Covatila, it happens all the time and you're like WTF?? You'll have times when you weigh and your the same for a while or you've even gained (especially if your menstrual- I don't weigh myself for a few days once that starts) then randomly you're down a few lbs. The men don't seem to have that issue as much as we do. Anyway, you'll be fine- just wait and see. Just watch the change over the months. It seems like forever in the beginning, but goes by so fast once you start feeling like yourself again. On a side note- word from the wise. Don't try to kill two birds with one stone- I was eating in the car on the way home from work and got car sick. Needless to say I had laundry to do when I got home -

Covatila, I was having constipation issues until recently. I spoke with the nutritionist postop and she said Milk of Magnesia was fine to take but just occasionally and to increase fluids. I was only going once a week when I took the Milk of Magnesia. Even with trying to increase fluids I still had issues. I've just recently gotten back into going uninduced and it's still not daily like before- like every 2-3 days now. -

Want to share an updated pic. My 5 month postop date was March 7th. I took a pic that day So happy for the progress in this amount of time. The loss is steady. It doesn't feel like it's too much in a short amount of time. It seems to be about 3ish lbs weekly with a random week here or there where I lost 5 or 6 (mainly while I had a cold for a month). -

Glad you made it safe Ellie! I wonder if they will move you to the Marriott later? How did the preop diet end up going for you? -

Thank you MWS, SuperK, Ren, and LTC7!! Our Oct people rock!! Ren, I'm so sorry you're having trouble and have to have further surgery. Make sure to keep us updated. When did the food problems start? I'm definitely going to go for my EGD my doctor recommends 6-12 months post to check everything and make sure it's ok. I would've thought the food intolerances were normal too. I'm sorry -

St. Patrick's Day Challenge

Bea, I'm good with whatever you want. Obviously some people may not be able to log in sometimes no matter what day it is because we all have different schedules. I think it's fine the way it is when we do it weekly leading up to the holiday on that date. But when were done who this challenge, however you set up the challenge, I'm in!! It's more fun though looking at the calendar leading up to the holiday. There are also other threads where people weigh in weekly on a certain day already as well. -

Covatila, ditto for me what Kindle said. This sleeve is tight! I'm still having trouble balancing eating/drinking and I'm almost 5 months out. Do the best you can and try to kill 2 birds with one stone in the beginning (protein powder in things, Greek yogurt turned into drinkable yogurt). You'll be fine. On a separate note, I'm super excited to report another milestone!! I'm officially 101lbs down from my high weight as of Friday! I'm excited, amazed, surprised, extremely thankful to have not had complications up to this point, and most of all blessed. So good! I had said that once I hit this milestone I was going to buy myself an extra special handbag that I've wanted, however the closer I got to this point, I realized that that was something I always did- buy handbags. I should be having fun!! So instead I decided on a cruise and exciting, adventurous excursions. :) :) Yay!! -

Covatila, I didn't have any problems sleeping but then again I've always been the girl who loves a good nap Also I saw your post about your protein intake just that one day and wanted to offer a suggestion if you don't already know about it. Unjury makes chicken broth and unflavored protein powder, so you can easily get your protein by adding the chicken flavor to your veggie broth or have it by itself and a little of the unflavored to your drinkable yogurt just to beef up protein in the beginning. Since you don't get much in every sip counts I made protein Popsicles out of the Isopure drinks from GNC too BTW- I was sticky for a few weeks before I felt comfy scrubbing that junk off I had also put steri-strips on my incisions for added security-safety (I'm a little accident prone) since I'm always bumping into things. -

That is so wonderful Bea!! No need to say sorry for sharing hitting such a milestone! I have my weight written down according to the BMI for all of the different obesity classes so I know when I've moved into a different class so I totally get it and I can only imagine how happy you are If anyone gets it, it's us!!
