Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....
longtimecoming7 replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Rants & Raves
Ouch. That hurt. I was not a casual smoker either! I'm talking 35 years, hard core smoking! I miss it. I kind of always suspected, though, that I would eat sweets JUST so I could follow it up with a cig! Logically, because I don't smoke now, I don't seek sweets! Weird -
Mom,mom, mommy,ma,mom! Tried them all, they are all ' just ok', get them online, Vitamin shoppe, walmart. Range in price 15.00-30.00 If I'd pick one, pure Protein, walmart, $19.00

Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

I'm terrified. I'm terrified that if this doesn't work, I will hurt someone and that someone will likely be my husband, so then I will be alone! See what I did there? I quit smoking in order to have this surgery. I think I spend more time missing cigs than I do missing food. I feel like a gave up EVERYTHING. I need a huge reward for being so amazing. I'm going to get that reward come hell or high water! Ps: I no longer have that time of the month! Maybe that's my reward! -

I'm going to tell you something, do not dispute this, you are scared. You're smart, articulate, and well liked, and you're terrified like the all of us. The dr. Was pleased at my 6 month and yours will be, too. Expectations vs. reality. Our heads tell us it should be more loss, but reality is we are right on track. Do not doubt it! My weight went up and down and sideways with no forward progress for OVER A MONTH. Talk about scared! But, it started to budge a little. When I asked the dr. If it's almost over, he laughed...and assured me that it is not!, Hold my hand, we will move forward. And if we fail, just remember this..... "You can ALWAYS get skinny, but ya can't get pretty..." Lucky us. -

Good Lord, lady. If you tell me these things, then I WANT these things. The weight loss is terribly slow! I had the 6 month check up yesterday and his scale weighed me MORE than mine at home! I was hoping mine was wrong, but to my benefit...ya know? I live in NY. The weather is turning now, maybe I should be out there walking...or something?! -

Rate of Loss. 6 Month Weight Loss Metrics For Info/Comparison

You are right. Sometimes people leave out the HW, SW,CW,GW indicators and it's misleading and/or confusing. I totally get counting the weight loss before surgery, we've earned it! But, if one is going to count that loss, they must also count that TIME. They may be 3 months post op, but the weight loss is actually beginning several months prior. It's disheartening when someone says they are 3 months post op and down 90 lbs. It's good to keep it all in perspective. Comparing drags us down. -

I want to know the magic number, too! I can't believe you have a hard time getting 800 cals in! I could easily double that. For example: By 3pm today I had already had Protein shake for b-fast Yogurt and a few almonds for a snack Protein Bar for lunch (this is NOT typical, I just couldn't stop for lunch today) So by 3 pm, I'd already consumed almost 700 and I still need to eat dinner I don't get it

Could you be thirsty rather than hungry? I notice that when I crave those super juicy fruits, it's usually because I Thirsty!

Regarding size, I was a size 10 once, for about 5 minutes. I've got me some child bearing hips and I can't imagine ever seeing single digit sizes. But, a girl can hope. I really don't see too much difference in size, which is weird, but I was probs shoving myself into pants I had no business wearing in the first place. I have a size 14 on right now, they are a bit loose, but not falling off. In a years time, I would expect to have all of this "head" stuff beaten, and accept my lithe new figure, it'll happen! Loose skin! On my upper, inner thighs. My neck is looking like my mothers neck. My arms are ok, FOR NOW. -
