Hey Dan! Our appointment went good. I got a small fill and my sister got a little bit removed. As soon as Dr. K found out she was getting sick everyday, he insisted on taking some out. Hey, taking pictures for the web site! That is so cool. You deserve it. You looked great before and after the band. Let me know when they post your picture and let me know the web site. Dan- Me and my sis are doing good. My sister has had two fills and I have had one. We are going to get another fill on Sept. 11th. Both of us have lost around 30 pounds. My sister has felt "a little" restriction with her 2nd fill. I haven't felt too much restriction. I'm definitely ready for another fill. I read that you had a fun nite with beer and crab...... I am so tempted to drink a beer. I'll take a couple of sips from my hubby's beer and it goes down fine. Did you have any trouble when you drank beer? Well, our appointments are a week apart. Maybe we will get on the same appointment schedule soon. Take care!

mjsafari, That's funny you brought that up. It's been 4 weeks since I got the band and everytime I bend over on my left side, it hurts. I can touch my toes on my right foot but can't on my left foot. I'm not in major pain but I am very uncomfortable and I plan to discuss it with my doctor at my next appt in August. Other than that, I am feeling pretty good. I haven't got a fill yet. Let me know what your doctor says on Monday! Stella

Dan: Tamara said me and my sis might get a fill in two weeks, not Dr. K. So we'll have to wait and see. I'll let you know. Do you have an appt on the 24th? If so, hopefully we'll see ya there. My appt is at 11:00. Keep up the GREAT work. All: I have seen Dan in person and he is doing great. He lost a lot of weight before the surgery and is still going strong. Hi Dan, Glad to see you at the doctor's office! Did you get to see Dr. K? Me and my sister were kind of disappointed because we only seen Tamera. She checked my cuts and told me to go on smushies. She was in a hurry and told me to check with my sister on what I could now eat. Mainly she told her to eat proteins and no carbs. No rice, pototoes, noodles, beans etc. And to chew 15-20 times. She also said we may be getting a fill in two weeks. Like others on this site, my appetite is gone. And after chewing the food so much it just doesn't taste as good as it use to. Just wondering if you are going through the same thing or are you eating OK. Take Care, Stella

Suzzzie, I love BBQ and yes I have been having cravings. Especially on the 4th of July. I used to live in KCMO. I kind of remember a good BBQ place off of Hwy 70, but I can't remember the name. It sure wasn't fancy but I remember it tasted good. (smoke stack??, smoke house??) I'm awful, I sit and watch the food channel ALL DAY. My family thinks I'm crazy but since the surgery I've cooked them a few "food channel" meals. They should be happy. Stella

cbm818, I'm still in the liquid stage right now and I feel the same way. The only things I can eat without feeling nauseous are jello and popsicles. I feel like everything has a funny taste to it. The only way I can drink water is if I am chewing SF gum. Even the broths that I was eating right after the surgery tastes funny now. I don't have any energy at all. I go to the doctor on Tuesday, I hope he has some answers! Let me know if you find a cure!!!! Stella

Dan, I had to be at the hospital at 9:30 am on Friday and my sister had to be there at 7:30 am. Dr. Krahn was already in surgery with a full gastric by-pass. Well, that surgery went longer than he expected at my sister went in for her surgery at around 4:00 pm and me around 7:00 pm. Dr. Krahn was not on call the day after the surgery so we had to wait for the on-call surgeon. We weren't released until 8:30 pm on Saturday. The nurses say that Dr. Krahn normally releases patients alot earlier. St. B's was great. The nurses were very nice and helpful. Boy, you're walking alot. I better step up!!! Stella

Thank you Faithmd. You're right. I did everything I was suppose to when I was pregnant. I was having a rough day yesterday but I feel much better today. Thanks for the advice!

Hi Dan, I talked to you in Dr. Krahn's office on Tuesday before our surgery's. You told me about this web site! Thanks, I've been getting alot of info from it! So, how are you doing? I'm just tired of the liquids but I am starting to feel much better. I have been walking around the house and plan to walk outside tonight with my daughter. My appt is at 2:00 so I doubt if we'll see each other. We can compare note on the website. Stella

Glinda, I was banded on Friday, 29th. I am on liquids for 2 weeks, then creamy/mushy for the following 2 weeks. I am already tired of broth and Jello. Sometimes, I fill like I'd rather not eat anything at all but my husband makes me! I guess I will just hang in there. My son is in baseball all-stars, Nacho's sound wonderful! Stella

I cleaned up my belly, thanks for the baby oil tip Faithmd, that really did the trick and didn't take much to get it off. I also trimmed the excess glue around one incision. I think my incsicions are doing well. They are tender to the touch, but no reddness or puffiness. Hi Danielle, Had my band surgery on Friday (29th). I don't have my first appt with my doctor until the 10th. When were you told to take off your bandages? I still have my bandages on. It's good to hear that you are on solid foods. I can't wait to eat mushy/creamy foods. I was told to stay on liquids for 2 weeks. Thanks for the help, Stella

Hi Sweety. I was banded on the 29th too! Me and my sister went in together. She had her surgery at 3:00 and I had mine at 7:00. We are both having the same pains and are eating the same types of food (broths, Jello, water). Well, hope you are doing good. Stay in touch so we can compare notes!
