Have fun at Phyl's and be sure to send my regards. Candace is probably buried alive up there in Canada. Heard on the news that Ontario has already gotten half last year's snowfall. Not sure if it is her, but they said it was just east and north of us here in Michigan. And they were expecting another 24 inches.:cool2: Can;'t say how grateful I am that it missed us. (I HATE WINTER, COLD AND SNOW) So, she is probably a block of ice with the weight she's lost. No more insulation for those cold snowy days and nights.:smile2:

Are you all hunkered down?? Stocked up? Ready for the cuddle alert? It's missing us. (no surprises for us in nine months)

Car............is jealousy allowed here? Gosh, you and DH had a great idea. Wished I had thought of something like that. Where in CO are you? One of my oldest friends, lives in Boulder. Have a great time on your holiday. Wish I could come along.

I was totally cheering when I saw that Karrie had posted. WELCOME BACK, KARRIE. Janet had some excellent suggestions. You know, I needed them too. I really have to agree with the one that says don't deprive yourself. That one will bite you in the a$$ if you do. Although, that is probably why I am at a plateau. But, I can say, while I may not be losing, I'm not gaining either. And, I am not unhappy where I am at.................well, not totally happy either..........so, I'm maintaining. If all else fails, PRAY, God is with you and I know I couldn't have accomplished what I have without him. Janet, You asked me the other day if I've pedaled around the world yet. Well, I don't know. I quit keeping track but I got out my calculator this morning and worked some figures. I figured that I've been pedaling for at least fourteen months........at least for an hour each day........it's somewhere around 17 miles per hour. So, the total mileage, (minimum) is 7650 miles. Anyone know what the circumfranse (sp) of earth is?? Okaym, gionna check back later. NOW, RUBY........IT'S YOUR TURN. WHERE ARE YOU????

I checked it out and it told me that for my age (58) and height (5'9") that my normal weight should be 192 pounds with a normal BMI of28.4. Couldn't find what my BMI is now. (of course, I'm number illiterate). Anyway, I got on the scale this morning and it moved. 169 lbs. Of course, I was at a friends tonight and she brought out the fudge....................it will probably move again tomorrow morning. (the wrong way) Janet - I'm here. I can always find something to talk about here, I just don't want to bore everyone. I do have a NSV though. DH bought me an amethyst necklace and ring a couple years ago. The necklace fit tight around my neck and forget the ring. I just left it sitting on the kitchen counter and there it sat till this morning when I finally decided to clear out that corner of the counter. I tried them on. The ring fits perfect, which is great cause I had to put my wedding rings back in the jar cause they were too big. And the necklace falls in the perfect place on my chest. I'm just tickled about all of that!! Phyl - Congrats on reaching almost to three digits. Great feeling isn't it? Loved the eat rocks and die. Tell that one to DH next time he starts counting YOUR calories. And, tell him to shut his computer off. The stock market will go back up. You just have to give it time. Tell him to CHILL. Anyway, he can always become a greeter at Wally world. Car - I know it's been mentioned here, but where are you from? I was hoping that you were somewhere close, but you mentioned the euro rate so I guess you are on the other side of the big pond. Steph - you know from the things I've been reading here, sounds like maybe it is you BP instead of BS. Oops, I mean blood sugar. Denise - Great to hear from you. Keep checking in often, just to let us know you are still alive and kicking. RUBY AND KARRIE - We want to know if you both are still alive and kicking. Nothing else if you don't ant to share, .........we can respect that. JUST SAY HI. Candace, - Had enough of that white stuff yet? Man, I am ready for summer already. Had to go out and buy a new jacket for this cold weather. Found one at Wally world for $15.00. I just love to find bargains. OK, Janet. Is this enough for you? I mean, everyone here is pretty chatty tonight. Three pages, in one day....OMG. Why doesn't this happen on week ends? At least, I can't stand to see anyone not post, so at least I check in and say HI. OKAY, ENOUGH OF THIS FOR NOW. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT EVENING. I'LL CHECK BACK IN SOMETIME TOMORROW.
  6. I was banded 7-07 and didn't get restriction till May of 08. Now, 15 months after surgery, I have lost a total of 122 pounds. You can do it......you can't expect the band to do it for you. Watch what you eat, drink your water and get your butt in gear. It will come off. You don't want to reach restriction too fast.you might have an overfill then and believe me, you don't want that.

Of course, with the economy the way it is, I can always look for a plastic surgeon who'll give me two for the price of one...........and get a face lift along with the tummy tuck, LOL

I have to agree with Janet about your goals. As she said, goals can change. When I started this process, My goal was 150 lbs. Weight in college. I mean, if I'm gonna do it, aim high. Well, what I didn't take into effect, is that I am almost 59 years old, and my skin isn't quite as elastic as it was at 18. Talk about sags and bags.........I've lost 120 lbs so far, weigh 171 and when I look in the mirror, this old lady keeps looking back at me. Bags, sags, lines, and wrinkles. So, I keep gaining and losing the same 3-5 pounds for the past month or so..and it's never in the same place. I keep seeing more and more wrinkles and saggy baggy skin. I'm beginning to rethink my goal weight as of right now, and getting rid of that excess belly skin should put me somewhere about wedding weight. 165. I'm afraid if I keep going to my original goal weight, my body will look fantastic in clothes (that goes without saying) but my face is going to look 10 years older. So now I have to figure out what my goals are to be now. I am now much healthier........no more high blood pressure meds, no more diabetes meds, no more electric carts in the grocery store, no more plus size stores, no more back pain, (just knee pain) no more depression, I'm loving life again and getting out and about. I'm active, sleep great with no more sleep apnea..............SO should I stay where I'm at, or should I aim higher?

Dozed off this afternoon, woke up, looked outside..................couldn't see one single blade of grass. CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY ! ! ! ! Yesterday, our church held a Buck Pole with free food all day. (opening day) Did pretty good. with the soup and chili, but it was those gooey brownies that messed me up. But, the scale stayed the same. Doing much better today. Fruit and cereal bar for breakfast, a bowl of chicken chili for lunch. And drank so much water, I feel like I am going to float away. Trying to get rid of that craving for something (don't know what) but....................... Well, gotta go check out the freezer and see what's for dinner. HAVE A GOOD DAY, CBL

Steph...........Please, please, please get that checked out ASAP. 'member when I wrote about being in the hospital for two months five years ago with Legionaires Disease? And almost died? Well, it started with low blood sugar. Same symptons and it got to the point that I had no strength to move and was semi-comotose when hubby got home that night. Now, I figure God gave me the low blood sugar thingy cause I needed to go to the hospital so they could diagnose me with LD. If it isn't caught early enough, Legionaire's disease is fatal. I had had a slight fever, but otherwise felt great so if not for the low sugar attack, I never would have gone to the doctor in time and I would be dead now. I don't want to scare you but it could be something signaling that something is wrong. Do I make sense?? Mommy Janet is going to get on your case too, so figure, we're gonna make your life miserable till you get to a doctor.

Good Afternoon, Ladies. I decided this morning, that I needed to get back to basics. So after I finished my pedaling, I got ready to go to the gym. I put on my favorite top from before banding. DH just laughed when he saw me bu hat is what I wore to work out in. I needed that reminder of how far I had come and hope that it will give me a kick in the butt to shape up.
  15. kAREN I see from your signature, that you were banded July, 2007. Come join us at Lucky Sevens, a group of women all banded in July of 2007. We've had a good time here on line and it is a great support group. COME JOIN US.
  16. Have you checked out the Lucky Seven thread? It is found under 2007 lapbands. There is a thread there called brag pics. Most of us are near or at goal and there are quite a few before and after pictures. If you make up your mind that you can do it, you will. I started this journey at almost 300 pounds. I now weigh 175 lbs. I didn't think I could do it alone and if my doctor had told me what yours did, I'd most likely be over 300 pounds today. A lot of exersize makes a big difference. The lapband isn't a magic fix like bypass is. The band is only a tool. Use it wisely and it will work for you just great. Do nothing and what your dr. says is probably close to the truth. GOOD LUCK
  17. Depends on where in Michigan you live. When I was looking for a fill doctor, I must have called at least 20 different drs in a 100 mile radius of my home. Most are not willing to do fills on people who have had their bands placed elsewhere. I go to Hillsdale Surgical in Hillsdale. Port Huron will do outside fills, as will one of the hospitals in Flint. Also, Kalamazoo has a doctor who will do them as does a doctor in Holland. You also might try Barix Clinic in Ypsi. They did do outside fills and then quit because their doctor left, but that was a year ago. Hope I was of some help. Good luck finding a doctor.

I agree here with Janet. I'm lost without LBT. I really don't think I could done it without these ladies. I am just so sorry I couldn't make the get-together last summer. I can't wait till next year. There is no way I'm gonna miss it. You ladies are family. You understand. Luv you guys. You are not the only closet pop tart lover here. Brown sugar and cinnamon............yummy, Before, I'd eat both that are in a packet, toasted, lots of butter.........(better stop now) Now, I'll eat the same kind. But only one...and not toasted.......and only for Breakfast (instead of as a snack) Maybe once a week.

Must be the moon, Stephanie. I got on the scale this morning and am down five more pounds to 170. (despite the Smarties) I still haven't decided what my goal is. I think I'll look haggard and old if I lose a whole lot more. Besides, the talking belly has to weigh about 10 pounds. SNOW?????????????? OMG ! ! ! It's been in the high sixties and low seventies here all week. I'm not looking forward to that cold stuff. My kids think thongs are comfy.......not me. Don't want no wedgie. I'd rather go without, like Janet. But then, who cares about panty lines. Everyone wears them. How do you get rid of bra lines? It's just a fact of life. Well, off to lunch CBL
  22. I forgot to add that he put .5 cc's in each month and was up to 10cc's before feeling any restriction. I am now at 9.5 cc. Watch what you eat and exersize, exersize, exersize. And you will see the scale move downward.
  23. Hi, I have a 10cc band and it took me about eleven months before I felt any restriction. My doctor told me I was doing great though, losing 8-10 lbs per month. (that was average). About three months after that fill, I had to go and have a slight unfill. Fifteen months after banding and 115 lbs gone.

You guys know me so well, it's scary. Yes, I'm lurking. I just don't have anything new to say.but since I'm here, I will say that it is a good thing that Halloween is tomorrow and I won't be bombarded by all those bags of candy in the stores. Of course, it will all be half off after tomorrow so I have to stay out of stores for a while. I am really struggling with head hunger the past few days.....and sneaking food. Can't let anyone see me eating. Even if it isn't junk and is low cal. And that sweet tooth?? It's killing me. CBL
