ok I have been quiet in the forums for a while now since my last few threads worked their way to completion but i was just noticing the post of my buddy bjean and decided to look at what the fuss was about .... prayers of unbeliever fall on deaf ears pattygreen are you higher that i usually am... what is your problem first of all if a person is a unbeliever y would they be preying second ... if a person who doesn't trust God prays and is not herd how will they ever begin to trust God. I am blown away by how frickin self righteous you are... Remember even Christians weren't always Christians ... i think alot of religious people forget that ..... Get your mind right and remember that we worship and God of love, forgiveness, and hope ... Where do you get off riding your high horse looking down your nose at people who are still weak in their walk. I mean really?!?!? a parent never wants harm to come to a child but sometime it happens and its not because the parent didn't do everything in their power to stop the child from getting hurt in the process. it kills God to see any one suffering but because he gave us free will it is sometimes unavoidable no matter how much he tries to correct out path. If all Christians believed as you do then where would the hope be.

I was banded a while ago and i have been working diligently at changing my life style for the better. weed made the cut of things that will stay... I control the munchies but having healthy food that i prepared at the ready and if i don't again i am in control weed is not that kind of substance. The a salad or a piece of baked Popeye's chicken are always a good munchies and the more protein you have the better u kill the munchies longer too. As for how it affects my weight loss i smoke recreationaly to stop from blowing up my office...lol jk and to cure the occasional nausea i seem to have been getting with the band... That being said look at my Sig u tell me how weed is affecting my progress look if you don't smoke that's your bag but everyone i know that enjoys is accomplished and is in full control of their habit it would be ridiculous to allow the munchies to prove that a plant is more powerful that you are. i pay taxes, i follow the law, but if smoking pot makes me a criminal then i will march with head raised because some things are bad because your goverment has said they are... so you do you and ill do me but i choose to break away from the heard... it will be harder fro them to lead me to the slaughter that way. btw try water loading .... would wonders for the munchies

Hello I'm TheWatcher You may remember me from such memorable threads like Are we ready for a Black President and others. I was recently messaged by someone; and this individual asked me a question that i has been thinking about since Barack started his run for the White House. Barack Obama has energized and motivated the Black Community of American like no one has since the Civil Rights movement and Some in the Black Community and still apathetic, Pessimistic if you will and dont believe whats happening. I may share my responce that i gave later... but for now i Pose this question. What would happen toin America If Barack Obama was to fall to a Assasins Bullet? It may be a frightening notion but it already has legs a Assasination attempt was foiled before the DNC acceptance speech. So please Share your views, fears, or anything that this topic beings up to your mind that you would like to discuss. If the questions are there, this is as good of a place as any other to get them answered.

Growing number say country ready for black president Posted: 04:01 PM ET WASHINGTON (CNN) — A new poll suggests that the number of Americans who believe the country is ready for a black president is on the rise. Seventy-six percent of those polled in a CNN/Essence Magazine/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Thursday say that the country is ready. That's up 14 points from December 2006, at the start of the presidential campaign. "Some of the increase in the number of Americans who say the country is ready for a black president is a simple recognition of Barack Obama's success in the Democratic primaries," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director. "We're not asking this question in a vacuum. In many cases, respondents must have had Obama in mind when giving their answer, even though he is not mentioned anywhere in the questionnaire." The senator from Illinois is locked in a battle with Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York for the Democratic presidential nomination. Obama currently leads Clinton in states won, delegates pledged, and in the overall popular vote in the primaries and caucuses held so far this year. The poll also indicates that more white Americans than African-Americans think the country is ready for a black president. Seventy-eight percent of white Americans surveyed say the country is ready, as opposed to only 69 percent of African-Americans polled. Both numbers are up substantially from December 2006. "Drawing on their own life experience, blacks are a little more skeptical than whites," said Bill Schneider, CNN's senior political analyst. "But blacks, too, have come around, particularly after the Iowa caucuses demonstrated that Obama could win in an overwhelmingly white electorate." Holland added, "Among blacks, the belief that the country is ready for an African-American president is highest among blacks who share traits with Obama. Optimism about the country's acceptance of a black president is higher among black men than among black women, higher among college-educated blacks than among those with no college degree, and higher among younger blacks than older blacks." The poll also suggests that more Americans think the country is ready for a black president than a woman president. Sixty-three percent of those surveyed said that the country is ready for a female president. That's 13 points lower than those who say the country is ready for black president. "Do Americans see more prejudice against a woman than an African-American," Schneider asked. "More likely, they see more negative feelings about this woman than about this African-American. Because it's true. More people have an unfavorable opinion of Hillary Clinton than of Barack Obama." It's also important to note that the poll asked whether the country is ready for a black or woman president, not whether the respondent would vote for a black or woman president. "Few people will acknowledge their own prejudices, but they will answer whether they think the country is ready to elect a black or woman president," Schneider said. The CNN/Essence Magazine/Opinion Research Corporation survey was released on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. The poll was conducted by telephone from March 26 to April 2, with 2,184 Americans questioned, including 1,014 blacks and 1,001 whites. The survey's margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points for the overall sample and plus or minus 3 percentage points for the questions asked just of black or white Americans.

You attacked my attitude i never would question someone’s Christianity... and i don’t believe that i have attacked anyone personally... I want debate and debate sometimes gets ugly…. But you’re right we do sometimes trend to get into partisan bickering but I have yet to read any real personal attacks. But if you felt it was persona ...i guess it was personal... sorry i'm not mad ....i'm blunt and i have always been and always will be so .... i'm sorry if that is a problem.

No i am i THINK what you could consider middle class I’m single i come from a middle class family i make a little over 45k and i live in California... You know what not that i spell it out.... I’m probably lower middle class... any who i have had to pay more and more on my taxes than i ever have before.... I’m in school for my overpriced bachelors degree mortgage and i am already broke enough and now i have decided to go to grad school well i fear for my economic stability( well not so much anymore OBAMA!!!!) Working with my manager who is a good friend of mine ... we figured out that at his current wage and mine he pays about 34% in his taxes... I pay about 37.6%... not he has broken the 270k mark and i barely took second in the race for 45k. so how is that fair... my boss doesn’t and he makes that much money... the thing that kills me is that there are so many people who dot make that much money, that don’t have anything to gain from there ultra conservative views yet they fight progress every step of the way. btw I’m find it really( actually i don't really care) you think I’m sour but I guess that’s a personal problem but… you can read my post … I’m not concerned if people think I’m sour… sour people spark conversation and that’s exactly what I’m trying to do here (so :cool2: )

R look I know that I often come across harsh... and I’m not saying that you don't have a right to your opinion thank you for the clarification. But if you have red my thread from the beginning I think you can kind of understand that things sometimes get tense here. And in my other thread.... it’s just that I am real empathetic towards the plight of others and the simple fact at this point that the outbound (giddy because we are done with Bush) administration FAILED in a major way. And not just once but multiple times... the literature is all around us.. On the net in print... things are really bad right now. If the World hates you there is nothing to be proud about. When America becomes a country that other countries look at and say "don’t be like that" I can’t be proud about that no matter what’s going on. The world is not filled with stupid people if they don’t like us it means that something is going wrong. It went from I’m proud to be an American to I’m glad I’m an American because we collectively as a country have been raining havoc on the world for 8 long years. It’s to the tune now that even the (so called) Iraqis that we "liberated" want us gone.... That is a big problem... They want us gone so bad the president of Iraq didn’t even wait till the election was over to back Obamas plan to start the drawdown of troops. Those are just the facts... I’m sorry for going off but is any of that wrong?

maybe im forgetting something.... maybe about 3 weeks after 911.... or the Hell that people suffered when left to fend for self in Katrina(New Orleans) or maybe it was the false war, or the Half retarded nitwit that America put in office... twice. im not saying that there aren't things about America that aren't worthy of our pride... but When you step back and look at the whole picture the vision has been too sloppy too flawed... Last night Our populace grew... collectively we realize that bullshit doesn't matter and that we have to take our heads out of our collective asses and be more, want, more, do much much more.

Then i declare you give your pride too easily... Pride is more that being patriotic, more than supporting our troops, more that wearing some 10 cent lapel pin. Pride is what gets most Americans up in the morning to fight for Whats right, Their Families, friends, country. When America Breaks Rules that America imposed on the world to begin with... There is nothing to be proud about there. When my father caught me stealing when i was a boy Did that stop him from being in my corner... no... did that stop him from fighting for me... no... did that stop him from loving me... no... Did that make him ashamed of me... yes and i still have not forgotten how that felt.... Pride is earned... and America for the last 8 years has not earned much at all. -edited beyond this point- Furthermore black people in this country... especially the black middle class of this country have a drive a need pushed upon use by society and our parents and their dreams for us that we have to do better and we have to want more. 2 generations of that mindset has lead to a generation of Black Americans that aren’t impressed by normal we want extraordinary out of ourselves our community and our country. that being said can you really look at how this country has been represented for the last 8 years... was it Americas absolute best, was it an extraordinary model for the world to follow. In case you’re struggling... the answer is no!.... We have to want more and expect more from ourselves, our country, and our leaders. Do not give your pride freely make it worthwhile, make sure whatever you give your pride to is worthy of the power that it represents.

Yessir .... i Love this country... and for me thats saying alot... i mean i always knew i lived in the best country on earth... but i aver really felt at home... like Whoppie said on the view... "i feel as though i can finally put my suitcase down".... That is so powerful... I Love America... It is finally My Home and as of last night i dont think anything or any one can EVER change that.:smile2:
