What happens at your pre op appointment at your doctors office?
Jerzygurl replied to beauty29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pre-op surgical appointment is next Wednesday, NUT said he will give me the pre-op diet and the surgeon will go over all my test results, and I'll sign my papers for surgery. -

Give yourself a standing ovation! Good for you....Awesome job. -
Sleeved 7/31 and i have only lost 18 pounds
Jerzygurl replied to Esmeralda75's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What I've noticed is you can not compare apples to oranges. Those that have dropped tons of weight, all seem to be in a higher weight class...mostly high 200's and over 300. As long as you're sticking the program, I say, keep doing that..and don't compare yourself to others. -

Protein in first, keep carbs very low, no sugar, no soda, no bread, no Pasta, no rice.. You'll lose it very quickly. I don't have to lose before surgery...but I've changed a few things on my own...cut out all the things I've listed..and have loss weight.. -
Also make sure the doctor's office list any other health issues that are caused or enflamed by your being overweight.

Any October sleevers?
Jerzygurl replied to beachgirlaz52's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like Walden Farms for calorie free. But I've also made my own with red wine vinegar, sauteed garlic, dash of salt & pepper and 2 teaspoons of miracle whip.. Yummy -
2 months left of my 6 months
Jerzygurl replied to NewAshes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Time has zoomed by... I feel like I just went to the seminar, yet that was in mid July! Over 2 months ago. I remember thinking, wow this is going to drag by, especially with all these appointments spread out like they were... My first appointment with the surgeon was Aug. 15th...and that was over a month ago already... All my test are done except my 2nd stress test on Wednesday...and then its on to my last appointment with NUT & Surgeon..and then Surgery sometime a week or two after... So, I'm looking at less than a month for surgery (fingers crossed). -

OMG! Finally got initial consultation
Jerzygurl replied to Tisa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
During your consult. The doctor should share their history with you. I know mine did. He went over all the surgery percentages on a large scale and where he ranked with respect to leaks, weight regain, support, other medical issues as well as mortality rates. Thank goodness, he's had no one die..but he was very open and very honest...about his stats vs the overall averages. I feel completely confident and comfortable with him. -
How long did it take to schedule surgery?
Jerzygurl replied to Lenac0001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isn't it odd how they all work and operate differently..lol I guess the doctor's office is no different than the insurance companies... so many variations in practices and for approvals. I was pre-approved 1 day after my 1st meeting with the surgeon in August..just had to do all the required test and other appointments. -
How long did it take to schedule surgery?
Jerzygurl replied to Lenac0001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I met with the NUT for the 1st time on Sept 11. My 2nd and final appointment with the NUT & WLS is October 2nd. The NUT asked me when did I want to be scheduled, I said as soon as possible, and he said, okay then it will likely be 1 to 1.5 weeks from Oct 2nd. So I'm looking at mid-October! Can't wait. -
Ha Ha..love the analogy.. Sound like the American government of late..lol

Bit of a rant: Pissed off - upset - depressed

OMG! You look 1000% better and healthier I don't see a little old man anywhere! Good for you... -
Sounds to me like you guys need to have a real heart-to-heart. In my psych eval we covered this... weight loss just like weight gain can put a strain on any relationship... that she had it too though her reactions really surprise me.. You guys may need some kind of couples counseling to actually fetter out what is bothering her and why she isn't as enthused about the new you....because I doubt it will just go away on its own.

From all that I've read here and elsewhere, it sounds like you hit a stall.. and your body is making adjustments.. You should stick to the program and allow it to re-adjust and catch up.

anyone else just get done with preop appointments and waiting for approval?
Jerzygurl replied to Mommie4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If they approved one surgeon can't see why it can't be transferred to another that is in network. I mean, all the paperwork and test are done...should be relatively easy. Hopefully, the new doc will only need to see you for an office visit... -

Yep. Call your insurance company. In fact, you probably can go on their website and find a doctor that is in Network... If the doc is that busy and you've got everything else lined up, I say try to find someone else in your area. Good luck. -

Me too. But I'm sucking it up for now. To close to what I want to flip out on him. But you can't bet, he won't get to keep me as a patient..that's for sure. -

Almost there. I thought for sure all my test would be wrapped as of yesterday, but no such luck. I had my cardio stress test and even though it and 2 separate EKGs looked fine, and the echo was fine on wednesday, my cardiologist now wants me to do a Nuclear Stress Test next week. Seems, he figured out, he can order more test without pre-approval and certifications and the insurance company will pay because I have a premium plan. So, I guess, he's trying to get every dime he can. I've seen him 5x already..I mean dude, really..lol.. there's nothing wrong with my heart at all. But I'll play along because I need him to sign off by October 2 because I have my last appointment with the NUT & Surgeon... hoped to be scheduled for surgery in Mid-October. It is true all the plans are different. I had no 6 month supervised diet, only had to visit the doctors office in three separate, yet consecutive months. What's nice about my docs office is that the psych and the NUT are part of his Bariatric Practice and they are all located in one building. I did have to do GI series, Lab Work, but no sleep study, no nicotine testing, no pulmonary test and no endoscopy either. -

Yes, I know the feeling. I'm doing a half dance now..lol..almost there.. I'll be glad to get some cute bras too (I'm 42DD now) and have to wear these boulder holders ..can't wait to toss them! I'm not prone to a whole lot of belly or back fat, for me it's my arms and thighs... thunder CAT...for real..lol..ugh.. -
