sbarbiegirl replied to lagoveride's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow you are my inspiration. I was just sleeved today at 11:00 am. I've been up and Walking like crazy. I'm starting at 380 And hoping to lose 40 pounds by Thanksgiving. I was not sure if that was a realistic goal. You have given me hope that I can do it. I feel so great. No pain other than feeling like a pulled a muscle on my left side. I have had to ask the doctor are you sure you took my stomach out! Lol. Again thanks so much and good luck on your journey. -

Wow that is great!!! How long did you have to do pre op diet? I only ask because I started at 399 and my doctor had me do a 37 day pre op diet. I still have 10 days to go. I have lost 23 pounds. I hope I still have a huge weight loss like you after surgery. -

Lucky. I have to do 35 day liquid diet....thank God I only have 12 more days. -
I agree. I have searched and searched and can't find one bad review. After watching the YouTube video I knew I have found my doctor. My surgery with Dr. Alverez is scheduled for Sept 27.

Day 12 of liquid diet and almost killed someone at the movies last night
sbarbiegirl replied to melmel11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 12 of a 37 day liquid pre op diet. It's been hard at first. I did cheat about 7 days ago. But each day is getting easier. 37 days is a long time for a liquid diet. I cook for my family and don't even think about food anymore. -

Hey gamergirl thanks for that link to the blog. I getting nervous about going to Mexico and leaving the states.

Hi my surgery with DR A is September 27. I thought I too needed an EKG from seeing other post. I got all of my final paperwork and Susan says I do not need one. I think it might depend on your age. Someone else told me over 40 but I didn't hear that from Susan so I'm not sure. I am just starting my 30 day pre op liquid diet. I'm on day 5 already. It's hard but getting easier.

Ekg and blood work before going Mexico with Dr. Alverez
sbarbiegirl replied to sbarbiegirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I choose Dr Alverez because my insurance does not cover wls. So I am self pay. I did a lot of research and I feel like he is the one. I'm in Houston. So the drive is only 5 or 6 hours. No hassle with flights. I don't have an pcp. I never got to the doctor. But I just had a baby in 2012 and had tons of blood work. EKG and my heart checked out prior to giving birth. Due to high weight my obgym did all kinds of testing. I am very fortunate not to have diabetes or any known Heath conditions. I was just wondering If I would be required to do these testing before going to Mexico. I see that some people used the same doctor and had to have EKG faxed before going. Susan told me i did not need this. I would do an EKG and blood work before surgery. I think if you are over 40 it's required. Hopefully all goes well. I can't wait to start my new journey.
