How Many Days In The Hospital After Surgery
pjackson0523 replied to Bryan_G's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said it will be 1 night. Personally, I'd rather stay 2 just to be safe. -

Exactly what i didnt want to hear a week before my surgery
pjackson0523 replied to Bombs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i just looked it up and a leak with bypass is muuuuccchhh more serious than a leak with sleeve. Also, much more common. 1 to 3 percent leakage with bypass and it is the most serious complication there is. Educate him and make sure he knows it's not the same thing. -

I'd kill my husband. There's risk with everything. Bypass is a lot more riskier than the sleeve. -

no two week liquid pre op diet
pjackson0523 replied to lillingtonnc's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I actually had a meeting with my surgeon today (along with 4 other people) and he went over the surgery, the pre-op diet, the do's and don'ts. One woman said that she was having a hard time with the pre-op diet and he said that as long as she kept it low fat and low carb that was fine. He commented that it was really more important that the men be on the pre-op than women. Stated that because men carry most of the weight in their stomach the amount of fat is greater than in women. -
My Husband Must Be Crazy ...
pjackson0523 replied to 7 Bites_Jen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know the feeling. My husband isn't overweight AT ALL. Yet, he refuses to eat anything I can't have. I'm in pre-op right now, so he too, isn't really eating much. Last night his dinner was Ramen Noodles and boiled eggs. It aggravates me. I certainly don't want him to lose weight. One positive is our grocery bill will plummet. -
What pre op diet are you on or going to start?
pjackson0523 replied to deitress1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The Atkins shakes I don't like I freeze for a few hours and then eat as ice cream. They're very good that way. -
I'm doing really well. Usually have a boiled egg for breakfast, fruit cup before lunch, shake for lunch and then protein and green veg for dinner. I'm trying to stay really busy so I don't think about food. Really haven't been hungry at all and down 6 lbs since Saturday, so that's encouraging.

Hard boiled egg and fruit for breakfast. Protein Shake for lunch. 6 oz lean mean and green veg for dinner. -
It happens after having kids and being so active raising kids. But around 38-40 they come back with a vengeance. Turned 50 this year and still going strong........lol.

Just started my pre-op diet today and after all my meals, I'm still hungry!! Anyway, I found a broth by Swanson called Chicken Tortilla broth. It's amazing!!!! A little spicy, but, it's really good, especially if you like Chicken Tortilla Soup. Tastes very much like the Chicken Enchilada Soup at Chili's.

Looks freaking amazing. Where are you at on your journey?

Cold feet the day before!
pjackson0523 replied to Vertical's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date isn't until the 21st, but, I KNOW, I'm going to do the same. But, the bottom line is I really have to do this to get the best out of my future life. Being 50 has really made me realize that I want to live to the best of my ability and having this surgery will help me to achieve that. -
Oh my. That must've been a serious leak. So glad you're doing better.
-
Were you in the hospital for 5 months?!!
-
Why are we told to SIP the Water and drink slow? Does anyone know?
-
Wow. So sorry. Where did you have your surgery?
