I have not been on this page for some time, so I thought I would share my prgoress so far. I was up to 325 right before my surgery. I had surgery on February 19th. Recovery was very easy for me. I have lost 105 pounds since my surgery date. I have gone from a 44 inch waist to a 36 inch waist and from a 3XL shirt to a L or an XL depending on the brand. I feel wonderful. Running three times a week along with weight training. Another 15-20 pounds to go and I will be set. I wish I had done this years ago.

Tomorrow will be one month post op for me, the shortest month o the year! I had my bypass done on February 19th. I am absolutely amazed at how this has gone. I had very few issues, none other than some constipation. I was back at work 14 days after surgery. To date I have lost 45 pounds, including 15 during the pre-op diet. The only issue I have now is the taste of the Bariatric Advantage multi-vitamin and Iron supplements I purchased. So happy I took the step to have this done.

I had my bypass surgery on 02/19/14. During my two week pre-op diet I dropped 15 lbs. My surgery weight was 303. Two night hospital stay was OK. the only real issue was sleeping....I sleep on my stomach. I have had very little pain or discomfort. Other than some very minor gas pain Sunday, not much to speak of. scale said 295 this morning! Pleasantly surprised how this has gone so far....especially since this is just the beginning of a new lifestyle. On my way to a new me!

I slept on my side with a body pillow for about a week and a half. slowly made it back to my stomach after that. I am three weeks out today and sleep better than I have in years....on my stomach.

help...I can't poop
K9chita replied to hazeleyes8361's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going through the same thing. I have tried a mineral oil enema and a dulcolax suppository. No luck. -
In my case, that is incorrect. I had bypass, and had a drain.
-
My drain was removed right before departing from the hospital...talk about a STRANGE sensation. Feeling that thing come out was not painful, at all. But feeling that thing come through your body was WIERD!!!

K9chita posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's Monday evening and my procedure is Wednesday morning. Please let me know if there is anything you wish you had, while in the hospital. Tell me about your hospital stay...mine is scheduled to last until Friday...two nights total. How was your pain? Just nerves I guess. Thanks for anything you can provide... -

Thanks, Trevor. Looking at your profile, it says you're 100 lbs lost and surgery was in Spetember. That's fantastic! How much of that 100 is from your surgery date? My Surgery weight is going to be 305....down from 318 at the start of my two week pre-op diet. -
I am. February 19th is my surgery date as well. Looking forward to just having it behind me.

Officially on the losers bench!
K9chita replied to anmiller07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gas-X works on gas in your stomach. the pains are from what is put in to allow the doctor to work...the pain is that gas putting pressure on you diaphragm. -
I have been reading this online forum for months...since my first appointment. I have a surgery date of February 19th, as well as final insurance approval. So this is going to happen. This may sound like a crazy question, and I know everyone is different, but I have been told that a minimum of 64 ozs of fluids per day. Exactly how much are people drinking at a time. Are you able to swallow just tiny sips....I mean tiny sips. Are you able to slowly swallow an ounce at at time...like a shot glass full? This is my biggest fear next to dumping of course. Lack of fluids leads to dehydration, constipation, etc. Anything anyoen can provide would be fantastic. Thanks!
