    Protein goals

    Dear une nouvelle I read your post that you get a lot of protein all day. Maybe you could tell me what you eat all day. I have not been able to master this so that I could lose weight. I am just staying the same. Thanks so much JewelJ
  2. I want to thank you all for posting, well wishes and SUPPORT. iT is very hard, and my Surgeon does know, and the NUT... Their are two NUT in the office. one told me to do 1000 cal a day. the other told me last visit to do 800 cal. It is so hard to fix for him, than do me... I like oatmeal in the morning.. So I do a surgar fee packet.. with a table spoon of Low Cal ,surgar fee Peanut Butter.. to add more Protein. I do start the day with 16oz of Water. 30min after Breakfast I try to get a nice cup of coffee. "its the only one I care about".. Than some errands, and if it is too late for lunch, I will do a Protein Bar, Or small 4oz cottage cheese with some raw carrots. than another Water... When dinner comes I make for everyone. So they all get dinner plate. I get a lunch plate, and I only take the meat.. AND SOME VEGGIES... i THAN WAIT TO do more Water. At 7pm i'm looking for something... I will make myself some coffee, and do a protein bar... or some yogurt, with Granola in it.. Adds more protein... If I'm having Lunch.. I will open a whole can of Tuna and eat it just plain, with Lo CAl Mayo... Might have some raw carrots.. Or sometimes for Lunch I will make a 1/2 sandwhich.. and eat an apple. I have never tried FITNESS PAL... BUT i WILL TRY IT.. MAYBE IT WILL HELP ME... i THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.. I'm still trying and pushing...JewelJ
  3. Dear friends, I have tried and tried.. but I still remain at the same weight loss that I was 8 weeks ago. I do care for a husband with Alzheimer's and i'm loaded with arthritis, so I do not go to a Gym.. So I did get some appts.. for Acupuncture.. which I find relaxing. and she is working on my arthritis pain so that I can move more. I will be signing up for Thi'chi.. which I could do 5yrs ago.. I thought I would try it again. I have started DRINKING 16oz of Water as soon as I rise in the AM... so i'm getting that in, but through the day I might not get enough. The scale moves like 3lbs up. than in two days it will read 2 1/2 lbs down. So i'm the same for the past 8 weeks.. I'm 61yrs old, and a care taker for my husband with Alzheimer's.. I have to do EVERYTHING in the house. He can't even make his own coffee, with a kerig pot pods... HE CAN'T work the remote control , or the flip phone that he has. His Decline is rapid.. and he is only 65yrs old... Someone GIVE me some IDEAS to work with. I did not let someone cut into my stomach for it not to work... PLEASE HELP!! JewelJ
  4. I am still struggling. I count Protein... try to get all the Water in. I have started ACUPUNCTURE for depression, and arthritis pain. hoping it will help me move more.. When I had Surgery I was 267lbs.. I'm now 249lbs. I thought for sure I would be down 30lbs by now. It is hard taking care of my husband with Alzheimers.. everything is my Job.. That is why I started the Acupuncture. I will next start Thi'chi. I did do it once 5yrs ago and loved it. I will keep pluging alone.. and try different things.     I would also say the AIR MATTRESS... Do that, you will be fine in 4 to 5 days.. you really don't need any care...It is a matter of "what you are putting in your month".... and walking slow, take naps.. and rest..take your pain med.. After 4 to 5 days.. you will feel better and return to where you live... You will be fine....Good Luck....JewelJ
  6. I would say you are doing GREAT..... I'm over two months out and have only lost about 18lbs.... It is so hard... I stated my Day with a Large shake today... It took me two hours of the morning to Drink it... but with 25grams of Protein powder...plus the protein in the Milk, It was a GOOD START to the Day... Good Luck my Friend.. JewelJ
  7. I am sorry you are having this problem too. I knew it was something I had to work on, but I thought in the beginning it would come off a little easier.... If it is this hard now, how will it be in 8 months or a year.. All I know is that I am getting protein in, to stop the hunger... and forcing the water...hoping to get it under control. I did not go through someone cutting me open to FAIL.... I got to work at it harder and put some time in for me to have time alone and with movement.. so I'm going to Tai' chi.... i HAVE done it before.. and it does make you feel good. I'm also starting ACUPUNCTURE in May. I checked and my Ins will cover it.. I see we are around the same weight? Only i'm taller than you... Please keep me posted , and I will for you as well.   9. Dear Tamosy, i THANK YOU for such kind words and Understanding... Where would I find your email? You have Great Ideas...... I woke up sick this morning with very bad Cough... Slept till 12 noon, Had some lemon Tea and Protein.. Now I have to shower, take college age son to a Dr visit, than return him to College in Pa... It will be a Late night..   10. Dear Gemma I too am having problems losing. Read my post that I wrote on "post op" forum. I decided to go back to soft foods and get the Protein and the Water in... Good Luck my friend.. We all have different things going on in our life.. it can't be the same for us all. I'm a caretaker to my husband with Alzheimer's... it is hard to care for him, and pay atten to me. But I must do it.... JewelJ
  11. Dear Sheldon, I want to thank you for such a BEAUTIFUL post to me. I felt your CARE and CONCERN all through it. I was thinking the same as you... Go back to the beginning....I think will will start tomorrow morn... It is Easter today and I made a POT ROAST in the pressure cooker for my Family. Husband and two Sons. At noon I had a tossed salad, and for some reason feeling so full from the salad I could not eat dinner with them.. So i'm just going to drink Water the rest of the evening. I seem to have a "bad cough"... but not feeling bad. It is very hard with all I have to do. I take care of the whole house, my son works.. and one is away at college. I pay the bills, set up appts. and med's.. Also i'm the only Driver in the house at this time. My older Son's car is in repair, so i'm driving him back and fourth to work. I'm looking into T'ai Chi to go once a week. I have done it before and loved it. I know it is important to have time to my self. My husband is SUNDOWNING now meaning he gets more confused as the day goes on. About twice a week he get's up in the middle of the night to shower and shave for a place he has to go two days later. So i'm up with him in the middle of the night trying to explain why everyone else is sleeping. So I can also feel the loss of sleep. My husband will prob in a VA nursing home in the next 12 months.. He has been approved already, but I would like to keep him home as long as I can. He served 34 years in the Military, and this is our retirement. It is very Sad. However no one knows more than me, that I have to take care of me, for me and him. I did not have someone CUT INTO MY STOMACH for nothing. I have to make this work. I have not been on in a long time, due to changing servers and computer problems.. but I will check in as often as I can for good ideas and to let you know how i'm doing. I thank you my friend.. JUST WANTED TO SHARE: I found a Protein Bar at Walmart called "LIFE CHOICE" It comes in 7gr 10 grams, and 15gr, and 21 grams of protein...the 21grams.. comes in "Peanut Butter Extreme".. and Double Choc".....both have low carbs, 15gr in one, 16grams in the Choc. the calories are 210 and 190. 5 bars for $3.88 GOOD DEAL...NOT sure if we can get them on the net....   13. i AM HAVING some Tummy trouble.... at least every other day I'm using TUMS. i DO HAVE a script for "purple pill" generic..but I hate the smell when opening the bottle so I do not take it as I should.... JewelJ
  14. LET ME SHARE WITH YOU ALL.... I did find a Protein BAR... in Walmart only. I had never seen it before. They are costly, and when the protein is high... the calories are high too. HOWEVER, this one is called LIFE CHOICE... they have several with 7 grams of protein, 10 grams of protein, 15 grams of protein. BUT they have two flavors that come with "21 grams of protein"..The two flavors are " Peanut Butter EXTREME" and "DOUBLE CHOCOLATE".. Now the peanut butter extreme, is 210 calories, total carbs 14gr. Protein 21gr. Now the Double chocolate, is 190 calories...total carb is 16grams...protein is 21gr. It says on the back that they make a Mealbar, a wellness bar, and energy also.. I'm thinking we can check on the computer to get a case from the company...if you like it. Walmart sells 5 bars in a box for $3.88 Which I thought was a GREAT PRICE.... any Meal Ideas... i'm all ears... Thanks JEWELJ
