I Want To See Before & After Pics!
back2barb78 replied to Christina760's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I finally get to post here! I plan on only posting every couple of months so you can see a difference One is a collage of some pics I've taken and the other is me and my surgeon Dr. Ariel Ortiz Day 2 postop. I will be 3 months postop 1/7/14. Super glad I moved forward and paid OOP because I would probably still be waiting to have surgery and have made so much progress! -

Glad to hear from you and that things are going well. I made my mom read this thread before I had surgery and she now asks me "how's that barb2 gal doing?" So sweet! I'm thankful to be doing well and very happy those before me and after me are doing well also. Yay! -

Congrats Mazzers!! Glad all went well. Happy New Year everyone! I can't even tell you all how excited about this year- vacations, horseback riding, and zip lining are all on my to-do list. So many changes with my body so fast is overwhelming but definitely welcome. Yay 2014!!! -

I have to weigh myself when I get home. I weighed yesterday and was 258, but the weather was so beautiful here in Long Beach, we went for a long walk on the beach yesterday. I need to weigh again when I get home so I'll check in with a final weight tomorrow. Happy New Year! -

Bea, congratulations. I'm sure you are very happy and moreover proud of yourself for the positive changes you have been able to make over the past year. So happy for you. -
Kiap, I don't know how good this advice will be but I've been guessing about 2-3lbs per week but it also depends on your weight now (I'm a bigger person so it's coming off slightly faster). You're still early in where fluid shifts happen which can be interpreted as "stalls" when your body is readjusting. There are going to be periods during this time when you're not going to lose anything for days (or weeks), then randomly you're down 3-4lbs. I've found no rhyme or reason personally to my weight loss but again I am still very early in the process at about 11.5 weeks out. I would set a small goal and when you pass it, it will be a great feeling! I am very thankful for these challenges and Bea because it helps me track my progress and see others who are further out have success as well. It's exciting to see people make their goals. I missed my goal the first challenge (didn't really know how to set my goal either and was still early in the postop period) and I'm 2lbs away from goal for the New Years Challenge for which I calculated 3lbs/week. Good luck to you!

Mazzers, they did a wake up call as well and remind me to come downstairs the day of surgery. The bandage change on day 3 was more laid back- you kind of wait in the lobby until they call you. Any changes that needed to be made to scheduling, I was called at the Marriott. Everyone always called me by my name which was nice. -

It's definitely not TMI. If I don't go for a week or more (this is one of my biggest problems), I will weigh 1-2lbs less after I finally go. It's crazy! -

Adoptivemom that's why I want to go back for my EGD! To sample some of the goodies. The buffet looked amazing and my parents enjoyed it. Hopefully by then I will at least be able to taste a little of some of the dishes. I feel bad for you for all of the travel issues. Hopefully you will be home soon -

I'm sure everyone is different, but I'm having nausea still and I'm 11 weeks out as of tomorrow. I don't drink shakes often at all. I don't try a whole lot myself. At 6 weeks out, you're at the new life stage and should be able to try a lot of things. My stomach is fickle- even things I've had before will come back up sometimes. It decides what it wants and when. I haven't had any trouble with lettuce or tomato either. -

Karliy, same here- no drive! My poor boy has been very patient with me. Nothing's wrong with you. I'm so tired and don't feel sexual at all but the boy is staring at me wanting some action. I'm glad he's a good man and didn't get pushy with me. I finally gave in and had sex last night (sorry if that's TMI) and it was great! Maybe you just need some more time. I know I did- a LOT of time. Being exhausted doesn't make for a great romp in the bedroom. I didn't notice any difference in fluids thankfully
