love those squares, Candice. I can't wait to see the finished product. I already told you that I love that fabric. I have a pattern for an instant bargello. Talk about easy. I put one together, a throw size in just a couple hours. Now, I gotta tell you about this catalog I got last week. It is called Hancock's of Paducah. OMG.... the fabrics are fantastic and each page of fabrics have one or two quilts made up with the pattern available. Webite is WWW.Hancocks-Paducah.com You'll have to check it out. This is my new wish book. We had our all-Church potluck pig roast today. I am really proud of how I did food wise. I had just a small helping of pork with bbq sauce on it. (it was so tender, it was like chewing gum). A little of my German potato salad. I used the chicken w/asiago and spinach sausage instead of bacon, onions and chicken broth and cider vinegar and hard boiled eggs. a spoon ful of cheesy potatoes and a small spoon of au gratin potatoes. I waited till the end to go up there so I didn't have a big selection to choose from. Had a bottle of water and for dessert, well, not so hot. then I hit the track around the large twsp. park and walked it. That's my day so far. Gonna have a little bit of chicken in a little while, also from the picnic. all grilled outside. I hope everyone had a great sunday. The weather here was beautiful...sunny and not too hot or not too cold. Just right. Karla - remind that when I finally get face to face with you ..to give you a swift kick in the behind. "won't go anywhere" Right. You don't know that. He might be "THE ONE". You've got to give it a chance without that defetist attitude or it will be over before it begins. Candice, you are doing so well. keep it up. I am proud of you. You are going to be one hot mommy of the bride. Then you can get Peter to take you on a second honeymoon. Have a good night all. talk to you tomorrow.........or I'll just lurk and check things out. Anyway, I'll be here. -

Good Evening, Ladies. Been lurking again, not posting,,,,,,,,WHY?? A lot of the same things that Linda is going through. So, Linda, I'm sending you HUGS, HUGS AND MORE HUGS. You can never get enough of them. I don't watch the National news anymore either, but then again DH has talk radio on all day, everyday. Laura, Rush, Sean.........ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I feel the same way about our government and leaders. Don't trust them but then again, there is nothing we can do. They are going to do what they want to do, no matter what. Yeah, that's enough to drive anyone to depression. Or to eat....,,, Enough.................talk with you all later. -

Now tell me....................how many pictures have you seen me post here? Karla - I posted on FB that you are gorgeous. Guess it must be those good german genes cause we both carry our weight the same way. E-mail old tuna guy and tell him you're sorry you aren't Barbie but then again, he ain't Ken either. LOL -

I am sitting here, just about ready to cry. I don't know what the matter with me is. I just..........I don't know. I'm not sleeping well but I seem to be busier than ever. Anyway, you guys make me want to cry cause you care so much. On a good note, though.........no soda today. I'm on my fifth bottle of water and no soda. Dang, got to stop about that. makes me want one. No No No. Not gonna drink one. Karla - My son has a house with an adjustable int. rate and I told him to call his mortgage co. but they won't do anything until he is in arrears and he won't do that. You might want to maybe open a bank account and make your house payments in it (just in case bqnk doesn't fall for it). Then, don't make the house payment to the mortgage co. Then you call them up and say HELP!! You know they don't want the house back. Then they should work with you on lowering the interest rate or whatever it is they do. Do a little research on the mortgage co and see if they are one of the ones who benefitted from our prez's bailout. If they are, I think they have to work with you. It's worth a try. Janet - I noticed your teeth right off the bat. Just didn't get on here to post first. They look really good. You'll get used to them real fast. Candice - sure glad I don't have that decision to make. Been there, done that. Sure, woody is getting old, but she looked like she still had a lot of life left in her. You'll know...........just don't rush it. It won't get any easier if you do it now or wait till you have to. I know with our dog, I just wanted to cry when I watched him but my daughter said no Mom. not yet. Finally when he spent the day sleeping and just peed on the floor where he was laying. She said "it's time." Anyway, You'll know. Phyll - great news about the knee. Won't be long now and there will be no stopping you. YOU GO GIRL!! I gotta go. be back tomorrow. Luv you guys. Rest good. -

Is that St. Louis, missouri............or st. louis, michigan. I believe St. Louis, Michigan is nothing but a blip on the map, but if it is Michigan I think I can find the time to come cheer you on. Thanks for all the support here, ladies. I could lie and tell you things food wise went great...........but I can't do that to you all. For bf, I had my one pop tart. Lunch,,,,,,,,,,,well, we had Mountain Movers today so lunch was a pepsi. (ouch, don't yell so loud, my ears hurt) Then we went shopping and didn't get home till almost five. Early dinner. Two ears of corn and a small scoop of potato salad. And for a snack I had some chex mix. Oh yeah, and a couple bottles of wqter. Not the greatest, but not too bad. (I think) Phyl. - dog sounds really cute. Our neighbors have an australian shepard and he is just a sweetie. He went and knocked up a golden retriever last winter and they have one of the puppies too. Maggie is, well a puppy. what more can I say. I'm sure she'll mellow out. Gotta go. still have lots to do before bed and it is getting late. Just don't want you all thinking i am binging if I don't check in. See you all tomorrow. -

What kind of dog did Tracy get? I've been wondering about that. Thanks for the swift kick guys. I appreciate it. I've been battling the munchies all day. Good thing I don't have any munchie food here in the house. I clicked this cause I was going to respond, but Candice said it best. You are the greatest. Got a heart of gold. Wish I could help, but Ca. is a little far for me. -

I am so glad you aren't mad at me. Like I said, I don't know the whole story and I know that more is going on that I don't know about but I felt tyhe need to make a comment even though I'm not really good at putting words down on paper. Candice said it pretty good though. I do know what it is like being home with the kids in the middle of nowhere. Well, probably not like you but it's a half hour drive to get anywhere and it's easier to just stay home. Boring. I am going to put you and Michael on my prayer list though. God can and does perform miracles (I can sense that this would be a miracle to you). Just know that I don't mean anything mean. I just care about you guys. Okay, that being said, I won't tell Phyl to tell Tracy to tell her daughter that if she is living under her roof, she lives by their rules and if she doesn't like it, There's the door. I've done that. Candice - I am so proud of the way you are sticking to your food regime. I'm a little jealous too. I need someone to give me a swift, hard kick in the butt. Okay, this is long enough. TTYL -

Hello everyone. Spent the week-end bqbysitting the kidlets. And, on not a whole lot of sleep. Nerves were strung pretty tight. Had a bad bad day Friday foodwise. Then, didn't fall asleep till about 5:30 am. Figured it was sugar overload. Been really careful since then. two hours of sleep sucks and I don't want to repeat that. Of course, right now I'm not eating a whole lot. Had an appointment at the dental school last week. they took e-rays and then they will review them and get back to me with a plan. And of course, Murphy is working overtime again. My one tooth lost two pieces. One Sat. and another one yesterday. Inside of my mouth is pretty torn up. Hope they review my xrays soon and get back to me soon. Happy Birthday, Candice. Posted it this morning on FB. 54..............I wish. Steph - I really don't know how to put this without stepping on toes here and pissing you off.........but.........You are one Busy Girl. It's been this way all summer. Is it possible that this is part of Michael's problem? Sounds to me that something has to give. You can't expect things to run smoothly with a schedule like you have. You're gonna have to sit down and figure out your priorities. I don't know the situation at all and I know there is a lot you haven't said but it seems to me that he is crying out for attention. Kids don't care how they get it...........they just want it , any way, any how. Okay. Now tell me to shut up and MMOB. Will try and check back later. -

Candice - good idea to take RV and friends and leave DH home. Hey, Brad sounds a lot like Linda described Mel. So, since Brad would kiss me good-bye and tell me to have a good time.................well, Maybe You, Me and Linda should take off in the RV come next summer. Janet - We'll probably be in Fla. in Feb too. So, if you do go, let me know.........Orlando is two hours from my mom's. Karla - haven't forgotten about going thru my closet. I found the black slacks. I'm just the world's best procrastinator. I just sat down today and paid my bills. All of them about a week overdue. I've got a project going in the middle of my dining room. I'm making pierced earring holders and I'm thinking of getting a booth at one of the craft shows for Christmas. And, I've got two piles of quilt squares to put together and I have to put binding on DD's quilt. And I just cant seem to find the time to do things. Too bad that doesn't include eating. Seem's there is always time for that. I'll try to check back later. -

Another boring Saturday. Just spent the last hour in front of the boob tube watching infomercials. Does that tell you how bored I am? But, one of those infomercials was for the Lifestyle Lift. I mentioned it back when you were all talking facelifts. They show it a lot here so I bet they show it all over all the time. Anyway, to get a free information, call 1-800-753-1586. Also the consultation is free. It says it only takes about an hour and done with local anesthesia (like the dentist). They showed a lady who had bypass surgery and had lost about 130 lbs. She had all the same issues we have with the saggy neck, jowls and lines. She looked great. I thought I would share this with you since they say it is cheaper and easier than a regular facelift and Let's face it, money is an issue. Thanks for the info on PS in Sarnia. Gonna check it out as soon as I'm done here. Have fun camping in your RV. Take some pics and post them. I want to see just what the inside of it looks like. Doesn't look big enough to me, but then again, I gotta see it. Gosh, school's starting up again. Where has the summer gone? Of course, since I don't have kids in school anymore it doesn't really affect me. Michigan passed a law a year or so again where school cannot start before Labor Day. The travel industry here in Mi. doesn't want to lose that week and a half of the tourist business. Of course, they will lose same time in June when the kids have to go to school longer but they don't think of things like that. Then again, with the shape our economy is in, the whole travel industry is a little redundant. Phyl - Prayers for your knee surgery. Hope all goes well. Will be thinking of you. -

Hello all!! I'm back. Had a great time with my mom, daughter and grandkids. The weather was hot (90's) and muggy. Too hot for walking but did do the pool every day and discovered if I put the noodle under my arms and laid on my back, it was just like pedaling my exersize bike. It was great waking up every morning to two big hugs and kisses from Gavin and Karina. They were really good if you don't count the couple of meltdowns Gavin had. They charmed their great gramma no end. She was so happy that we came down to see her that she gave me an early Christmas present. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? A blank check for my tummy tuck. AND my arms. Gee, wonder what else I could get done while I'm there? Finished scanning all the pages I missed while gone. I know I probably missed a whole lot but hey, six pages? Okay, I'm on brain overload now. There was so much I was going to say here but I can't remember. Anyway, HUGS FOR EVERYONE. CHINS UP, IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER. Okay, enough of that. I'll check back in tomorrow and maybe then my brain will be functioning on all.....(dang, I forgot the word). Maybe I'm still on the grandkids level. (goo goo ga ga) -

This is going to be quick cause it is getting late, but I don't want you to think bad of me cause I'm going to be AWOL for a week. DD and darling grandkids are leaving tomorrow for Florida to visit my mom for a week. I sure am going to miss you guys though. I have been thouroughly enjoying myself reading these posts tonight. You are all in rare form and you've got me chuckling out loud here. Good thing everyone is in bed or they's probably think I've lost it. Candice - You don't know what it meant to me to find out you feel strongly about organ donation. Our little Jaylibug has really made me aware. I just wish she had survived. Karla - Okay, girl, I have quite a few inbetween items of clothing that I haven't gotten rid of yet. What size do you need? E-mail me your address (kirajh@yahoo.com) and if I have some things in your size, I will mail them to you as soon as I get back next week. Janet - congrats on becoming a great gramma. When those kittens are old enough, buy some ribbon, tie a bow around their necks, put them in a box and head on over to Wallyworld. Or have Andrew do it. You'd be surprised just how fast they find homes. Okay, guess I'd better sign off. It's midnight and I haven't even started to pack. Oh well, guess I can do it in the morning. -

Karla - Try Walmart. I completely replenished all my shirts there and I don't think that more than a couple were more than $5.00. When they put things on sale, they put them on sale. And, it is that time of year. And, they are nice. not cheap looking at all. In fact, I see tops in stores that I really really like, but why pay $20.00 or more mor something I can get at Walmart for the same price. Same style, different fabric but I like them just as well. I downloaded my Elvis pics this morning. Couldn't sleep last nite, so I got up at 5am and downloaded them during my free download time. I don't have a picture with Elvis. I thought I did, but I don't. Linda - I feel just the way you and Candace do. Sure it would be nice to lose that last twenty pounds and weigh what I did when I got married, but hey, I am 59......not 23. Besides, I think if I lose too much more, I'll start looking really old with that saggy chin and droopy jowls. I feel good now and am almost off all my meds and that was the purpose of losing in the first place. Looking better is just a benefit from being healthy. Besides, I'm not in my twenties anymore, and I'm 5'9", large boned and come from good hearty german stock. So, just how skinny can I get?? Today was a decent day, food wise. The rest sucked. Man, is it hot and humid here. And, just three more days and dd and grandbabies head to florida. Talk hot and humid. Of course, since I didn't sleep last night, I spent the afternoon sleeping. No time to pig out. Well, gonna end this and I will check bak tomorrow. -

Well, Janet. only a couple more posts and we're at pg/1000. Are you starting us all a new thread? Any ideas for a name. Guess you better decide soon. Food choices are doing much better. Not great, but better. I've pretty much decided to go for a slight unfill. This 3am acid reflux stinks. Finally had another BM today. Once a week just doesn't make it for me. Well, I'll check back later. Have a great evening.

Hi Guys Janet - tell Karla about the plaque Linda and I found for you in Canada. Karla and Candice- Brad and I went to a tractor show Friday and one of our friends there was telling us how excited his wife was over a quilt she made. I guess it was a large queen and it was appliqued. She decided she wanted it hand quilted so she hired an Amish lady to do it and from what I heard it was gorgeous. A work of art. And she only paid $155.00 to have it done. No way would I do that for that price. Maybe we should head out to Montana or Wyoming next summer. Got room for all of us Karla? Or we could head farther west to Wash. or Oregon. Or even Vancouver. Next week, DD and grandbabies are heading for Florida to visit my mom. Only be gone a week but I won't be on between the 11th and the 19th. Female tests? I haven't had a pap in at least 15 years. But then the only thing in there are my overies. You'll notice that I haven't mentioned food. That's cause it is taboo. No, not the food. Just talking about it. There's a reason for that and it's not a good one. Okay, this is long enough. Talk to you all tomorrow. Love you guys. HUGS!!!
-
He forgot to sing about the looney and the toonie. Janet - I think I missed something. Whats an MH? And talking about facelifts, have you guys seen the infomercial for the Lifestyle Lift? I sent away for info but never f0llowed up so I'm not sure how it works, but let me tell you, those before and after pics in their brochure are amazing. It's sposed to be a whole lot cheaper too. Now for the trip next year. Doesn't matter to me. But you are right, us cold weather gals will die in that humidity. But, then again, it's only a few days. We get really hot weather here too for a few days. So, for Linda, Karrie, Karla and Denise..........put your heads together and compare your winter breaks, presidents day weekend, spring breaks. Who knows, they might all coordinate. But, if we do something else, how about somewhere over on the western side of the country since you've had to travel to this part the past two years.
-
Linda In theory, I agree. I even understand. But, I drink water, exersize get fiber and I still only have BM every seven or more days. (and that is with a laxative) I don't like taking them but man, the hemoroids are killing me. Dang, trying to push that turd out is harder than pushing out any one of my babies heads, (TMI)
-
I wasn't kidding, but you know that term, "Godsmack"? Well, i found those pounds since I got home. No BM though. Took a laxative and still waiting for it to kick in. I know. TMI,eh. Is the RV one like the brochure you had? Steph - I don't know what to tell you about Michael except to make sure he understands that it is his behavior that you don not like and not him as a person. Most times when kids act up, it is for attention, to make sure you love them. So again, make ure he knows it is the behavior you don't like. Now, I am going to show all of you that I have too much time on my hands but.........have you seen the shows that Maury, Montel and Sally Jesse used to have on about troubled brats? Maybe one of those boot camp thingys would work great for him.. Make him realize how great home is and teach him some respect. It always worked on those shows and those kids were only gone one or two days. Don't know cost or anything, but you can google it. Well, got to go make dinner. check back later. If I can find my way off the farm. I am 1500 points from the mansion.
-
What did it cost at the duty free shop? Would it be worth it to make the drive to the border?
-
I can't believe more pages were filled out today than was filled out the past five days. Okay, now I add my two cents DITTO, Eh. What else can I say. It's all been said. I think I may have an Elvis picture. I tried to stay up last night and try to download during my free download time, but, dang. 2AM is to early. eh? Can you believe I was down two this morning? Must have been that delish fudge, wine, beer and poutine. Eh? Or maybe it was the coffee. I did read somewhere that it speeds the metabolism. Maybe I aught to start drinking it. eh? Or maybe it was that nicotine. (Don't worry, I'm not going to start up again. But I did enjoy it.) THANKS AGAIN, CANDICE. I HAD A BLAST AND YOU AND PETER ARE THE GREATEST!!
-
Details, Steph? That's easy......BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. What else can I say? It was indescribable, extremely fun and the fellowship was priceless. Who needs Mastercard? We Lucky Sevens are PRICELESS!!!! Wawhoo-o-o!!!! Had a grat ride home. Took my time and stopped and did some shopping on the way home. Got home about 7:30 and it weas 80 degrees and SUNNY!! Yes, sunny. But it's sposed to rain the next couple days. Who cares that we were all starting to sprout algae out our ears. We still had tons of fun. Thanks again Candice, You guys are GREAT!!! (can we come back?) Karla - have fun with your quilting week. Sure wish you could have seen Candace's quilts. they are beautiful. The thing I want to know is How the heck do you guys get your protein to 50 & 60? Damn, I read the labels and it seems like I'm lucky if I reach 20. I gotta go. Still have tons to go thru here on the computer and it is getting pretty late. So, I hope all of you guys are safe and sound at home and tucked in all nice and compfy.
-
I have to start here by apologizing for opening that can of worms. But would you believe, when i stopped by church this morning, our Pastor asked me to get the lowdown on Canada's health care. Told him I already did. One more sleep. that is, if I ever make it upstairs to bed. Got three books on audio CD to listen to on the ride. And, Candace and Linda, just got to tell you that I don't live in Grand Rapids. My daughter does though. We're halfway between Lansing and Ann Arbor. But don't worry, Candace, the directions still work perfectly. I'll pick up I69 and go from there. SEE YOU GUYS TOMORROW. GONNA MISS YOU STEPH, KARLA AND KARRI. NEXT YEAR FOR SURE.
