Weight lost on pre-op
pjackson0523 replied to pjackson0523's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hoping for a 15 lb loss as well. -
Starting pre-op diet today. AGAIN. Started last week only to get a call from doctor's office on Tuesday to tell me that my surgery had been put off another week. So, here I go again. Ready to start the 14 day countdown. I THINK!

I did finally make it all night for one night. I had to switch to a full mask because I couldn't sleep with my mouth closed. BUT, then last night, couldn't even go a full hour, mainly because of a constant cough I'm experiencing at the moment. Will just keep trying.

Time off for desk jobs?
pjackson0523 replied to aranders75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having surgery on a Monday and going back the following Monday. BUT, Ihave a very easy laid back office job. So, unless I pay someone too much on their paycheck or screw up paying some bills, I should hopefully be able to function. My job is very flexible. I only work M-TH from 8-3,but, if I need to leave early, I could. -
I got my machine on Tuesday but having a really hard time adjusting. Haven't made it all night yet.

anaesthesia problems
pjackson0523 replied to Rocsi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, too, have experienced this. I was having a c-section with my first child and felt absolutely EVERYTHING, from them cutting me open to them pulling her out. The tugging and jerking was awful. I've since had 4 surgeries andd this has never happened again. THANK GOD!.....I also heard them talking and playing music. I can only pray that this never does happen to me again. Although, it was scary and a little unnerving, I wasn't in pain. Nothing they were doing really hurt, i could just feel it. So, I guess I had enough of the anesthesia to deaden the pain but, I still felt the motions. So sorry you had to go through this. -
Tears of Frustration....

I'm so thankful that I haven't run into any doctor that hasn't been supportive of my decision. -

Wow. Perfect example of bad doctor's running up insurance costs. TURN HIM IN TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE MEDICAL BOARD! -
Do your cardiologist know that you had the surgery?

50 50 and wondering about skin issues
pjackson0523 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, just watched a video of a woman who originally started out at 296 and went down to 123. Her skin around her thighs and knees was horrible. Just curious if this is common. I know I'm gonna have skin issues. I'm 50 and been overweight for 25 years. So, unfortunately, I know it's coming. But, I want to know what YOUR story is with the skin and what you did to prevent it and if you actually did prevent it somewhat? -

I'm really not concerned about my tummy. I'm more concerned about my face and legs. The arms a little. But, the only person who will see my stomach is my husband.....lol
