OOps! I meant 4 weeks post!

I totally get it! I am just about 8 weeks post and when that "3 week stall" reared its ugly head, I actually laughed to myself and thought, "well, that was right on cue!". But, as the days (now week and a half) have passed.....not so funny. I didn't want to post anything either because of the many times it's been discussed!

I am not clear. Did you like it?

I am home now! 2 nights at the hospital. Not very restful,as they wake you at intervals through the night. Felt pretty cruddy on night one, as expected. Day/night 2 were not much better. But day 3 and only have the gas pain in my left shoulder. It's not incapacitating, just bothersome! I am not panicking over the amounts of anything that I ingest at this time. I just keep sipping. Speaking of sipping, I am on full liquids, so I decided to have one of the shakes that I purchased from the center. So, I'm sipping away and realize am doing this THRU A STRAW! These shakes came "juice box style". I didn't care, kept right on sipping. I didn't die. Well, going to sip on some beef broth now (sans straw)

I am new here! I didn't know where to begin with this whole process! I called the bariatric center 8/21 and asked them if I could just 'stop by' to get weighed and measured. I figured I needed to know how close I was to meeting the requirements for bc/bs il before I got all excited. They said to come right in! So, I did. I just made the 40 bmi ! They scheduled an appointment for me to meet the surgeon for 9/19. got home, called a recommended pcp and got appointment for the next next 8/22. They weighed and measured ( actually just asked for my height), gave me the ekg,and confirmed the bmi! So relieved! They gave me the orders for the lab work and I will go Monday 8/25 to have blood drawn. I am not sure what happens next, actually, but I will call the center to find out. Nutritionist? Psych eval? Whatever! The ball is rolling and I am hopeful that bcbsil is as good to me as they seem to have been with so many of you! Wow. I had more to say than I even knew. Pardon.

This is so dumb. I have quit smoking. I have been a smoker for about 30 yrs. whenever it comes up that I've quit, people say things like "it's about time" or "good for you!" Or "that's great!" (Here's the dumb part) I want people to do cartwheels! Do they not understand that that is HUGE? Well, I know they do, really I do, but I want the sky to open up and drop balloons and confetti... all over the place. And doves and unicorns, too
