I WISH I'D KNOWN....

I've never heard of a heating pad helping with gas pain. Please explain. I'm assuming you're applying it to your back. -
Congrats.

How long does it normally take for insurance to approve the surgery after it has been submitted. I have Blue Cross.

Disappointing Dr.s Appt.
pjackson0523 replied to acampbell1318's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I cannot believe that in this day and age and technology, your doctor would not agree that obesity is a major problem. I think I would find a new doctor immediately. Becuase she's never gonna be supportive even after the procedure is done. Every ache and pain you have, she is going to blame on your surgery. Apparently, she doesn't understand that obesity is a disease just like alcohol and smoking. So sorry for your doctor's ignorance. -

Yes that sounds like me. I'm terrified of surgery mostly because i have sleep apnea. -
Wow, my stuff looks about like yours...started about the same time and now awaiting final approval from insurance as of last thursday.

That is why I chose the sleeve to begin with was because of the portion control and the hunger. The portion control is a biggie for me. I eat ALL the right things just too much of it.

Thanks. I think the surgical risks are scaring me a little. But, my sister had the lapband and she just hasn't lost all that much. I just think if I'm going to all the trouble of putting myself through this, a year later, I want to SEE the results.

Preparing for the sleeve
pjackson0523 replied to pjackson0523's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for all your encouragement -
After 20 years of ups and downs with my weight, I have finally decided to have the sleeve surgery. Today, I had to see the nutritionist and had a psych appointment as required by my insurance company. Tomorrow to the cardiologist and after I receive clearance, I'll be able to receive my surgery date hopefully. I'm 50 years old, 5'4, weigh 248 and SCARED TO DEATH. I have never, ever been successful at losing weight and I truly hope I'm doing the right thing.
