Anyone else having severe stomach aches?
adlsmith replied to MemphisChik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr said to never take a laxative!!!!! Only softeners!!! Try mixing a fiber substitute in your water. Hope you feel better soon. Don't get discouraged!!! -

The pre op diet is the hardest part of the entire process! You Can do it!!!! I have a magic bullet that I use. It awesome! I had my surgery August 14th and I still have another week of pureed foods. Can't wait to actually chew something again!! Lol good luck to you on your weight loss journey!

Wow!!! That stinks! I'm almost 3 weeks out and have not experienced any such thing. Our bodies have gone through some tough stuff so I'm thinking it may just take some time for it to get back to a normal functioning state. Good luck to you hope it gets easier for ya!

Lopsided stomache
adlsmith replied to nervousnelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say that its probably just still swollen a bit from surgery. I has my sleeve done on the 14. It took a bit for the swelling to go down. Don't worry. You won't be lop sided forever!!!! Lol Congrats on your surgery and good luck! -

Release yesterday and only drinking powerade
adlsmith replied to nyorker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem when I came home. Just had my surgery August 14. I figured out that I wasn't really full, it was gas. The pressure was making it seem as tho I was full. Its very important to get your fluids in. You don't wanna be back in the hospital for dehydration!! Get some gas x strips!! They work wonders and I assure you u will be able to drink much easier. I also found that eating crushed ice is an easy way to get fluids down rather than baby sips. Stay strong! It gets easier everyday!!!! Good luck. -

adlsmith replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the feeling!!!! I am only 6 days out and its been 20 days since I've "ate" anything!! Starting full liquids tomorrow . Can't wait to taste real food again! I would say its absolutely normal to think of that first meal!! Good luck to you and your husband on your weight loss journeys! -
No Straw to drink with!
adlsmith replied to aTXtumbleweed's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry your in so much pain! My dr also said no straws for at least 3 months. I am 6 days out and have found that for me the best way to get my water in is eating crushed ice!! You should try! Good luck on your weight loss journey!
