Glad to hear it. I still have some frozen, it may be my Breakfast tomorrow.

So I was sleeved on 11/25 (3.5 months ago). My starting weight was 262. Day of Surgery I was 253. Today I am 212 and am just a little disappointed with my rate of weight loss. I have weighed myself daily since surgery and the scale has been more frustrating than anything. I think I would be happier if I weighed weekly, but every morning, I get excited to see what the scale says ( even more so if I've had a BM) but that excitement is soon replaced by disappointment. Also I am eating around 800 calories per day and doing Zumba 3-4x/ week plus some weights an ab work and I'm a nurse on a large unit so I walk quite a bit at work. I wear a fitbit so I know that I am in a 1200-1500/day calorie deficit and I get my protein and water in (for the most part). I am 32 and 5' 2 and have about 75-80 more lbs to go. Anyone have any ideas regarding how to stay off of the scale or anything else would be welcome.

How do you NOT weigh yourself daily?
LynRN replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ellen, you're asking the unthinkable, but I'll give it a try. I think I'll ask the hubby to put it in his trunk and only weigh on Tuesday Mornings. I need some accountability, how can we check bak in on Tuesdays? -
How do you NOT weigh yourself daily?

My Nut is okay with my calorie intake, but she did say that I am eating too many times per day. I usually eat 3 meals and two Snacks and she wants me to eat 3 meals only, no snacks. But I don't understand why that's necessary if I'm within my calorie goal. I have very long days and eating something every 3-4 hours keeps me satisfied. My PA upped my Prilosec to see if that will help me with the hunger feelings and in the mean time I'll try to cut back to one snack. She's also not too fond of the Quest bars, but I love them and they help me keep my sugar cravings under control and meet my Protein goals. -
Hey Jen, have you tried the pumpkin spice oatmeal, yet?

I am an apple shaped girl with a lot of... um ... girth around the midsection. I have added crunches in with my cardio. Does anyone know whether or not they will help? Does people still do crunches?

So I know lots of you can't do steak. But for those that can, you should try this. I found it in the freezer section at WalMart. I try lots of fully cooked frozen meat (mostly Tyson) because of the convenience and this one is my new fave. It's really tender and well seasoned. I made lettuce wrapped steak tacos tonight. So good. Each 3 oz serving has 150 calories and 18g Protein. Try it and let me know what you think.

I used the hydroponic butter lettuce from WalMart because it makes beautiful little "cups." I added the steak some grilled onions a little cheese and taco sauce. But if I had some pico de gallo or good fresh salsa, I would have used that with a little cilantro, a squeeze of lime and a dollop of plain Greek yogurt. I think I'll be having this again today.

mirena and post op period
LynRN replied to JSC2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a Mirena and my period never stopped completely. I always had some light bleeding during my period and that's it. Also I have mittelschmerz (ovulation pain) pretty bad. Well since surgery, my periods are long and while they're not heavy, there is actual bleeding. My annual is in May, but I might go in sooner to get an ultrasound to make sure it's in place. But my OB did tell me that this is normal with the weight loss. -
I often get a little pain in my chest, do you guys ever get that? If not, what are your "enough" signs.

How many calories a day at 3 months?
LynRN replied to CrissyRing77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually do have a little more on workout days, too. -
Lol. Yes, booties are very important to us. I've unfortunately never had much of one, kind of an apple shape. If I get plastics when I'm done, I buying a new butt, too (Brazilian butt lift, not implants). I live in Iowa, though, so I might have to go to Atlanta or Chicago to get the silhouette that I want. Anyway, congrats to you. The pics are very inspirational.

LynRN replied to CrissyRing77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and try to stick around 800 as well and I feel like I have been in a stall more often than not. I have an appointment coming up too, so we'll see. -
Apple Shaped Ladies: Holla Back!
LynRN replied to LynRN's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Good for you. I am currently working on my Master's to become a Family Nurse Practitioner which was part of my motivation for losing weight. I need to have some credibility when I tell my patients that they need to lose weight. -
So I've been exercising more the last few days and TOM is here and my hunger has been pretty intense. Have any of you experienced this?
-
I'm 3 months out and going through the same thing. I have increased my exercise lately and maybe that's the cause. I have hear that the sleeve relaxes a little at 3 months as it is fully healed. How many calories are you getting in per day? I try to stay at 800, but the last few days its been trying to creep to 1000 (TOM).

What ya eating tonight?
LynRN replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's hubby's birthday, so going to Texas Roadhouse. Plan on having a little ribeye and grilled shrimp. I know my husband is going to get the 20 oz, so I'm trying to decide of I should order my own or have a few ounces of his. -
I am am OB nurse and I also have the Mirena. I will preface this by saying that you need to do what is best for you and this is just my opinion. Anyway, most of the women that I have seen that have the Paragard experience very heavy periods. However, if this is not a deterrent for you or you don't tolerate hormones, it may be a good option for you. Another plus is that it is good for 10 years but most can't get past the bleeding.

Also, I have read lots of your posts. CBT, can't wait to see your new post op pic tomorrow. Mrs. RRn, looking forward to your nine month update. Keep posting those pics, Ladies. Thy are truly inspiring to us newbies.

They're actually too big to bunch right now. I need new panties, hopefully not from Lane Bryant.
-
Thanks for your replies. I have also found that my weight goes up 1-2 lbs during my TOM. So frustrating. But I have seen other posts from you guys and you have had great success. So I guess I'll just roll with it and try not to get my panties in a bunch.

I can't stand when people put a random apostrophe in a word when they really just needed an "s." Example: I ate two protein bar's. Drives me nuts. My other pet peeve is the word "irregardless." I am kind of a grammar Nazi, though, and that drives my husband nuts. Oh Well!

I went back on day 10. I work 12 hour nights in a Maternity Center. I was fine. no issues.

Only 60 calories and 6 carbs. Good for those like me that need a little chocolate in your life.

Yes, I found them with the frozen fruits at Walmart. They also have a banana variety but those were a little higher in calories and carbs.
