Attention!!! Any July 2005 Bandsters
hopefull replied to abrightfuture's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on July 22, 2005 and I am now down to 259. I am mostly in 18-20W size down from a high of 24, some 26-28W. Today I squeezed on a pair of size Liz Claiborne size 18 stretch capris.....I can zip and button and breathe standing up...sitting is a bit of a squeeze. I am going to wear these even though they are tight (I work at home or else I wouln't do this in public, although some women wear clothes this tight, just not me), because I need to remind myself to not pick...That is my issue. It is lots better but not as good as I would like it. I want to loose 10 lbs in the next 2 and a half weeks..I know that is a bit of a stretch but I do get a fill next week...am thinking of going on liquids for a bit longer. I need these capris for trip to California on the 7th of October. One or two PBs...one with french fries from MCD's and one from chx. Exercise program needs to be improved. ps...my band start weight was 292, I think -
As you will read, everyone is different. You are probablly retaining fluid, your body could by in shock...many different reasons. I tend to lose in 3-5 chunks 2 or 3 weeks apart. That is very frustrating. Be sure to drink, drink, drink. Do lots of walking. Get all your protein in too. Don't fret..you are very new to this as I still am. I am only 2 months banded on the 22 of September. Give this time because it is for the rest of your life...not the next two weeks. You will find lots of good posts on this board. Take each with a grain of salt remembering that each one of us has a different body that reacts differently.

Hi....I'm not from CT, but my DH works in E.Hartford. We are just barely thinking of moving down from MA. Can you tell me where the nice communities are. We have three children. One will be in college, one in 11th grade and the other is 8th grade. My DH says Blue Hills is nice (I think he said that), Glastonbury and I forget the others. Any help would be great. Also...good luck with your band. I have been banded almost 2 months now. I am at a very frustrating plateau. I am going for 2nd fill next week. Mostly I have been happy at results. I hope all goes well for you.

Although I am not and never was a frequent flier at McD's, I always pick at fries if my kids get them. The other day, I indulged in a small grasp of fries. I put 2 at a time in my mouth and chewed well. After the 3rd mouthful of 2 fries, I had the wrst pain in my chest and couldn't swallow my saliva. I think this was a form of PB. I didn't actually vomit or anything, but it hurt horribly. I proceeded to drink a sip of a vanilla shake thinking it would help...OMG...I thought I was having a heart attack. It brought tears to my eyes and a sense of panic. After 10 minutes of fretting and trying to remember to breath it did get better. Never again do I want to eat a few greasy fries and experience that again. McDonalds is a dead and buried issue for me! Has anyone else had this? I find it hard to believe a few fries would cause this. I can eat pretty much anything else. Weird but true.

I think cavenders is a greek spice blend...whats in it?

I love the refried bean bowl....I can usually get 2 lunches out of it. I get it every time I spend a day at the mall. Not often enough!!!

I had a fill on the 28th of August and since then (until a couple of days ago) I didn't really feel any more restriction than before. Just yesterday I had a quarter of a hamburger. Chewed well (I thought). Had terrible pain in chest for 15 minutes or so. Next day (today actually), I had 2 very small swedish meatballs and proceeded to get pain and then actually vomited a small amount. Mostly liquid. (I know, gross). Tonight, I ate a small piece of chx...I have been eating this chx because of its moistness...never had a problem before. I got that terrible pain and vomited again. Is is the band talking or maybe just intolerance to hamburger and (OH NO) chx. I think I chewed ok. I ate cantelope earlier with no problem. Refried beans go down fine. HMMMMM. What do you experienced bandsters think?

I was banded on July 22 and am down 34 lbs. I have had one fill at 6 weeks. I think I may need more as I still can eat more than I feel I should. Overall I am very pleased.

I have a pair of size 26 dress pants that have some stretch material in them. They are tan. Would anyone like them..I hate to throw them away. I wore them to church a couple of times. I also have a hot pink short sleeve dress top that is a 3x or size 22 or so. Also a strechy velveteen hunter green top...wore it with black pants at Christmas. It is a 3x...size 22-24. I would be glad to send them to anyone who wants them. Pretty soon all my 22s are going out the door to either the mailbox, goodwill or trash. I hit the clearance racks at DressBarn and bought 3 or 4 things, all size 20. They are a bit tight but I can put them over my hips and zip them. 10 lbs by early October and they should be fine. I running out of things!!! I love it.

Thanks Alex...I would be lost without this site. The many inspiring words have led me through this weight challenge and without your kindness it would not be possible. Thanks again.

I haven't have a pb either...I had a first fill last week. I am still able to eat low fat triscuits with seafood dip or cheese. I did feel an uncomfortable heavy, like I had been punched in the chest feeling after having perhaps too much chicken. Does a preemie PB feel like that????

Happy Birthday Penni....It's all been said, You deserve the best!! I wish you many, many more...

I have this syndrome also.... I usually have it when I am overtired. Usually a couple of Tylenol helps along with going to bed. Some nights though...ugh...it's terrible. I just fidgit all over the place. DH is usually very good about massaging my calfs. I'll be sure try a couple of your suggestions.

Congratulations to both of you. You have been a true inspiration to me. I am so happy for you. -
ok ok I'll stop complaining. I am just in such a hurry. I am also obsessed with the scale. I need to focus focus focus on the more important stuff such as feeling better, happier. iking myself better, enjoying compliments from DH, etc. Thanks for the kind reprimand and words of wisdom.

The Scale Is Not Moving Grrrrr.....
hopefull replied to mayflower419's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey "Flower.... I guess quite a few of us are complaining about the same thing!!! See the following post.. I am wondering about calories and the breakdown of such and weight loss. I was banded July 22. I have lost about 28 lbs plus 10 before for a total of 38 lbs or so. Great,.....not complaining about that. Probably due to 2 weeks of liquids. Since I went on food I have not lost a single thing. I am playing with the same 5 lbs, either up or down. It has been so damn muggy here I may have some fluid retention some days, but not really too bad. I logged my food onto fitday.com and I am in the 700 to 850 calories a day. Some time I wonder if my fat content is too high due to cheese. I drink all my water every day and do exercise to an exercise tape or do 1 hour of walking at varied speeds. I am so frustrated. I am getting a fill next week. Hopefully this helps. What is your calorie count for the day. I am following amounts of 3 oz meat..some fat free milk, etc... Would 2 tbs of regular cream cheese on 4 fat free triscuits sabotage my day.....Your thoughts <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________ -

Most days I am getting 60+grams of protein. I see the nutritionist next week and also get a fill. Perhaps she will have an idea of what needs to be done.

Hey Cindly....I think I probably need more veges and less cheese. I had been using low fat cheese but I'll switch to fat free(Yuck). I love cheese on chix, veges, peppers and onions, you name it. I have my first fill on Tuesday the 30th. I am looking forward to it because I really don't have any restriction. I do feel fuller quicker but not as quick as I'd like. I don't know. Robyn

Actually, I just updated my signature and I have lost 43 lbs in total. Maybe I just shouldn't complain at all. That is a lot. Maybe my body is in need of a rest. Hopefully my fill will give me a jump start. Perhaps I join the body pump gym. UGH

Finally got to posting a picture of me and hubby. I am currently at 265. Due for a 1st fill next week. Lost 2 sizes. Down to a tight size 20 womens.
