I am just a plain ole mom who has not only a family history of obesity, but a long family line of diseases & conditions that are attributed to obesity. Luckily as of yet I don't really have any major issues, a few minor ones. After a long discussion with a few friends & failing miserably on numerous diets. I have decided to seek out a more drastic step into getting my life back. I know that this is not a magic end all be all, I know this will take lots of hard work & probably lots of tears. lets face it, I have already been doing those already. I am doing the VSG surgery.
I have also have a hard time in pulling my self away from food, I seem to be a emotional eater. For the past few years my weight just keeps rising. This past New Years Eve, I decided this is the year I take my life back. In one month exactly it will be the first anniversary of my mom's passing. I helped her for a few years prior to this after she got Breast Cancer, & ultimately as a result of Radiation treatment she got Leukemia. She was the last parent I had left. I ate a lot... during this time. (My Dad passed away in 1998 after suffering from a MAJOR Stroke he held on for 13 years.) These are all my learning tools & now I need to make the best choices I can make.
Any way on top of my family misfortunes, I want to be able to enjoy family time & vacations with my kids, whether it something as simple as a hike, a swimming pool, going out to eat or the worst an amusement park. I'm sure everyone can empathize or relate. Now it's time to put one foot in front of the other & Carry On!
