is a special flurescent and special strength for a specific purpose. Try googleing it if you are interested. My Psychiatric had Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) and he preferred the Light Box therapy to taking medications... there are no side effects as in pills. Personal note: I had a pretty good day, ate o.k. no pigging out on anything, and I still have restriction since my fill 9 days ago.... Yeah!!! No weight chg to report
