Any Sleevers Out There With Pcos?
LMBTX replied to Pepper1382's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I have PCOS and was sleeved in August. It hasn't really made a difference in my symptoms yet, but I think it probably will when I am farther out. I feel like I am losing more slowly than some others and I don't know if it is due to PCOS or not. I also have hypothyroidism, so that could be contributing as well. I was worried before surgery that I wouldn't lose because of the PCOS and the hypothyroidism, but I am. -
Good Luck!

Did you ever find the cause of your headaches? I am out 12 weeks and have had a headache every day since surgery.

Good luck! I was the same way, but so happy I did it. You will be fine!

The weight loss king is officially frustrated!
LMBTX replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow! What a difference! You look great. I am just 5 weeks out, but have been stalled for 18 days! It is finally starting to move in the right direction. If you are eating so little and working out, it is bound to move sooner or later! -
Thanks J. Diesel!

Hi! I had a little mac and cheese and also some egg salad on soft crackers. Also had tuna salad. For dinner, I would eat some fish and refried beans with guacamole. Soft, but satisfying. Good luck and congratulations on your loss so far!

Congratulations on your great experience! I too had a lot of terrible gas pain for a few days, but it went away and I feel normal now. It will get better and better as you go along. I am 5 weeks out now and don't even feel like I had surgery at all. Good luck on your journey! -
Welcome!

Welcome. There is a lot of good information on here if you have any issues or questions! You are off to a great start! Congratulations! -
I have been stalled for 18 days......going up and down 1-2 pounds. Today the scale started moving down again!!! Was down 4 pounds from where I stalled. Hope this keeps going. I was getting worried, but now I am down 33 lbs. Had surgery 8/8/13. I didn't do anything different for the stall to end. It just started moving down again. I need to exercise more!!

I am 5 weeks out today and have not lost anything for almost 2 weeks. Finally it started moving this morning, so hope it will keep going. I lost 21 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery, then nothing and even going up a few. I think it is water weight and also starting on more solid foods. Good luck to everyone!!!

Sleeved 8-14-13 and lost, then gained, then lost, then gained 4 lbs. HELPPPPP

I did the same thing. My surgery was 8/8/13. Lost a lot the first 2 weeks, then stopped. Went up and down for 2 weeks and finally today it seems like it is headed down again. Check your measurements. Even though I wasn't losing pounds, I was losing inches. Drink your water.....it is hard, but helps flush out the fat and toxins in your body. -
Good Luck! With the time off and surgery!

August sleevers up dates. ..?
LMBTX replied to rossy222@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery 8/8/2013. Lost 9 lbs on pre-op diet and have lost 21 since surgery for a total of 30. Have stopped losing for about 10 days now and am getting nervous. Have been losing inches though. I am just now starting to exercise, so hopefully that will help get the scale going in the right direction. Feel hungry about every 2 hours, but some on this site say it could be acid, so I am going to try Prilosec to see if that stops it. Having headaches almost every day and still tired, but feel good in general. -
I had one that was fixed during surgery. Good luck!

Hi Tanya, I had the sleeve almost 5 weeks ago and am happy I did it. I was really worried about it being irreversible, but it is fine. My surgeon said he will not even do the band any more because he said it doesn't work. Also, I didn't have a drain or anything like that. in one day and out the next morning and back at work by day 5. Really didn't have much pain except for the gas pain for a few days, but once that was gone, I felt completely normal.....like I had never had surgery. Good luck in making your decision and on your journey!

Rescheduled 3 times! Pre-Op started yesterday - want to run away!
LMBTX replied to cmcrider's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I am almost 3 weeks post op and I felt the same way before surgery. I didn't want to do it and everyone else around me seemed a lot more excited for me than I was for myself. I couldn't get excited about having surgery that was not reversible and I was scared. I also went back and forth for several years thinking I could do it myself........especially if I had to be on a liquid diet for 2 months prior to surgery. I am not really sure what finally pushed me to have the surgery, but I did and I am happy I did it. The pre-op diet wasn't easy, but my Dr. said I could have some fruit and soups with a little bit of stuff in it and pudding, yogurt...etc., and I only had to do it for 6 days prior to surgery. Don't kill yourself with the pre-op diet. The surgery will be fine. Good luck with everything and let me know if you need to talk! I paid cash, so I had my surgery within about 10 days of my visit. I think that made it better, because I wouldn't have gone through with it if it had been a 6 month wait. -
Good Luck! I am almost 3 weeks post-op and have no regrets. I have thyroid issues for years and PCOS. I was worried about not losing weight with these issues even with surgery, but I am doing fine. I am down 29 lbs since Aug 2. Good luck with the baby! It is such a blessing and you will be healthier as a parent with the weight loss. I have seen some people post that their PCOS got MUCH better after surgery. I am hoping that is the case for me as well as you!!!
-
Best of luck to you! I am 2.5 weeks post surgery and have no regrets!
-
You should be fine. I am only 2.5 weeks out and feel good. You should be able to a few things by then

They told me I could have my surgery on Thursday and go back to work Monday, but I took a week off to make sure I felt ok. I did go into work for 6 hours Tuesday following Thursday surgery. If you can take the time, I would. -
