    October Sleevers - Who else

I have slept on my side from day one. I don't have a clue if aI was strapped down or not. They gave me something in the holding room and I don't remember anything after that. I never remember seeing the operating room. I woke up in recovery about 4 hours later.
  3. Had surgery last Monday and just weighed. Down 10 lbs. woo hoo. With that being said, today is the first day I have felt hungry or ready to eat real food.

Cannot wait to try this....counting the weeks.

    Doubts: sleeve necessary?

The "sleeve" limits the amount you are able to eat. The better your diet the more you will lose.

    during my hospital stay

I kept my cell phone with me. You will be in hospital gown the entire time. I took pajamas with me to wear home.
  8. Oh, I can tell you, I'm definately NOT getting in my liquid or my protein. My days consist of beef broth, Protein shake that takes me all day to drink, tea, Water. I keep trying different things. One thing I did for first few days was i drained the broth from Campbells chicken Noodle and Vegetable Beef soup. At the time, it was soooo good.
  9. I was sleeved last Monday. The one thing I have learned is every person is different. I have a very low tolerance for pain. Yet, my pain has been very minimal and I have had absolutely no nausea. The only thing I have struggled with is gas pain and getting my liquids in. So far this morn, all I've had is about 8 oz of liquid.

    Anyone regret WLS and why?

Wow. That sounds absolutely horrific. Were you a diabetic and did that play a part in you not healing as you should? This is really the worse story I've heard, you definately suffered the most extreme issue.

    Anyone regret WLS and why?

Do you know what caused your leak and how did you know something was wrong?

    sick of not loosing

When i would have a stall (before surgery on different diets), I would intentionally eat bad for a day or two. I would add a few more carbs and then start again. It always worked. Bottom line is your body adjusts to what you are doing after a while.

    Gastric Sleeve 10-21-13

I also was sleeved on the 21st and actually went in to the office for 3 hours on Thursday. I'm going back full time on Monday as well. I think that getting up and moving will actually feel better than resting so much.

    Failure

1200 pre op is alot compared to most. How long does your preop last? I slipped on my preop diet as well and I told my surgeon, he laughed and said it was fine. It wasn't going to kill me or anything, just try to do the best that I could.

    Post op diet

I'm allowed artificial sweetner. What exactly are you having a hard time with? I have yet to be hungry and have to force myself to drink.
  16. I, too, was on the 21st. I haven't had any incision pain at all. All of my pain is from gas. However, today I woke up super sore in my tummy. Maybe I drank too much??? Not sure....Have yet to get in all of my liquids OR protein.
  17. I have a very low threshold for pain and I can honestly say that my pain has been very minimal thus far. I was sleeved on Monday. I haven't had ANY pain from incisions and the only pain I really feel is the gas pain. But, it's not awful. I have to admit that today isn't a very good day. I just feel really tired and weak. But, I think that is to be expected. So, anyway, good luck with your surgery and hopefully you will have a good experience as well.

    Hungry? Pre op

I've been watering down chicken noodle and vegetable beef soups, then straining. I find it really satisfying.
  19. After trying all these different protein shakes, I really couldn't find anything that I really liked. So, I made my own. Now as far as how much protein it has I have no idea, but, it's really good and I can get it down quiet easily. I used 8 oz almond milk, 2 scoops chocolate protein powder and 1 T peanut butter. I found it to be a little thick for 5 days out, so, I thinned it with water. But, its so good.

    Ok tmi but bowel movements

I am just the opposite. I've had touch of diarrhea since my surgery.

    Successful

    Holy Moly. You look great!

    terrible pain

So sorry you're having this issue. I am 5 days out and have had no pain in connection with the incisions. Mine is only gas pain. I do know that my anesthesiologist gave me a shot in the tummy while i was out that said it would keep my tummy numb for about 48 hours. It's way past that, and I still have no pain whatsoever.

DFW TX Surgeon selection? (Dallas / Ft. Worth)

I went through True Results in Richardson and used Dr. Marsden. I loved him. Very personal and made both me and my hubby comfortable in my decision. The thing I love most is if I have a prob i call him personally, no nurse or answering service.

Day One POST-op! Any others :)

I was sleeved on Monday also in Dallas. The cottonmouth was awful. My nurse gave me some swabs for that and also let me brush my teeth which was GREAT at that point.
